Good stable Rom and easy on the battery? - HTC Inspire 4G

Hey I was wondering which Rom in it opinion is good I'm asking dis coz I just don't feel like flashing 20 different roms so I just wanna narrow my candidates down.

U should get coredroid when they realead update 6.6 I'm waiting on it.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App

I use Leedroid with its own kernel will run nice and very very easy on battery

I second leedroid. I've literally tried Android revolution hd, coredroid, and leedroid, and leedroid seems to be the fastest, smoothest, and stable as far as I'm concerned with the ability to o/c up to 1.8ghz if you're into that sort of thing. Thanks developers!

Every rom will work differently for everyone, best is to try which works best for you. I am using TB Fusion 1.1.2
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App

i find Gingerbeast to be best on battery, as well as really stable. If you don't want sense and want Gingerbread 2.3.4 the way Google meant it, this is your Rom. Quick, smooth, and reliable.

How is cm7 on the inspire?
Sent from my dying HTC Inspire 4G

Cm7 is marvelous
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App

i have leedroid...first rom i have tried and it seems very stable and quick, im also using leedroid's kernel
cant say too much about battery life yet, but it seems pretty good
8 hours 48 mins.... from 98 to 67% with light usage...

I'm using CM7, and my battery lasts almost twice as long, with just a few apps running. IMO, HTC Sense is the problem causing massive battery drain. But I tend to like Android as it was intended to be.

CM7 or anything based on it is great. It's ran the smoothest for me.
Sent using my Cirrus 6-string

are you guys using cm7 or cm7 nightly?
whats the difference anyways?
yea ill admit im trying to get my post count up, i could search....but i want to leave feedback in the dev section sooo....

I have found these 2 Roms the best for battery life.
Cleardroid and CM7 (not nightly)

Nightlies are updated pretty much every day. Not "stable" and experimental. I'm currently running CM7 Nightly 84 (downloading 85 right now) and i have pretty good battery life using LordMod's UEv2.0 VIO kernel with -25 script. I jumped on board the CM7 Nightly train from Android Revolution 5.1.5 (now 5.1.7) to try out Netflix, which works great. Though my battery life with ARHD 5.1.5 and I think it was Apache's kernel was fricking amazing. I could go two days between charges with normal/light usage.

Men there are many roms, i thing the Best is CoreDroid v6.6 Even leeDroid (Reboot issue)

Inspired ACE 1.0.1 + MDJ's Kernel V19
This is my Inspire after moderate use, always WIFI ON.
FaceBook+Twitter+Weather // Updating Data every Hour.
I tested every single Rom (I have 3 Inspires) this is THE BEST combination I found for battery life.

I have tried so many different ROMS and have always come back to Inspired Ace 1.0.1 I have it heavily modded with lots of Sense 3.0 components and still the battery life is more than exceptable for me and the performance (even moderatly overclocked to 1.21) is clean and smooth.
i do have to say though that if you dont want the Sense experience then CM7 has to be the best out there. but for my taste i like the frills and bling theat Sense provide.
P.S. keep in mind that overclocking, even moderately is not recomended. And since all hardware reacts differently your inspire may not tolerate being overclocked or it may tolerate it even better than mine. Battery life as always is not an objective reference but subjective my use may be far less than yours and it all depends on what you are using it for.

so many to choose from, i keep going back to cm7 based personally. Recently been using mdj cm7.1.0 v1.4 with the latest lordmod kernal PUV. The rom can be found in the Desire HD section. Just flash the audio fix after flashing the rom. So fast yet has the least battery drain. On standby, I hardly draw any juice at all! TPGB is a great choice as well!

I have my wife's inspire running Inspired Saga (100% stable) using the 12.35..... radio and juice defender app. She avgs 1d 4hrs on a single charge. And yes that includes a few hours of angry birds. She has been running it for the last month. And i have yet to do anything to it since flashing the rom. No fc's no reboots etc. It runs flawlessly.

I am using miui 1.7.29. Read about some problems with the new version so I will stay at the "old" one cause its running pretty good
Btw I would like to see more Roms but I hope there will be more in the future.

Rooted stock, I tried CM7, but it was very unstable, keyboard sucked and interface wasn't that cool either. I'm thinking about some Sense 3 ROM, but reading about all of those bugs... Too bad we don't have more custom ROMs and Kernels.

