Hello All!(Well mainly just Softbank users)
Some of us haven't been able to use custom ROMs made for any other DHD's(due to extreme battery drain on a lot of devices) and if you do the official GingerBread update you have to go through the hassle of re-rooting and all that.
SO, I decided to make a near stock version of Gingerbread 2.3.3 with sense 2.1 based off of the official Softbank RUU flashable through CWM.

Sorry about the keyboard issue, i am uploading new version that is exactly the same, but with noextra keyboard added it causes alot of FC's until you uninstall the .apk....New ROM has one FC at initial setup screen but that seems to be it!

The current Internet explorer when it opens up the writing is in a foreign language to me I would like when the browser open the language should be in English.
Also there is no mms in messaging is there an mms apk available for this rom.

The browser as far as I know can't change your locale its self.. yahoo is just seeing that your ip address is in Japan so it brings up the Japanese site... Try to find the settings on yahoos page or use a proxy site
And as far as mms I have tried a few different methods to get mms working and still have not been able to get multimedia messages to send or recieve... Trust me I will keep looking into it though!

In Yahoo setting page there is a Corporate Account Connection the box is tick, what is that for I hope its not your personal account as it requires a password to untick the box

Just curious to know, does this rom come with radio and riil?which version is it?i read somewhere that if u flash custom rom, yet u flash the right radio for ur carrier,then batt drain wont be an issue. I myseld hasnt tried it yet. I use lee rom and with minimum to medium usage,mine last for half day, and yes, 4 hours with heave usage...

Ive got my screen on bright, bluetooth,gps,and wifi on. Want to cycle the battery and wipe the stats but its draining so slow. Love the rom. The seo addons work. I added the sense 3 goodies. Love the rom.

That is exactly why I ask.... I haven't downloaded this nor checked the link. Just happen to cross a question about what makes it batt drain free. If they come together (in a separate file) with a radio and riil. That might be why this rom saves battery,which might answer the above

HI friends! as u all know i hav exams starting 25th to 15th june.
i can't work on something new for now, becoz it would eat my atleast 2 days for building the rom.
so providing a simple alternative, i hope u all like it.
First of all thanks to pual, and lots of others.
i m using this rom since last few days. and its working awesome.
Details:
its based on ahmgskmod desire sense rom
it does not hav a2sd (avoiding till usb bricking issue is solved)
using stock kernel (u can use any other as u wish)
u get approx 140mb free space (max u can get) -> will try to unlock more
usb tether works awesome (htc default)
camera works 5mp.
using launcherpro (best for now)
using diff music app
removed htc rosie & rosie related apps
added android twitter app (best app)
Issues:
using 3d gallery dont use camera icon on top it force closes for now
I wont be able to give 100% answer to questions, senior members please cover for me.
-> cm605 will be updated after exams (sorry but it req lots of work)
-> same thing with froyo
becoz if i put my head in that i wont be able to write my exam.
if there is issue in upload let me know -> my net is not working properly so it might happen

Can I somehow extract your camera fix and use it with the modaco online kitchen? It's really important to me to not have any HTC UI. If what I suggest is possible, which folders from your zip would I need to use?

Ah fair enough, I wouldnt bother working on it now tbh mate, stick with getting Froyo working properly 2.1 is advanced as it's going to get now.

I would start first with buildprop and next check out the update script. That always works for me.
Can you be a little more specific? I'm having issues still... I've done everything.. even went back to a fresh PC36IMG.zip flash. Any ideas?
I've also flashed the new stock OTA rooted ZIP that flipz and toast put out. Nothing.
Can't see apps like Dropbox, like Twidroid, etc. "Copy protected" apps.

