Weird video tearing/interference on keyboard. Only on black portion of screen while using keyboard and in black settings. In horizontal position its to the right of the character mark on the space bar, and the comma. Shows up as a razor thin white light beam. When rotated the tablet with camera at bottom its to the of the char on the spacebar. Its about one inch long. As if column on board has trouble refreshing there. It jump from bottom to top where auto suggest words are. Never through tge words just the black area.
Unrooted have no dock, tried both asus keyboard and android.
Firmware 8.2.3.13. I can live with it if its a firmware issue, else when the units become plentiful may rma it. Ill see if i have enough energy to do a video of it.
IT'S NOT THAT BIG OF A PROBLEM....
Anyone else?
Love my tablet.

Hello,
I hope I've placed this in the right place - if not, please feel free to let me know and I'll post it/move it elsewhere
I've recently upgraded my Nexus S to 2.3.4 (manually, not OTA), and I've noticed a slight problem with the screen. I have a friend who also updated their Nexus S manually to 2.3.4, and appear to be exhibiting the same problems. I wonder if anyone else can confirm if their Nexus S is doing the same thing.
On the device unlock screen, the right-hand edge of the right-hand buttons (3, 6, 8, DEL) is cut off (rather than having a border)
On the left-hand side of the screen (when held in portrait mode) has a slightly green tint to it (not seen in 2.3.3)
When held in landscape mode, the green tint appears on the bottom of the screen
The onscreen keyboard seems less precise - the wrong letters are sometimes typed (despite the fact I'm sure I pressed the right key!)
Just an update - I've spoken to a friend of mine who upgraded his (brand new) Nexus S to 2.3.4 OTA, and he is seeing the same problems that I described.
(He's recently moved from iPhone to Android, and thought the keyboard issue was him just not being used to the Android keyboard)
Have any other people experienced these problems with their Nexus S on 2.3.4?
No prob over here. Could you please post some pics/screenshots? Which nexus s model do u have?

Hi deeren,
I have the Nexus S GT-i9020 (bought and used in the UK, if that helps).
I'll take some pictures tonight (can't screenshot as not rooted, and at work so don't have camera!)
I've attached two images to this post:
lockscreen.jpg - this shows the buttons 'falling' off the edge of the screen
greenbar.jpg - difficult really to demonstrate this, but there is a slight green bar at the top of the picture (it's far more noticeable when looking at the screen in person)
I'm not sure if I can upload video - if I can, I'll try and take a video demonstrating the inaccuracy of the keyboard if that's any help.
Has anyone else come across any of the problems I've mentioned? I haven't had chance yet to re-image my phone and see if the issue re-occurs.
The PIN entry keypad is off-center on my device as well. However, I think it's just that particular screen.
I don't have any color anomalies though.
I didn't notice the keypad being off-centre in 2.3.3, but it may well have been. My main bugbear is the fact that the keyboard accuracy is definitely off in 2.3.4.

Im using 2.3.4 Nexus S I9023 (NOT rooted. all stock)
its not off centered on mine. i have a few questions for you:
1) are you using a third party lockscreen or something? could be that program?
2) are you using a 3rd party browser too?
i tested all my apps and screens and observed the homescreen, theyre all equally aligned. you may want to try to check stock calculator, stock calendar, etc and see if its off centered

Did you set your lockscreen to require a PIN. Because it definitely is off center, and it is a UI design bug on that particular screen. I really think anyone will see this. Nothing on my phone is off center except that one screen.
Menu > Settings > Location and security > Set up lockscreen > PIN
Enter a PIN and confirm it
Turn screen off
Turn screen on
Numbers on right side (3, 6, and 9) will extend all the way to edge of the screen. Numbers on left side (1, 4, and 7) will have border visible between button and edge of the screen.

Is anyone having display issues with the bottom 3 pixel rows?
It's not entirely annoying.
The whole display is shifted up 3 pixels. (not the physical display)
The 3 rows of pixels on the bottom stretch out the image.
You can see what I mean if you use the ChargerBar application.
By sending the bar to the bottom 1px in height, the bar is stretched out by 3px.
Then send the bar up to the top and it disappears.
You would have to increase the height of the bar by 3px.
I want to show a video. But I don't have a camera...
Here's a video of the issue.