if you like stock feel you should try LBC rom it is much better than stock ,you can always return to stock if you want for warrenty
if you want sense 3.0 you should try Virtuous Unity it only has a few minor graphical bugs
I have tried Virtuous Unity (1.27 at the time). It was nice to try some of the Sense 3.0 stuff, quite stable. I found some strange problems with widgets on adw.launcher and so I moved on to look at some other roms.
Next up I tried LBC. This is a nice and stable rom. No complaints.
I did want to move to CyanogenMod though, so I next tried out Superkid's compiled 7.1 beta (v1.1). I did like it and am impressed. The only issues I found were the known issue that airplane mode draws weirdly excessive battery and I had an issue where subsequently on recharging the phone reported being fully charged at only 92%(?!).
I will be returning to CyanogenMod down the track but I have voted for LBC as I will be using it in the mean time.
I would like to say thanks to all the various developers for the time and effort they have put into these roms.
miui & stock
I use LBC

switching between LBC and virtuous
Using LBC MOD for the past 2 days, did a full wipe + the EXT4 flash, few problems -
1) Battery drain, idle stats - 40-45 mA & in use 90-190 mA.
2) Has hung twice till now since loading.
3) After reboot the screens with widgets take longer to populate and the swiping is laggy and unresponsive
Have I done something wrong or is it better to go back to the stock rom till the problems are taken care of? If anyone could assist with answers. Thanks
Virtuous Unity at the moment...
Maybe switching to MiUi
Tried lbc, virtuous and coredroid. Coredroid best in my opinion.

Use the latest radio 1.48.00.0609w_1, 0.01.76.0609w_2.
Sense or aosp, I suggest imoyesons leankernel or jdkoreclipes kernel. They both make sense and aosp kernels and both are top notch.

Love mine, though I have very poor GPS performance and so-so battery life when I first got it in the April timeframe. Since then, the various ROMs have improved it to the point that I don't even care what's coming out now. I'm running BAMF SoaB 1.03 with the latest radio and it's great.

I came from a Droid X and can say that the Thunderbolt is a better phone. I have a few annoyances with it but mainly how it works or doesn't work with Ford Sync. The battery is depressing but I don't want the bulky extended battery. I have Juice Defender on it now and that has helped immensely through the day. I had 54% left on my battery after 8 hours at work with light usage. Before that I was at below 30% after 4 hours. I may still get an extended battery just for when I travel, but this works for me around town.
where would I find soab? Looked everywhere
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Google it. You need to go on a BAMF forum. I dont think they post here.
oh, thats what I tried. Ill google it again
in short, what setup would provide best battery life based off experience amongst thunderbolt users?
Start with the SOAB with the stock kernel, so that you have a baseline then you can try Adr's test 3 or Imo's kernel to see if they make much a difference or not.
I don't think you will get a definitive answer without trying each out on your own phone and objectively seeing which one works best for you and your particular phone.
Good luck.
I agree. Ive been around android for three years and what works best for me does not for everyone else. I was looking for an experienced based answer. The bolt I bought already has soab on it.
Gotcha. I'm using SOAB with Adr's test 3 kernel. Works great for me because I can overclock now, but battery life is about the same as it was with the stock package SOAB kernel.
I've been getting great battery life on SoaB, starting with 1.02 and now on 1.03 since it was released and the kernel that comes with it. Prior to that I was using Eaton GTP, the Froyo build, and it gets phenomenal battery life. Can't wait for them to get their Gingerbread build with Sense 3.5.

if you want insane battery life on soab flash the ziggy kernel beta one and set cpu low to the lowest setting andturn off gps and wifi and mobile antennas when not using them. i was getting 2% drop per hour this way. i went from 8 am to 8:30 pm with no charging and still had 72% battery life left also i overclocked to 1.2.
right now i am on miui wich is sick once they fix the mms it will be amazing. but i am using advanced task killer set to automatically kill apps when the screen turns off and green battery to do the same with the wifi and mobile anteannas.

[Q] Best and Fastest ROM + Kernel

What is the Fastest ROM and Kernel out there for the Desire S ?
-Sense Rom and
- CM7 Rom
This question has been asked too many times
But to answer the question, go for oxygen or cyanogenmod if you want speed
Use tiamat for overclocking or just stick with the cm kernel. I found it didn't really make a difference
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
I am very pleased with my current combination of Tiamat and Miui, its very fast and smooth with zero glitches or crashes.
i only found a Desire Version of the Oxygen Rom, can i take this version ?
No you cannot. Do not try it.
Here is the link for oxygen.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1235864
There is still one issue but if that bothers you try out cyanogenmod.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
here the link, if u want to try cyanogen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297575
IMO, stock sense 3.0 and android 2.3.5 is fast and smooth as cyanogenmod and miui but the difference is only used heavier resource.
I'm using Endymion V2.2, its fast and stable
I'm using stock gingerbread launcher and cm7.1 and tiamat kernel 1.1.5 fast and stable
im not sure of kernals but, felt oxygen is slightly more faster than cyanogenmod nightly build 52 during my use...
I'm using the Virtuous Rom for my Desire S. Works smooth and ist also stable with a CPU underclocked to 100mhz. Cause I'm new to the Forum I cant post the Link but the domain is: virtuousrom.com
Ok, i will try first the Virtuos ROM ad then the CM7 Stable and Nightly
CM7 all the way its so fast and great battery life
I am using CM7 for a while now. I think it's pretty good. Also, flashed Tiamat kernel an hour ago. Seen some YT videos saying that this kernel is fast and gives battery a good run. Well, I'll hope it's all true.
Of you decide to go with sense, I recommend sense 3.5 ROM as they are significantly faster than sense 3.0 ROMs

