Im trying to install the OTA update located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058042
Every time I try to boot into HBOOT my phone just sits at the HBOOT menu and does nothing...phone is rooted, s-off, and fasboot is disabled yet no matter how many times i have tried my phone doesn't search for PD98IMG.zip (which i renamed the file to, and put on the root of my SD card)
Any ideas?
Make sure its not in a folder and that theres no other zip file on the external SD card.
Try removing the pd98img zip from ur SD card then boot into hboot & see if it even goes through the process of looking for the file. If it does u might want to try & redownload the file, maybe it became corrupted the first time.

no offense taken at all. yep, tried turning it off using the power button and choosing "turn off" then volume down & power to turn it on...stuck at hboot menu.
also tried pulling the battery for 5 minutes and using volume down & power, same result; stuck at hboot menu
I tried booting the phone without the SD card in there (it's the SD card from the box) and I was able to scroll through the options at least but when I hit the power button when HBOOT is selected; still nothing happens.

Hey at least you got it working.
Maybe something happened to your SD during the root process. Could always try formatting the old card and see if that fixes it...at least you would have a back up.

I've read somewhere that mounting and dismounting your sdcard improperly slowly damages it and can cause your bootloader not to read it..

I'm running CoreDroid v5, and WiFi was working fine, and then all of a sudden yesterday it just stopped working. It keeps trying to connect to the network and then eventually it says it's unable to connect to the WiFi network...Is there anything I can do to fix this?

No just don't wipe. And make sure you flash the same rom
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
I still have the CoreDroid ROM on my SD card, so should I just flash it again with ROM Manager or should I delete it and download it to my SD card again?
Okay so I've tried a backup (within ROM Manager) and I've tried flashing my ROM again (without wiping) and both just go to a blank screen. The screen is still on, but it doesn't do anything...I left it for over an hour...and nothing...
I still don't know what to do...It's really annoying to have to use internet pass-through every time I want to connect to the internet...I want my WiFi back!
Can you boot into cwm?
I don't think so...I get to a blank screen (yet the screen is still on) and the only way to fix it is to press the power button or take out the battery, and either one just turns it on to the regular phone...Same thing happens when I try to backup (from ROM Manager) and when I try to flash a ROM (via ROM Manager)

Yeah but I can't backup....
Also, for option 1, I already have PD98IMG on my SD card from when I rooted, so I can just use that...but what do I do with it?

No that PD98IMG is different than the one from when you rooted. Follow the steps in that thread.
Follow what steps? It just says put it on the SD Card and boot into HBOOT...then what?

Yeah I got into Recovery fine. I'm backing up now, then I'll try to flash CoreDroid v5.1.

So, that fixed the blank screen problem?
I Had it rooted.. Tried to flash RCMix3D Kingdom V1.9.
Followed the Video Exactly. The phone sat for 30 min at the HTC screen and would not boot. So then i tried to get into recovery by holding down the Power and Vol. It went into it 1 time and reloaded the Rooted img. Since then i cant get the phone into recovery either with Rom Manager or by Holding down the Power and Vol buttons. Fast boot is disabled.
Any Ideas?

Remove the SD card from the phone.
Reboot into hboot.
Once it is unable to find the SD card (and therefore no PD98IMG.zip), you'll be able to choose recovery.
Put SD card back in phone.
Doesn't rom manager have an option to flash alternate recovery? (I dont use rom manager, Is there an amonRA recovery for inspire?) If so, try that.
Or put the recovery you wanna use on root of sd card, and use terminal emulator from market to flash/push a new recovery. (I forget the exact commands to use, but I know they can be found in OP of amonRAs recovery thread in the evo 4g subforum)
Hope ya get it.

Yes it will boot up.. It shows Superuser and rom manager.. I tried to use rom manager to get into recovery and the screen just fades to a black screen.. And sits there till i restart. I have S -off on the menu still.. I got into it by replacing the SD card with the Original one.
But now i'm trying to figure out if i need to re-root the phone or go back to stock and start over.. These phones are alot harder to mess with than the Iphone..
Took the SD card out went into hboot and selected recovery.. The screen just fades to black and sits there..
Thanks to everyone that Helped... I finally got it up and running with the new Rom.....
And thanks to legend221 His post in the Rom Info area Helped me get it installed right.
ok, the problem your having is the same exact one my friend is having... can you please link the post where you found the solution???

