For some reason when I use Pandora with my bluetooth headset and turn the screen off the music starts to pause and freeze. I don't understand why because it works just fine with my HD2. I am running Bionix not sure if that has anything to do with it. It seems as though screen off makes the data less stable.
I've reflashed the rom. Tried EB. Changed kernels. Fixed permissions. Reinstalled Pandora. The music playback is always flakey through bluetooth is there some sort of issue with the bluetooth stack in the roms for our phone? If anyone has any information or how they got rid of this issue please let me know.
pandora problem
i am having a similar issue, except im not using Bluetooth and still experiencing major skipping while listening to pandora? does anyone know what could be causing this,my data speeds are great and im using evils rom which seems fairly stable.

Let me start off by saying this is more of a workaround than a fix. I have been hoping that the release of Donut may have fixed the A2DP skipping problem but until late I had rendered my Plantronics Voyager 855 useless for listening to music. I could not listen to anything with out i skipping so bad that it would have been better to turn off bluetooth and hold the phone to my head to listen to media. I have found a fix that may hopefully lead to someone figuring out what is actually wrong.
Step 1: turn off bluetooth and unpair your headset
Step 2: start a song on a media player
Step 3: go back turn bluetooth on and pair your headset
you may or may not have to unpair your headset sometimes it works if you just turn bluetooth off start a song and then go turn it back on again
Once it connects your media will start playing perfectly through the headset for as long as the media is playing. Unfortunately once you stop playing media for more than a few minutes and then try to start it again the skipping will also start again.
Have you also tried using a task manager to kill everything BEFORE you start the music player? That works 60% of the time for me.
Another solution that generally works the other 40% of the time is to go into your bluetooth settings, press and hold on your BT device, at menu pop-up, touch "Options" then just unlink the Media, and then re-link it.
Hope this saves you some time in the future!

its funny that unlinking media works for you because i tried that and it does nothing for me. The fastest way i can get it to work is turning bluetooth of and back on again.
I'm having the same problems with my JVC car stereo.. It skips pops etc.. with no way to fix.. i'll try this work around tomorrow but does anyone know what causes this?
I see one of you is running latest Cyanogenmod. I'm not sure what the issue is you are having with A2DP maybe your paired hardware? i typically have Pandora streaming to my car stereo in the background with Telenav running.
EDIT: I use Tunewiki instead of Music player if that makes a difference.
Well actually it does happen in CyanogenMod although its not a skipping issue... Its more of a faint popping issue that I get.
I dont hear it using the aux headphone jack on my htc adapter but i do when i switch over to bluetooth.
Right now i'm running Enomther's ASOP+ADP rom because CyanogenMod has been having freezing and rebooting issues (thanks to the switchrom script for letting me switch back and forth) and this is where i'm really getting a skipping and popping issue big time.
For both I use Tunewiki as well, for m4a's that i buy on iTunes or SHOUTcast radio (gotta love internet radio on the go...)
I thought it was because I was running Google Maps as well as tunewiki (I have a car GPS mount) but even just letting it run only Tunewiki it still has issues (although far worse at times running Google Maps)
I just can't seem to pinpoint the issue.. I could just use the aux headphone jack to my car stereo yes, but then since I have the charger connected I get the annoying ground loop noise which is far worse than the bluetooth popping and skipping issue...
EDIT: This is my Car Stereo: JVC KD-A805

Those workarounds don't work for me. It is good to know this issue is known though and is being reported by more than one.
My Tunewiki still skips either way.. even turing off most background apps do not help.. I was looking into editing the audiopara4.csv file possibly (someone apparently added a line for his BMW and it fixed his issue) but don't know where to start.