[Q] Battery life ROM

I've run Cyanogen ROMS, Senseay, InsertCoin, and ARHD. I'm a pretty heavy user I would say, I get up at 6:00 in the morning, and my battery is usually dead by the afternoon if I don't charge it. To me the roms all seem the same as far as battery life is concerned. Anybody have input as to what roms have given you great battery life, any apps you have that help or what you do it improve battery life?
Thanks
Buy another battery? Im a heavy user and i get about 8/9 hrs. Lasts all day with moderate usage.

try miui! perfect battery life!
With light to moderate use on the newest ARHD ICS 5.0.2, I am still sitting on 55% battery life.. and i've been off the charger for 27 hours now using the anker 1900mAh battery. Make sure you match recommended radio's and rils.

Mind telling me which MIUM ROM version you're running? I've never run MIUI and from what I see there is only one am I right? Most recent version is 1.12.23. If I run that with kernal 1.6 I should have great battery life? I'm not doubting you I'm actually really interested to try this, just want to make sure I get the same configuration as you have to see if I can get similar results. Thanks for the reply.
Also I have the normal sensation 4G not the XE, I noticed the bricked kernel V1.6 says XE, is that problematic with my phone or should I use V1.5?
I must say that ICS4.0 gave me much metter batt.life! im using ARHD 4.0.2 and using stock battery. batterylife is now better then stock ROM (android 2.3.4)
really think you should give it a try. (new firmware will give it even better i think, havent tried)
Try to wipe battery stats.

ROM Recommendation please?

I haven't rooted/modded in awhile. I used to just use CM7 when I first got the phone. I've gone through 3 replacements now and have yet to mod it. Can you guys recommend the best ROM for the specifics I'm looking for?
-Has to have wifi calling (this is a must i barely get 1 bar to no svc in my apartment)
-has to record in 1080
-has to have HDMI working
Please let me know which ROM you'd recommend? I'm tired of the stock always getting the black screen of death and the random reboots. Tmobile said they can't exchange it anymore. Thanks!

Weapon or Tsugi. Love weapon G2x because it is really stable amd has great toggles. Tsugi is great also but i really want the toggles.

Ran 2.3.3 eaglesblood for the longest and it was very stable, but I really like voodoo and the faux123 kernel for ota based roms kept freezing and rebooting my phone worse than the stock ROM/kernel and it took forever to reboot due to the cache rebuild issue. Then I tried RG2x MIUI and loved it but had too many bugs...plus MIUI has a bit of a learning curve to it. Now I'm on phoenixblood 1.4 with faux123 cm7 based kernel and so far everything is great. Only been a couple days but so far fast, smooth and stable!
If you don't care about overclocking or voodoo sound, then eaglesblood 2.3.3 based is very stable and fast.

I would also recommend one of the Eagle's Blood or Phoenix Blood Variants. Quick and stable. Good Luck!

I've been using Weapon 2.6 since the day it was released. I also need WiFi calling.
Just install the LG cam 3.0 add-on and your set. I can also confirm that HDMI works nicely.
FWIW; I'v installed every iteration of Weapon as it was released. V 2.6 is the most stable for me.
I just got done trying the wajkui, and it worked pretty damn good. CM 7 worked pretty well for me too, and I have finally moved on to Bionix. It is all about finding which rom works best for you. Download a rom and try it out for a week, and flash another until you find what works. There are so many people who have made great roms, I am starting to get addicted to flashing one rom for a week and flashing another one the next week.
Bionix works really, really well for me and it's in active development. I've had good and bad experiences with Weapon, and I've also tried Tsugi and MIUI. So far Bionix has been the best for me. Good battery life, very responsive and most recently no random reboots.
If youre looking for straight style, go with MIUI. It looks great and theres plenty of very smooth themes out there I use a custom port called Singh-UI, its a bit more stable.
If youre looking for more customizations, go with CM7 Nightlies or Phoenixblood
I have tried all but right now I think the best two are Singh or WajkIUI both are MIUI ports.

Phoenix Blood is what I am using now. Was using Weapon because I thought no other ROM could match it's battery life and stability. This was after trying MIUI ports, CM7, etc. Phoenix Blood is stable, smooth, and I EASILY get a full day out of it with pretty heavy use. But, it all depends on what you are looking for, stylistically I mean.
Phoenix blood runs great on my phone, with very few bugs, it also gets frequent updates
I've only flashed CM7S, so i can't compare it to anything. I figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it! But I'm using CM7s latest nightly with faux123s CM OC/UV v0.4.8 kernel. I like all themes there are for CM7. Oh, and of course the great performance and awesome battery life I'm getting is good too. Best thing to do would be, backup and flash a new ROM every week or so and see which is better
