htc hd7 AT commands - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know how to get AT commands list for htc hd7?
I have been able to run the commands on this page
http://www.mobilebroadbandrocks.com/blog/commands-usb-modems
I am hoping there is a command to switch back to zune mode.
The usb_modeswitch.dll might hold the answer...

I did some research and found out most QualComm AT commands work on the HD7. I am able to access phonebook, reset the phone and bunch other stuff. There is also a command to enter diag mode.
I need to figure out what command that USBModeSwitcher dll sends to the phone to switch between zune, router or usb mode.

any opinions on this?

whas this???

HELP

Hi all I know there's been many a post about being stuck in the bootloader and I even went to the wiki to see what to do.
Firstly, when following the wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_Stuck_Bootloader) on the mtty_utility there is no option for USB only comm 1, 2, or 3 (am i being stupid?).
Secondly, I had a guess and tried all the comm's and eventually comm three seemed to be the only one working, but when I type in the commands it does not do anything.
Any help would be greatly appriciated as I would hate to see my uni go its been so good to me.
Thanks in advance
Jo
Please help
The USB option is at the very bottom of the list. Unless your PC isn't registering the ports, you should be able to get MTTY to work for that part at least.
Thanks for the reply but there wasn't a USB option, I've tried everything, I think it may be to do with vista continuously wanting to run mobsync.exe whenever I plug the uni in but there's no way to stop it.
I've tried ending it as a process but mtty still doesn't have the option of USB.
If you have any ideas please post them, am I right in beleiving that you cannot charge in bootloader mode? Or is that just off the USB?
Thanks
Jo
P.S. The laptop I'm using can read other things through the USB ports, and I have tried every port just to double check that they are not all on the same line (ie an internal hub).
I think it may have something to do with Vista... I'm not sure as I don't have a Universal...
If you have access to XP it may be faster and easier...
I think you may be right
I shall wait untill my housemate gets back in, if it doesn't work in safemode!
Cheers for your help anyway!
I shall keep all informed just in case anyone else ever has this problem
Got it working!
Right finally got it working! It took some time but I managed to revive it!
1) Connect your device in bootloader (Hold light button, power button, and reset),
2) Open Windows Mobile Device Center and in connection settings uncheck Allou USB Connections,
3) Goto contol panel-administrative tools-services and start windows mobile device connectivity and windows mobile device 2003 connectivity,
4) goto device manager and find your device and update the driver to the one that can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=313001&highlight=vista (it is the one in the modem folder, do not follow their instructions, it will not work in this case),
5) Open task manager and kill wmdc.exe, or anything with wm infront of it, also kill mobsync.exe
6) Goto: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_Stuck_Bootloader and follow the instructions (you should be able to see USB as an option now).
In mtty it took a couple of commands before it actually executed then once finished it looked as though it were completely dead, but connect the uni to the comp again in bootlaoder mode and all should be well!

PS could someone put this in the wiki under the title "If mtty does not have the USB option in vista" I'm being a dunce and don't really know how to do it

Trying To Register Without a Data Plan (apparently) But...

