To all SuperOneClick Root Users: On Settings -> Software Update. Do you get anything?
I remember it would give a set of steps checking for update, but now it just does nothing.
Is that just me, or you get it too.
Thank you in advance.
Rooted my Infuse and the software update check works like it did before.
Mine is rooted and Update seems to still be working OK
Mine works OK but no updates are available. Would like to see some Gingerbread in there soon!

Alright so I have a Droid 1. I was originally running 2.1 and was rooted and everything was fine. I found a one click root for froyo so I unrooted my phone and updated to froyo. When the phone was updated I downloaded z4root and rooted my phone and it worked until another update popped up and I agreed to update again. After the new update I had superuser permission still but all Apps that require root failed so I tried rooting again and it says I'm already rooted. I've done everything I can think of and nothing. I do not have a computer so my options are limited. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I just today checked via software update and my P6210 model had a firmware update so I installed it. I have yet to see any changes though.
I unrealisticly was hoping it was ICS, but hopefully it is at least a peroration for ICS.
yes, there is an update, something around 19 mb, device failed to update (tried twice)
any possible reason (may be root)?
it also failed when I tried it at first. Then I followed the instructions and connected it to my computer to have Kies manage the firmware update. Its currently updating and seems to be going fine. I'll report back if it fails.
EDIT: worked like a charm. wonder why it can't do it without kies.
Firmware update took away root, replaced my kernel. garys root still works though, so whatevs.
Ics should be coming soon this year.
Well i might be the last person who is still on honeycomb on the Xoom. I am rooted and unlocked at 3.2.1 - 4G model. I would like to update to ICS but i want to do it safe and be able to save my layout and apps and files and to root it once i update. I get the message to update almost everytime i use my Xoom.

So what`s the problem? Just go ahead and update, you will have everything in place, except root, but you can always root your device again. In case you still want to make sure that everything safe - do the backup first and then hit the button to update to ICS.
I know the newest update isn't a big deal and it only helps Canadians but I still a. want to update and b. Just know for future updates. I have my phone rooted via saferoot and I tried unrooting and updating and it failed. Tried updating while rooted and failed. I'm running android version 4.3 and VRUCML1. Any help would be apprecaited.

I am having the same issue. I don't really care whether the update is applied or not. I just want the annoyingly persistent update message to go away. It is there every time I turn my phone on. Can the update either be applied somehow, or if not, can it be disabled?
Thanks.
Hi folks,
I received the OTA update notification for Android 5 yesterday, downloaded it and while installing it - I received an error and the device restarted to normal Android mode (Kitkat 4.4.4 - Nexus 5). I dont know what went wrong, the OTA notification is gone now. And I tried many times for updating the device via OTA, but there is no update information.
Wanted to know the following things:
1. Does any one had similar problems like this?
2. What really went wrong?
3. Will I get the OTA update or should I follow any of the manual method?
PS: Device Used : Nexus 5 - running Kitkat 4.4.4 - Rooted via TowelRoot - Stock ROM
If you feel I miss any major inputs, please do comment, so I can add it.
TIA Have a Great day !!
If it failed chances are you've made a change to a system app/file which is why it's failing. You have to be 100% stock to successfully apply an OTA update
Thanks for the quick response !!

Does unroot help in here? How about unroot and factory reset?
Will I get the OTA anyway?

If you're the chosen one then, yes, you should get it again.
