[Q] Apps missing from Downloads tab in Marketplace - General Questions and Answers

Hey everyone, So, I was toying around with some apps getting them all updated and what-not, but when i closed the marketplace and reopened it, I did not find my apps i had installed anywhere. Just the main google apps.
None of my extra apps are to be seen. In part with this, No updates are being notified at all, So you can understand how frusterating it is for me.
All my apps are still installed and I installed Applanet and it can see them there just fine too. And they show up in my "Applications" section under my settings.
Anyone know how to make them come back to my downloads area in marketplace so i can update them again?

Mine has done that a couple of times recently, but seems to fix itself after a reboot. Very odd...

[Q] How do I force start a system app?

I want to start the Market Updater but since it is a system app I am not sure of how to force start it or if there is an app for this, there are many apps for stopping other apps but none that I know for starting them. My phone is not rooted.
Yesterday when the market was updated I kept deleting it because I was not sure what was going on, I was not given a notice that there was an update or was ever asked if I wanted to update. The new markets icon was not the same and since I am always quick to think something unfamiliar is a virus I kept uninstalling it and eventually took out the battery and restarted my phone (I know I am weird). NE Ways I looked it up on the net and confirmed that there was indeed a new market released and now I want it back so that is the reason for this question.
Please do NOT post or link to the apk, I want to get it through the Market Update app.

search and download in the market named "Startup Manager", once you've open it, you will have three tabs. Go to the 3rd tab labeled "Custom". from that tab you can add an application that you want to start on startup..
hope it helps if i understood your problem correctly..

Upgrade to GB -- Old market not installing my apps

I used the RUU from HTC to upgrade my rooted Inspire, and it went beautifully. Everything seemed to restore and my phone feels faster.
However... I have the old market back. That isn't as big a problem as it no longer sees all my apps from the market. I searched and searched but couldn't find the answer. Even more annoying is I swear I'd seen this problem and a solution posted somewhere recently.
Anyone?
Thanks!
I have two ideas:
1. Clear Data for the Market, I've had problems with it and this helped
2. Make sure you have Unknown Sources enabled in >Settings>applications and try to install the new market manually.
I had already cleared data/FC'd and restarted several times.
Installed latest Market, and still no love. It only shows Youtube and Maps. I downloaded something new just for grins.
When I log into my market account, it shows me as registered today but not used yet. I suspect it has something to do with this...
Is it new apps that were recently installed since the upgrade that are not seen or previous apps that were installed with previous ROM? If the apps are installed, possibly you can use Titanium backup to restore market links. Most likely other apps that will do the same.
Market doesn't see ANY apps at all! And I can't use Titanium since I'm no longer rooted.
As a side note, my kid called last night to tell me he had upgraded, and had the exact same problem. After installing the upgrade, he had old market and none of his apps showed up.
That is totally strange if you install a new app and then market fails to recognize it right off the bat. I can't recall anyone else having this issue.
Sorry, I misinterpreted your previous post.
Everything I've ever gotten from the market shows in my market account on my computer, but not in 'my apps' tab in the market on my phone. However, the apps I've now downloaded again now show in 'my apps' but still have the original download dates showing in my market account.
Very odd behavior...
You now have me quite confused too. They don't show up then they do show up? What are you missing then? The apps that you previously downloaded with the froyo ROM?

Exactly. Everything I'd previously downloaded is missing in 'my apps' although the phone and all the apps show up when I log into my market account on my PC.
Doesn't really matter much now. The last time I installed a ROM it took nearly an hour for the market to reinstall all my apps. I've manually reinstalled the 10 or so apps I actually use, and not bother with Paper Toss and Tom the Talking Cat and the other 30 or so space wasters.
Just find it odd that my kid and I, in two different cities and on two different ROMs, had the exact same experience with the market. Go figure.
This i what i had to do
This very same thing happend to me as well. If you go on your home computer or use your browser on your phone and go to the actual Market web siteand sign in you can resend all of your apps to your phone and reinstall them. Then they will show up in market on your phone again. The Market web site is marketandroid.com/apps sign in with your google acct info then click the My Library tab and chose the apps you want to reinstall. Hope this helps. let me know if it works!!!
Also when you first started your phone with the original froyo it asked whether you wanted to back your apps up in the setup. Maybe you did not have this checked. So when you ran the RUU it totally wiped your phone clean as it should. If you did have backup selected, when you installed the new ROM it should have started to install most of the apps. I have noticed it never installs all apps from the market. But it does show for me at least all the paid apps. The apps it did show for you were technically not your apps. They were system apps that were linked to the market automatically.
Also as you did start fresh make sure you have google backup in affect so it keeps track of your apps for the next time you install fresh if you ever do.
I believe the reason the apps show up online with the pc and not your phone because google thinks you uninstalled all those apps.

Market not showing any of my downloaded apps???