Well, it's been a long time coming, and in typical VillainROM fashion, we hope it's been worth the wait.
Many of you will know our work from the HTC Hero community; work which started just under a year ago and grew into a team of developers, themers and systems administrators working to produce THE most popular ROMs on the Hero.
Some of us recently attended the HTC press event in London, where we were asked by many, many disgruntled Desire users when we were going to release some ROMs for the device. The good news is, today is the day. For anyone that's been waiting for our ROMs, I apologise for the wait.
So... why the delay?
Yes, you guessed it... midgets. I'm not talking about the little sweets, either... I'm talking about the little fellas. It's nothing at all to do with the fact that I have been lazy, despite having dozens of angry Desire owners (including many of our team) hassling me day in, day out. No, it's not that at all; it's the midgets.
I won't pretend I don't feel guilty about it, though. I'm as guilty as Alan Carr is gay. And that's pretty guilty.
Many of our team own the HTC Desire, so expect to see several of our ROMs appearing on this forum in the future. It's an exciting time to be a Desire owner, with so many talented developers around working on it... not to mention the upcoming release of the Desire HD, and the HTC kernel sources.
So that you're kept in the loop, so to speak, this is one of a series of ROMs for the HTC Desire that will be released over the coming fortnight (ideally). In no particular order, the other ROMs that we'll be releasing in the near future are:
- SuperVillain 1.0.0 (Based on VR 1.0.0 with Rosie, widgets and a lot of other Sense UI stripped out for speed. This will come in 2 versions... LP and ADW).
- FroydVillain 1.0.0 (A pure, AOSP build. Immensely fast, but currently quite buggy. This will be sorted prior to release)
- VillainROM HD (I'm working on a stripped down version of this ROM that installs without the need to store half the system folder on your SD EXT partition. This isn't too far away from release now).
Anyway, I've rambled enough. Many of you haven't read this far, and are already thinking 'TL : DR'. I have no doubt about this. I don't care though. That being said, I will 'get to the point' right about now.
Welcome to VillainROM 1.0.0
VillainROM is the name given to our ROMs based entirely on the manufacturers latest update, similarly to the Modaco Custom Roms. We've tried to keep it as standard as possible, adding only a few extra, essential features here and there, with our own, typical modifications. Please don't expect this to be groundbreaking, but if you're after a stable, close to stock, heavily supported ROM, then VillainROM is the right choice for you. As with all of the ROMs on offer from Team Villain, updates will be regular and meaningful.

I am testing this one... I found that gmail it is not the latest 2.3... I am trying to upgrade from market but It wont let me install it... :-( there is any way to do????

Since this rom has the System R/W access - overlay method u should be able to delete the gmail app apk file in the system/app using root explorer.. After that reboot the phone and install the latest gmail app from the market... Hope this help..

Or you could just flash the attached file as you would a ROM.

It was found to be the cause of battery drainage plus its not rly living up to the Wifi N speeds, to the extent of being more of a flaw than anything else

This ROM is from GOOGLE sources, so it isn't based on cyanogen or sense. The kernel is cyanogen's stock, and soon I will use vork's kernel.

Um... hard to tell, but no massive drain issues.
Hey rom looks great, downloading the theme now. However noticed I get FC when I try to use the video option on the camera app, also there are no APN's.
Tried theme out its awesome. Slight bug on the notification bar flickering, also app drawer is a bit laggy. But I'm sure these problems will be resolved in time. Good Work

Go to menu - settings - application - manage applications, you can see the remove applications and use it.
Do any of you guys have a problem editing the list of locations in the weather app on this ROM?
I installed it last night, everything works great but I can't update the weather app with multiple locations.
Also - how do you guys find battery life with this ROM and is there anything that we can do to improve it?
Battery life is pretty good, and the update for 1.29.0 just arrived so maybe you could update to the latest version.
Did you guys notice that the Voice Search is no longer working after flashing 1.27.0? or is it just my phone? COme to think of it, I didn't check if it was working before I flashed my phone.
maybe you should read the change log first...it helps a lot to know what you'll get after rom flashing..
Yes did realize that voice search is not working, not fixed at 1.29.0 yet...

Any ideas whether the second pack can be installed on 1.29.0?

I'll try, performing a backup right now just to be safe.
Will give you an update once i've checked if everything works.
Edit: I've installed it and everything seems to work,
everything still looks right and the windows animations are neat (not entirely my taste though).
Don't know if there might be anything wrong with in the long run though, so don't just rely on me.