I see it too... running cm7. Something needs to be done to the display, just change the number a little. If linuxbozo was here he could easily but i have no idea how sorry. Just try to ignore it, thats what i do. It is hardly noticible.
I see it on mine running emancipation....

Its normal, noticed it as well.
I think its two pixels, not 3
What's strange is that when I reboot the device it's normal, the way it should look on the bottom. Once I turn off the screen for the first time and then turn it back on, this issue happens, and it stays until the device is rebooted again.
Hi All
Ok, I've had my shiny new Transformer now for a few days and although I'm pretty familiar with Andriod as an OS, I'm still learning about it in relation to tablets.
Now, it might be my imagination and it's been doing it from new, but I've noticed something irritating (for me anyway!).
When I touch a 'screen' in order to swipe, two, very thin vertical lines appear either side of the screen. They remain there until the swipe is completed or I take my finger off the screen.
The lines represent the left and right edges of the screen space (so I don't think it's a screen fault) - so it looks like it's there by design. For me, it makes the whole fluid movement of the screen look ugly - is it me... or is this normal behaviour for the tablet?
Perhaps I should just get a blue wallpaper
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Steve

If you mean the thin blue frames around the "pages" of the launcher, then it's completely normal.

Thanks for the quick reply. As long as it's normal behaviour that's fine

If you mean you only get it on the launcher, it's a stock feature designed to show a divider between the pages.
If you don't like it, consider using a third party launcher from the PlayStore, such as Nova, Apex, Go Launcher HD, etc.
They are highly customisable, and let you change the colour of the outlines when swiping to another page.
If it's on the Home screen (the screen you end up on when booting the tablet), it's normal behavior for Nova Launcher, for example. Not all launchers do this, though, and if you're new to Android, I'd suggest looking around for some launchers and trying them out. (I am on Nova as well, as I like it best, especially with the faster-than-light options. ) FTL Launcher was great on my then-ICS SGS2, but was bugged to oblivion on JB. Shame, really, that one was fast.
EDIT: nevermind. Useless info to add, so useless edit. None performed. Walk on, people, nothing to see here.

If you don't like them try this. Go to the menu by tapping on the right top corner and then come to the homescreen by pressing the back button. You'll notice that they are gone. This is something temporary and you'll notice those lines may be after a reboot or something.
Blue Lines on Swipe
Thanks for all the advice and tips everyone. I'm going to try out some other launchers

I've noticed something strange. I suspect it is a software issue but I'd like to know if anyone else experiences it. When I make the s-pen approach the screen, the moment the tablet displays the gray "hovering" dot, it sometimes also makes a phantom tap.
Here is a video showing the problem: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21246716/2013-04-28 00.27.41.mp4
In the video I'm hovering the pen in the app "Papyrus" with the eraser selected. Notice that no phantom taps are occurring if I move the pen even closer. It's "Pen too far away to register" ---"phantom taps" ---"Normal hovering" ---"real tap"
I'm using Android Revolution HD 6.0 on a n8010, with no special kernel.
Anyone else? I thought the pen could only "tap" when something touched the tip.
EDITED: Added video and removed the erroneous conclusion that it was only GUI related.
After a bit more experimentation, I now see it is not gui specific. The touch is just so slight I couldn't see the resulting little lines. The strange behavior has the following characteristics:
It only happens in some areas, mostly I notice it in the corners.
It only happens when the tablet first detects the spen. When you move the pen even closer, no phantoms taps will register. This is what makes me think it is software related. I could be wrong.
Hi,
so the title just says all about it. When using two fingers (or more) to scroll and zoom around (for instance Google Maps), it is very jumpy. It seems to be completely random. There are days where it doesn't happen at all.
I have turned on this feature where it shows you the trace of your finger movement on the screen: Normally you could just draw two lines, each one with one finger. But when this issue occurs one of the lines just disappear or the both disappear and start from scratch. So it looks like the system thinks that I put both fingers up briefly and starts a new trace.
I hope you get what I'm trying to say, not a native english speaker
Ah, more info: The tablet is on stock rom. I use one of those microfibre textiles to clean the screen <- that maybe the problem?
Thanks for any tips!
Am I really the only one with that issue? Any ideas would be VERY welcome as this problem is really annoying!