Have you re-downloaded the v9 kernel, there were issues with the earlier version (at least there was on this device).
You could try to download and re-flash whatever was the previous (old) kernel.

how am i going to get to recovery to flash it once again. Ivbe tried to hold the volume down button and hit power. But once im at the screen that says recovery and few other things. I can never move down or up or hit power so it can function. I have no control on that screen.

For getting to recovery try installing android sdk and using adb reboot recovery
From there you can put another rom in the sd card. Wipe all and install a new one, which includes a new kernel inside. (like all of them)
I was stuck at the bootloader after trying to install a corrupt radio. I could get into recovery but it only offered yes or no for the corrupt file.
I removed SD card and pulled battery and restarted, i was then was able to get into recovery and do a wipe and it then booted fine.

I tried following cyanogen wiki on an Inspire 4G. It didn't work and gave "Incorrect Model ID" error.
So I switched to use Hack-Ace tool. Everything worked as expected and I guess I was going good. When Hack-Ace completed, the phone went into an infinite look showing HTC logo then blind to a black screen with background light ON.
I could ADB and reboot in bootloader where I clashed the CM7 ROM. Every step went through fine and it restarted. Now all I get is nothing.
The device shows the HTC Logo on white screen after leaving a while and the vibrator is ON constantly. It doesn't help really but keeps doing that. It will only stop if I remove battery.
Plugging the device into USB doesn't detect on PC.
When tried charging, it shows the error messages and nothing happens, no buttons interact.
I guess I have a full brickd phone now

You font nerd recovery with that file. Just out it on the root if your sdcard. Meaning not in any folder and boot into bootloader...not recovery then it will recognize the file then just follow onscreen instructions

Dude download the PD98 file above it is the rooted updated gingerbread ROM. Place it in the root of your SD card (you will have to remove SD card and use adapter to move zip file to root of SD card if PC does not recognize phone with USB cable) and power phone off then power back up holding down power button and volume down button at same time. Phone should go to bootloader then it will recognize the PD98 zip file and ask if you want to istall. Volume up for yes and it will do its thing. No need to try to get into recover phone will do it itself with the PD98 zip file. Zip is (ATT ROM 2.47.502.7 w/Radio - 26.10.04.03_M)

You messed up your bootloader. That version you flashed is the froyo version. Your phone is now in a state where it will take forever to finish a task.
First use a card reader to put this PD98IMG on your SD card. Remove battery for a few seconds. Then hold volume down and press power. Do not let go of volume down until you see hboot screen. It will take a while. After that it will check for image. It will also take what seems like forever. When finally prompted select yes and then reboot when prompted to do so. And learn from this to never flash a froyo hboot again.

Warning you must be rooted bootloader S-off!
well this your own risk but theres no risk to take : ) just follow step..
I was on a state were my htc run super slow like every task feels like takes for ever, so i simply flashed a rooted PD98IMG.zip , u need to let the power bottom and volume down bottom hold till boot loader shows up make sure plug it up to a charger when bootloader shows up then but before u do that you need to put this on root of your sd card that mean put it exacly on the sd card not on any folder of sd card and make sure is called PD98IMG and it zip so when you download it rename it to PD98IMG here the file --- Download The Ace Not Froyo ---
In step:
Step 1: Download PD98IMG.zip
Step 2: Rename it to PD98IMG.zip
Step 3: make sure you have 2 or 4 gb sd card or up,
Step 4: Move it to the root of your sd card witch means put it on sd card but not in any folder [i recommend full formatting sd card]
Step 5: put it on you Android
Step 6: Hold down power bottom and volume bottom dont let it go till you see Bootloader
[TIP] When you see bootloader plug you phone up to a charger this may take 1 hour or 1 hour half or even more!
Step 7: when 1 hour or more pass and the bootloader ask you do you want to update [yes] or [No] choose yes by press the up volume bottom
Step 8: Leave you phone do the progress it may take few minute or 1 hour
Step 9: then bootloader will say complete then press power bottom
Step 10: [Let it boot up!]then your phone should boot up and sound doing the half of boot if it sound you did it you fixed it!
If you did all that rite you phone is back and up running and you must be rooted!
Enjoy! any question just Quote me!