I need to know more about ADB I guess, like how to get it to stay open when I double click the app if thats even how I open it. Instead the window keeps closing as soon as it opens.
My friend (the one who owns this forum account) just downgraded my G1 from RC33 to 29 and now its asking me to sign in but I can't. Apparently my girlfriend can't either on her phone and we didn't do anything with hers but I just signed her in through wifi since it wasn't on the setup screen like mine was. I on the otherhand am stuck at the beginning and need a way to get around it, I don't know why we lost the data plan we had all of a sudden but I'm not going to bother with that and instead will keep moving forward with an alternative.
I'm completely noob to all things command promp so I don't know what an SDK is, just found out what the ADB is and dled that and the drivers but can't start anything up as of yet. I know my android is at RC29 because of the reboot test on the how to bypass the registration thread.
EDIT: Lmfao I guess I picked a bad time to modify my G1, at the time of this post there is a global outage of T-mobile's internet, everything west of the mississippi river is out so thats why I couldn't sign in before, if this thread gets locked or ignored then its ok, I can just wait it out, but just goes to show murphy's law is the real deal, the day I decide to finally start editing stuff this happens.
I'm not really an expert and I had to learn as I went, but here's how I went through the same problem.
Basically, you don't run ADB as a normal program, you open a command prompt (for vista and xp go to run and type cmd) and then you have to navigate to the folder that ADB is in, so if you have the SDK on your desktop youd type something like
"cd c:\users\yourusername\desktop\SDK\tools" (for vista)
yours will probably differ, but use "cd" to navigate to the folder ADB is in. Then assuming you have your phone and the drivers setup properly, when you're navigated to that folder you can type commands that start with adb or whatever and they should work.
If that doesn't work then your phone may not be setup properly, in which case you need to follow the steps in the registering without a data plan thread, although I had a sim so I skipped the disabling of the insert sim screen. The rest is fairly simple, assuming you've got past the insert sim screen somehow you need to type on your phone
<enter>setprop persist.service.adb.enable 1<enter>
I did this in the email box of the signup so you can actually see what you've typed because you won't know if it's worked until you actually try it. After that again type
<enter>telnetd<enter>
which will allow you to get root access to the phone temporarily, then we connect to your phone from your computer.
In a command prompt on your computer do what I said up top by navigating to the folder ADB is in (c:\users\yourname\desktop\sdk\tools or whatever depending on which version of windows you're on and where the SDK is) and type
adb shell
this will probably say the daemon is not currently running, start the daemon etc.... this is good. If it then gives you a hash (#) at the start of the line you are now accessing your phone from your computer. If not, type
adb devices
and see if it gives you anything under where it says "List of devices attached" in the command prompt. If not it's not recognising your phone so you need to get it to do that first.
Last step when you have this, on your computer type
am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.android.settings/.Settings
which should bring up the page on your phone to enable and manage wifi connections... Connect to your wifi like normal, check it says connected on the settings page and press back and you can register over your wifi.
Hope this helps, I'm no pro but this is how I did it and it worked fine.

[Q] Bypassing Activation?

So I received a fresh Pixi Plus today but I do not want to activate it yet, just mess around with it before I have to activate it. I found two solutions. One of which is devicetool which I would run through command prompt and would bypass for me. This, however, would not connect to my Pixi as windows can't find drivers. If anybody has Win7 drivers that would help.
The other solution is this:
http://forums.precentral.net/palm-p...ctor-guide-bypass-carrier-activation-etc.html
But it claims that I shouldn't bypass activation if I plan on using the Cellular Radio. Will I really not be able to use it as a phone if I follow the guide?
Edit: Seems I got it. Just needed the Palm SDK heh
Hopefully I can still activate later though :/
Should be able just to go into Dev mode, I did it with my 2 pres.
I couldn't get into Dev Mode because the activation screen wouldn't let me pass. I got it though. I will be activating this though. I am really enjoying WebOS right now. Very clean.
You should be able to by going into the emergency dialer, I forget the code for dev mode though for WebOS.

I have attached an edited driver for Windows 7 in a zip. Just extract zip, unplug device, install the driver, plug in device, enjoy.
@dastin1015

There's a Universal Novacom Installer over at Pre Central: http://forums.precentral.net/canuck-coding/278224-universal-novacom-installer-uni-v1-2-1-a.html