After intense observation, I realized I experience the skipping only after I place a call. The following two steps always work for me ( I prefer #2)
1. Turn of bluetooth and turn in it back on while the music is playing
2. In bluetooth settings unlink the phone and thats it; you might have to turn off bt and back on and it works until you use the bt for phone again
I also noticed that the skipping is not ROM specific with me; I tried it when my G1 was unrooted, thru XROM. I'm not sure what causes the skipping, I experience no skipping with my S9 (works flawlessly), however my Jabra BT3030 is what gives me all the grief (better headset IMHO)
Just found a really easy way to get a2dp to work perfectly. Once you have what ever you want playing just make a call to your voice mail, once the call gets transfered to your headset hang up and what ever you are playing will play perfect through the headset.
eclair rom.
bluetooth works perfectly on them.
Ive experienced skipping and stuttering when listening to audio over A2DP (Bluetooth) on both the original GB leak adn the official 2.3.3 update from LG & T-Mobile. The skipping and stuttering has improved on the newest update, but it def is still a major issue when doing ANYTHING besides listening to music. This occurs on ALL LG .3.3 based ROMS such as EB107, the Stock OTA, and WeaponG2x.
My hunch: It seems any type of IO access causes a skip, as anything strenuous like listing apps (settings), cruising around the launcher, opening closing apps, etc causes stuttering, sometimes to the point that its literally impossible to listen to. Its less "skippy" when the screen is on, phone left alone with the music player open. It skips\stutters more if the music player is in the background.
Anyone else expericne this? Please try this on multiple sources (Pandora, music, AudioGalaxy, Youtube) before stating it works or doesn't, as Ive found certain types of playback (such as Youtube) are more likely to exhibit the issue.
Ive tried to diagnose this & have had very little luck. At the moment, I cant listen to music and do ANYTHING else on my phone w/o it skipping and stuttering, which shouldn't be the case for a dual-core android.
Anyone have anything to add? Possible solutions? Fixes?
Thanks!
Same issues here. I've learned to just not use the phone at all while listening.
Also using the camera while using Stereo BT shuts it off completely.
I've had issues with it on the MLB At-Bat app, and that's even when I'm not touching the phone at all...
Since the update, my Inspire locks up upon first use after connecting to my car. Reboots, then its ok. Anyone else experience anything like this and have any tips to correct it?
stupid thanks button.....
i havent had any problems with 2.3 and bluetooth. mine doesnt lock up when it connects to my car
Same
I have to force stop the Music app (poweramp). tried factory reset but no real difference. Also on the sony mex bt3800 I have, it will display icons for streaming and calls, well sometimes (of course) only one of those will turn on. Re-paired still doing it. grrrr.

I have the Mex-bt2800. You can turn the music streaming on by pressing the pause/play button when it's it bluetooth audio mode.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using the power of the dark side
Yeah, you'd like to think so, hit the arrow for play on poweramp right?
Well not quite as, if you start the car first then switch bluetooth on (you know powersaving) the message will display that the headset connected message then on the stereo , mostly, only the icon for media streaming will appear and the only reliable way to have both streaming and calls is to switch off bluetooth on the car stereo then switching it on again.
Froyo connected all time without issue and so did the 3GS i had previously.
The poweramp issue came about if you already had music playing through the internal speaker, started bluetooth, (you get the streaming media Icon on stereo) , then there would be no sound and poweramp would act if it had paused but no other button would work until it had been force stop. have only found time for a liittle bit of testing so can't tell much more about symptoms.
any other suggestions welcome

Still stock. Might root and see if those other roms make a difference. Saw comment on ace root kit thread about something new coming out on that so may put up it until what ever it is announced. Be nice to get rid of the att bloat too.
Hi all,
I am having an issue with my Skyrocket streaming bluetooth to my toyota prius and am wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar (I have been searching the forums with no success).
When I was on Gingerbread, the bluetooth audio streaming to my Toyota Prius was working fine. I recently upgraded to the leaked ICS builds and for the first week it seemed to be ok but I am now experiencing (for lack of a better way to describe it) intermitent bluetooth audio. About 90% of the time when I play music in my car it sounds like there are long pauses/drop outs (If I continually do pause/play it sometimes works). The really strange thing is that it initially worked fine and even now if I try my motorola headset it works perfectly. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there are any suggestions on how to fix it? I have tried multiple versions of the ICS ROMS and the issue seems to be persistant across all of them.
Skyrocket currently running the NexusMod rom (having tried many more) and have tried to clear the cache (both of them), fix the permissions, and superwipe/reinstall the various roms.
Thanks,
Dave
Hey guys i am new here. I have been searching awhile for the issue with Bluetooth audio streaming on these devices. I have a jvc Bluetooth head unit in my car. The biggest issue i have is that the tablet will freeze while streaming audio to it after about 10 minuets typically or when it goes to sleep on the screen .
I have tried everything including back to stock and new copies of the latest CM 7.2 but it persists in doing this. Is their any fix for this issue . its so annoying .
Anywon ?

If I recall correctly you can change the Display to stay on up to 30 mins on CM 7.x and also if you keep it connected with a charger that you can set the display to stay on while charging also. It has been awhile since I have been on Gingerbread, but those settings should be in there. What app are you using to play the music with? I tried streaming Pandora once on a 2.3 ROM and it seemed to have issues with it because of HW accelerators not being supported.

For this I am using music folder player. I have also seen it happen with video softwares also . Basically the tablet will go unresponsive and crash the apps . if i break the connection sometimes it tries to come back . most times i have to shut it down by the button then come back up .
Well it sounds like it is a wired issue. Hard to point out what actually is causing it since it plays normal until the tablet times out itself. Have you tried other ROMs?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda app-developers app
Well i dont think i have yet. But it does it aat random sometimes too. like if i go to change a song. .or if i touch the tablet sometimes it behaves like it crashes.

It might just be the lack of HW accelerators that 2.3 doesn't have. Well it does have a form of them, but a hacked version to allow somethings to work, but not everything. Can you boot ICS or Jellybean on your tablet? Chances are that might work out even better for you or the other alternative is to downgrade to froyo based ROMs that have those HW.
