AUX port sound in vehicle - T-Mobile LG G2x

I have been trying to find a good App for my music in my truck. I just came from ATT Captivate and found PowerAmp and either Voodoo or Audioboost, if my ROM didn't have Voodoo. I have a factory subwoofer in my truck, and that mix on the Cappy produced amazing results.
On the G2x, I've tried a couple different apps, but nothing even close. Anyone have any ideas? Unfortunately, Audioboost isn't supported on G2x.

I use Poweramp. Sounds great with the Bose speakers in my Max.

If you are running a 2.3 build, look on the market for "Equalizer" by Smart Android Apps, LLC (won't show up with 2.2) - works very well for me!

Any good music players out?

I cant stand the regular music player.. its horrible... is there a better player like the galaxy s or sense music player available... I have the latest darkslide 4.2 rom and this will put my phone over the top

try miui music. that seems to be all the rave. I personally love the 2.2.1 com.android.music.apk... but don't know if its compatable with droid x.. can be found in the eris forums under development/froshedyo/version 7. long press volume to skip tracks but a similar UI just no visuals so it runs smooth

Doubletwist with AirSync.
PowerAmp. Best player out now, sound is terrific, and the EQ allows for audio tweaking to fit anyone's taste. Costs 4.99 in the market, but is definitely worth it if you care how your music sounds.

Its free on the market
It can do wifi sync if you have Winamp installed on your computer
I use mSpot. Its an awesome cloud based music player
+1 More for PowerAMP.
Lithium user here...and I personally love it.
The UI was just so original that I had to have it. I even went through the trouble of asking the dev to put it up on SlideMe market...as my bank won't allow charges in a foreign currency.
*OT*
Goddamn market...I swear...please convert currency FOR ME so my bank allows me to buy foreign applications...Too many times; I've wanted an app...but had to pirate it because it wasn't in the market or SlideME.
Player Pro (Paid) or Lithium Player (Paid). I hate the stock android player - no intuition whatsoever. I hate Apple products but the iPod/Phone music player is very nice.
I didn't hate the stock music player, but I downloaded the "leaked 2.3 music player apk" and I love the look and feel to it. With that app open, it feels like I am on an actual mp3 player and not a phone.

Glad to hear it. Mine worked amazing up until changing a few phone files for theme-ing. Now my music skips when running in the background if I'm doing any type of navigation on my phone (scrolling through apps, looking through facebook) Have you run into anything like that with the leaked app?

I've noticed this. Also, tons of forcecloses with the honeycomb music app.
One of the forum members on this site leaked a new motorola media player, its been reviewed on several droid blogs to be great, but apparently Motorola made him take it down.
tried real player yet? its not bad

There's a few apps out there, DSP Manager and MusicFX but I haven't found anything like Voodoo sound for the Galaxy S, which is SICK. We gotta convince supercurio to get an Inspire

Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
You wouldn't have a link to dsp I searched xda and the two dsp zip files I found keep aborting in recovery I don't know if its because I have recovery 3.0
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
you need a supported kernel like the one in cyanogen 7 to use the DSP Manager app. DSP comes in cyan 7 ROM anyway...
OP did you try enabling the SRS function in audio? i heard it increases the volume.
also if any 2.3 ROMs are out there, a new API lets us now tap in to the volume so this would probably work on any 2.3 ROM:

Nexus s 4g stock music player???

So I rooted my ns4g pretty much the minute I got it and I noticed there isn't a stock player??? It could be the rom I flashes doesn't have one but I didnt notice it when it was stock either. Any feedback??

It does have a stock player. It is called "Music."
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Yep and it is actually a darn decent player too. Still using poweramp since I paid for it and has an eq but the default music player imo is easier to navigate while on the run.

Ok so I looked through my apps and I have one called music but I'm pretty sure thats the google music beta app I downloaded. The Icon is an orange set of Headphones. My Epic 4G had a music player that had an equalizer which I loved!
Remember the Nexus is vanilla android, the galaxy is castrated by Samsung and touchwiz.

There are good free eq apps in the market that add a menu option to music apps using 2.3+. I like flat with my klipsch s4, but it helps greatly for my cold shure ec2. I use "equalizer" from smart android apps.
Look for the eq in the sound effects menu option. That menu option is only available on the playback view, not in any of the library views.

Winamp is a pretty decent music app for the Android as well. I use that rather than Google's stock music player.
Which rom are you using? I put the new google music player in becuase the market will keep telling you you have an update. TBH, I like the new one better anyway. If you want the aosp out-of-box player, I can give it to you.

The only thing I didn't like about the music player is the absence of an equalizer, but I dl'ed the equalizer app and it works flawlessly! Thanks

Built in Equalizer

Not sure if this is old news to everyone else, but I just stumbled across it (a month later) But the default music player has a built in equalizer. If you press the menu button while the app is open and tap settings it's there. You can also turn on a little visualization. Like I said not sure if everyone else knows this , but it's kinda cool.
Looool I thought I had noticed it late too. Inha en used google music but voodoo and 5.1 surround sound sound awesome ha. The

Lol, good I don't feel so bad now. I just purchased these little IHome speakers http://www.ihomeaudio.com/iHM60GX/ and they sound really good when you adjust the EQ!
I personally like the stock player with Voodoo sound.
I use it in my car plugged into the
Aux. Port. Great sound!

I agree with Corvette Dave. I purchased the HU in my truck for the USB port but I actually use my phone and the AUX port more. The infuse with voodoo sound sounds great with the stock player.

Yeah, products seldom ship with hardcopy manuals anymore. You have to download it from the product page (which the forum isn't letting me link to, but just Google "infuse manual").
personally I prefer using the DSPManager from cyanogen mod rom. It works great even without CM7 installed

I couldnt really notice a huge difference through headphones, but when plugged up to my cars stereo which i have put some money into i can notice a huge difference.
Thanks guys greatly Appreciated I use it in my car as well I got full custom system
Sent from my rocket on the galaxy 3 leak
Beats is nothing more than a software equalizer. For the same effect (plus a lot more customization), try Volume+ from the Play Store. It even has a "Beats" mode.
There's also Equalizer by smart android, I've got it on my phone & the difference is awesome!

I'm wondering this as well. I've been using Mort Player for music (unless someone can recommend something else for audiobooks/podcasts), but the EQ settings between Mort and other external EQs don't seem to make a big difference (and it should, based on my headphones)
Here. Both .zip files are to be flashed in CWM. Beats Music Player is pretty sexy too. The music player can be installed on any ROM. No need to push. You can download and install or simply bake in ur own custom cake, ...fruit.

The player is not that great.
But, you don't have to do all this to get the Codec's/Drivers and the improved sound quality.
Just download the "Beats Audio Installer" from the Google play store (Free), run it, reboot the phone and use your favorite media player.
I have awesome BEATS. When using it with just phone speakers, No big difference. When in the car with a loaded system, GIANT difference!
Is the huge difference when playing through headphone jack?

I've tries both I'd rather have awesome beats because Beats Audio causes in call volume low I've notice and it stops certain equalizers from working

I don't ever listen through headphones, but listening via bluetooth with my car stereo, it does sound much better. The most reliable way I know of to install is through the Aroma KoaK zip installer v.847 which can be found in boobah's thread here.