Sorry late reply but those drivers work for my Windows 7 64bit
Sent from my HTC Hero making C.R.E.A.M.
dev code in dialer for webos, that does sound interesting lol
I just used this and it worked
"hey guys, I'm quite surprised to see no one actually managed to bypass the activation screen, or at least no one has posted the solution yet. Here we go:
1. Download the activtion bypass tool from downloads.palm.com/sdkdownloads/ActivationBypass/2010-04-16/devicetool.jar and save it where you like
2. Get to phone to run in USB mode: depending on the OS this can be a struggle or very easy. The difficult way:
- take out the battery
- press the phones 'volume up' button and keep pressing it during the following steps
- plug in the usb cable while
- put in the battery and release the 'volume up' button
If this doesn't work, you're lucky. It'll then work like this:
- keep the phone as it is, with battery and cover in place and press the 'volume up' button
- plug in the usb cable and release the volume up button
The phone is in recovery mode now, you should see the USB logo on the screen
3. From the command line (in the location where you saved the bypass tool) enter java -jar devicetool.jar
And there you are. Easy as 1.2.3.
Maybe someone can help me how to activate the phone once it's bypassed? I haven't gotten so far yet"
I put the file on my c: drive so that it was easier to get to in the command prompt

Setting up ADB on macbook

I've been trying to setup ADB on my Mac book and followed a tutorial but after typing "ADB devices" it says devices connected and then no serial number as it is supposed to. I'm wondering if anyone had this problem with their thunderbolt? Here is the tutorial it used:
http://esausilva.com/2010/10/02/how-to-set-up-adb-android-debug-bridge-in-mac-osx
Any help would be appreciated.

Does this at least mean that the thunderbolt is not connected?

Double check USB Debugging is on.
It works just fine on my iMac. Though the way I have it set up, I have to type "./adb devices"
Have you tried doing anything past there? See if any other commands actually work. Try to install something, or read the log.
Just in case someone comes to is problem i've found the answer. I have the Easythether app installed and the driver for it conflicts with allowing adb and your computer to connect with your phone. The solution is pretty simple you have to either disable the driver on the mac everyone you want to debug or remove it altogether. Here is a page explaining the process.

How do I enable adb debugging and otg with a black screen and no otg cable?

Hello, I just broke the screen of my OnePlus8t Verizon network unlocked phone. The computer I previously linked 8t with also has a broken screen. ... Rains it ..... My Phoe has some important information in docs and screenshots I need to get. I just turned off ADB debugging thinking "Oh I don't need that just yet" the very morning I broke the LCD. Good news, I can still answer it. I already have adb.exe except in ADB shell it shows as unauthorized. I need those files like yesterday. I have an otg/ADB flash drive, but I still can not connect to retrieve files. I can see my phone when I directly connect to comp without the flash drive, however, I can not access it. I have tried to put the phone into recovery, but I have no way to enter the pin as I have tried to guess where it is. How can I receive the data I need from my phone?
Thank You.
P.S. I have little knowledge and only learn what I need to know for whatever project, in other words, I can not code and I barely speak dos.
Is the touch screen still working then?
If it's showing "unauthorized" you can try to plug it into your desktop and then hit the "authorize" button on the popup that you can't see.
Here is where ok is on a different phone. It's somewhere near there on yours.

I have tried that. The finger print unlock screen only works ⅔ of the time. I have no way of knowing if it's unlocked. I keep my touch sounds silent. I keep trying to find where it might be. I have tried to slide as if answering a call. Is there a way to force the USB settings for media transfer? Maybe through Google? If any platform knows it's my phone is Google. I can go to the play store and push apps onto it. Unfortunately the two adb drivers I have installed on my Android didnt work.
Oh, actually, you've got it easier! The OnePlus 8t supports HDMI over USB Type C.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/does-one-plus-8t-have-video-out-through-usb-c.4465629/
Buy an adapter and hook up an HDMI monitor/TV.
Or just use a new monitor on the computer that is already authorized.
Is there any other way. Right now it is not with in the budget to afford any extras even with the price tag of $20. I am hoping there is a way within an adb shell to force turn on the adb debugging. I have developer options enabled. I would just rewrite the documents, except some of those items I need include the text messaging history. If I can't force the adb, can I remotely back up the phone? Is there a trustworthy app for that? I do have quick settings installed and if my memory is correct, I believe I have sideline installed even.
