What are the different ## codes, what do they do? I've seen them mentioned a couple of times in trying to improve signal on the ns4g... can someone guide me in what I need to do?

So if they get this. Is it possible to strip it down and make something of it for us?

People are just waiting for the drop, then it should be ported for us in a week or so.

the vibrant? I don't think that will help much, haven't they had a leaked copy for a while..
That's a GSM phone like the captivate, we're CDMA (Network)
Admittedly I am still wrapping my brains around all this.
I am understanding that when we flash something we don't actually do anything with the Phone or Radio portion do we ?
If that is the case. The computer part if the SGS phones are basically the same as far as hardware.
If I am incorrect please let me know as it will completely alter my understanding of what we are doing when we flash and MOD ..
I have been picking through the file system and have not found anything that actually controls the radio. But then there are also more than a few files I am unsure of.
I currently own a captivate but now that I have two I am planning on selling and buying a Nexus S.
My question is Im assuming I will not be able to use 3G, however with a custom ROM would I be able to get "H" network or will I only be able to use EDGE?
Thanks in advance

Edge only. T-Mobile and ATT use different network bands. Otherwise I'd own a nexus s as well.

I'm not sure to be honest. If in fact you can get hsdpa or hsupa or hspa with a custom rom or modem. I may purchase one. I can look into it a little.

The answer is no. The physical support is not there - it's not an issue of flashing the appropriate radio.
An AT&T version has been seen in FCC fillings as well as referenced in commits in the git repo - it will be available soon enough. If you get the current version for AWS you're stuck on edge.

Well, you can't. Read the stickies in a forum before posting. Your question was answered there and it would've saved you time in finding your answer. This question gets asked a lot, in spite of the fact it's a stickied FAQ thread.
Also, earch the Nexus S forums for a more thorough answer why, this question has been asked quite a few times. Learning how to use the Search will save you a lot of time in finding your answers and prevent clutter & duplicate questions.
Learning how to read stickies & FAQs will help you (and us) tremendously.

You can't do this for the simple fact that "H" is based off of 3G. The 2 companies use different frequencies for 3G and as such, different hardware is required within the phone. Simply put, no 3g, no H no matter what ROM you flash.
the ATT version is coming soon, probably within the next few weeks. it already went thru FCC testing.
I have searched the sensation forums for this and have had no luck, perhaps I am the only one, but more than likely I have overlooked it somehow. I keep getting text messages from tmobile that say OTA OK. Nothing more. I was just curious if anyone knew what was causing this. Like I said I tried searching but alas found nothing. Also these messages come every minute for about 6 minutes randomly through the day.
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried calling them maybe asking what's up?

Be able to do what?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Flash back to stock if brick. Flash CM7, MIUI, etc... just like Infuse 4g?
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
I came from an Infuse and felt fairly at home on the Skyrocket.
My impression from reading forums is that more people have screwed up this phone than the Infuse because there are so many phones with the Galaxy S II name and people try to mix and match ROMs. Just be careful of that and you should be fine.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Its because people do not read. Obviously there different devices. And common sense says dont flash anything from a different device. Mabye it will break mine. Or mabye i should read and find out if you can on certain devices. But nope nope nope. People dont read and apparantly have very little common sense. So they just flash wrong roms/kernels. Then complain about how its a developers fault or odins fault there brickd.
So bottom line is. Always know what your flashing before attempting to flash anything. Even themes
Yes I noticed people screwed up. Wrong roms. Good thing it can be fixed by return to stock.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
Actually alot of times ot can not be fixed
I have a question..?? Can the skyrocket be unlock for any GSM Carrier just like the Samsung Infuse by using either an app or editor?
No the apps dont work. You gota pay a website like cellunlocker for the code
Hey guys, currently I'm using the x2 with cm7 and wifi tethering with radio mod. I just found out I might have 4h lte where I live, this would speed up my Internet a lot but I'm unsure what phone I should look into getting as far as moding the radio card and best phone all around after rooting.
Thanks

4g phones require a ton more battery. Overall I think the 4G is just another thing to brag about it doesn't greatly enhance the phone at all and the average user will most likely not even be able to tell the difference it's up to you whether you want to shell out that much money though.
I'm using my phone for my home Internet so I'm guessing the 4g is going to make a huge difference compared to 3g and let's face it if I can speed up my Internet it would be worth it, when I'm on the go I would probably just use 3g so battery usage of 4g isn't a huge deal.