So recently, for some reason, my Android Market has stopped displaying all apps in the "My Apps" section. I get this message on the "My Apps" section, " Apps and games owned by this account will appear here." I'll post a screen shot of the error if the need be. I've tried lots of things. I've cleared the app data through settings, I've gone as far as to completely wipe the phone, formatting the entire thing and restarting from scratch. My apps were displayed under "My Apps" For about 25mins and as I was reinstalling them, it happened again. I went back and removed the last few apps that I had installed to no avail. I've changed ROMS to see if that would fix it and still same things. It appears to have something to do with my google account. I've read that there is no way to remove a phone and start over as far as your google account tied to it. You can only hide them. I'm at a lose. I can still search and install apps from the market, and it even updates those apps online in the market. But I can view them on my phone to see if they have updates or to uninstall through the market. Hopefully someone can help! I'm exhausted from wiping and reinstalling. I thought it may have something to do with my TB I was restoring so I went through and manually added each app back ( ALL 127 OF THEM) And after about 30, same error. Thanks is advance.
Have you tried Market Fix in Titanium Backup (Menu>Market Tools). Try Market Doctor and if that fails, Destroy all links and try Market Doctor again.
Thanks for the reply. I do not have the pro version of TB to try that. But if I'm sure it'll work, I can swing the money to get it. But there's a another piece to this puzzle. Yesterday at work I was given a new phone. A Droid Incredible 2. I logged into my Gmail account and installed a few apps that I needed, and about 2 hours in. I'm getting he same error on that phone as well. Could here be a problem with my Gmail account? I'm just not sure if running TB pro on one phone is gonna fix both.

Hi there, I did a quick forum search and there are numerous threads about this problem. I haven't read through them all (as I don't have the problem ).

I too ran into a simiar problem over the last couple days. I looked into it through Help and it said the were no longer allowing Dev Phones to download copy written apps to keep the illegal reverse engineering and the breaking down of the apps to build similar apps without the rights from the owner/ dev of those apps. I even recieved a notice saying that an app that I paid for was no longer available to me, and to contact the Dev for a refund. W.T.F. ??

Apps closing for no reason. Please help!

I have a HTC One m8, unrooted, running Android 5.01, Sense 6.0 on Verizon. A couple days ago, apps just started closing the second I open them. Some apps/games work fine while others just won't start. ChompSMS, TriviaCrack and Facebook are the main ones I'm having issues with. I cannot use Chomp or TriviaCrack at all, while Facebook will open, but sometimes it will close a few secons later, and sometimes I can scroll down for a minute or two and then it closes.
I have plenty of free space and ram on my device so I wouldn't think that is the issue. I also have not installed any new apps in the last few days so it's not a new app causing problems. I have been looking for solutions and while I have found a few other posts on other forums about people having the same problem, I have not found any solutions. The interesting thing I have found that everyone with the issue has in common, is that we are all on Verizon. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the problem apps to no avail. Anyone know what is going on? Thanks in advance!
It's probably the Android System Webview issue that's been going around. It's an app you already had and an update something like a week ago is causing all kinds of FC problems. Go find it, uninstall updates and turn off automatic updates in the play store. You'll probably be in business.
Yep
I figured it out shortly after posting. Now my question what exactly does webview do? I uninstalled the updates....should I just disable it as well?
Whatever it does it doesn't seem to hurt anything short of the last update. I saw the warnings in time and have simply been putting off the update in play store until I see that a newer update doesn't cause problems.
I came across this Google plus page discussing the latest Webview issues. The Webview engineer is reaching out for feedback on the M8
The problem appears to be fixed now, I just updated and all my apps are working as they should.
I posted this originally on here and there are a million separate posts that sprung up after lol
I posted an update that should resolve the issue:

Play Store- How do I view my most recently downloaded apps, in order?

So, my S8 has been a little slow/buggy lately. It wasn't acting this way until recently, so I decided it may be a good idea to go through the last few apps I downloaded and try uninstalling them, to see if one of them may be causing problems on the phone.
Now the problem is I download a LOT of apps, and I can't remember which one's I added recently. So I opened the Google play store and went to view the "my apps and games" section, and opened the "installed" tab. I looked at the options for sorting the list, and the only options were to sort alphabetically, last updated, last used, or by size. Aside from the fact that these options are kind of ridiculous and not useful, THERE IS NO OPTION TO VIEW YOUR INSTALLED APPS IN THE ORDER THEY WERE DOWNLOADED. This used to be the default way your apps were displayed in the play store until nougat came out. It also seems to me like the most logical way to view your apps.
When your phone has an issue, one of the first things you are supposed to do is look at the apps you've recently downloaded, so I'm surprised they don't have that option anymore. Does anyone know of a way to view apps in the order they were downloaded? Maybe I'm just missing something? I would appreciate it if anyone could help me with this issue. Thanks very much for reading...I know this is a long post.
No one else having issues with this huh?

Well you missed the point of my post, which I don't blame you for because it was so long. As I stated, there is a section for viewing installed apps, but there is no way to see them in the chronological order in which they were installed.
