I'm trying to find a widget I had awhile back, it monitored battery temp, cpu frequency, ram, and a few other things.. it was a free app. I know there are paid apps that show this but I don't want to spend money on a status widget. Thanks!
Elixir will do all of that.

Elixir was the closest to what I wanted, but the battery drain was worse than b4.. I found what I was looking for, it's called Perfect System Monitor. Has the data I want with about 1/2 the battery drain of Elixir.. TY for your input guys
So I just signed up here after getting a G2X. I have been into Android for about a year. I started out with the Cliq XT which I actually loved, then got the Defy which I hate to see go, and now am on the G2X [the first superphone to really impress me since it can actually do something my Defy couldn't]
I am very happy with my G2X. I don't get the fuss over screen bleeding as phone displays have come such a long way from my first cell phone, the Panasonic GD55. I also have not had ONE reboot. My battery life is between 4 to 6 hours and I'm pretty much browsing the web ALL day.
but lately, I've wondered, am I wrong? dumb? blind?
I only use three home screens. The main one has just 4 small icons: camera, messaging, browser, and navigation. Then to the right home screen just the weather widget, and to the left screen, the android power bar widget. and after that, nothing else, nothing.
Is there something I'm missing? or am I right in not loading up the screens and just hitting the menus if I need something? I realize, for example, the google search widget would work for me, but I don't see the point of having it on the screen when I can just press browser and it opens to a blank google window I don't facebook much, but I can just open the app drawer, click the facebook button, and it's all right there.
So am I just crazy? or is my approach more common and popular than I think?
On another note, I'm missing some things from my defy. I was able to install the connected music player apk to use instead of the horrible stock one, but I'm missing my airplane mode button and timer built into my clock/alarm app.
but still...I feel weird..they added homescreens to make it 7..so people obviously love them and need them..and yet if I really wanted to I could put EVERYTHING I use on one.
Its your phone best used how you see fit. I have on extra page filled with a few apps I use since I've gotten into rooting my phone and playing around with things the devs help and teach me on. But I do the same I go to the app menu if I wanna use something too.

You're not an idiot lol I myself have a pretty much bare set up haven't really customized anything due to the fact that I've been bouncing from rom to rom. Plus the wonderful thing about android is that you can pretty much do what you please. If you're only using 3 pages I'd suggest you use Launcherpro or ADW (or whichever launcher you prefer) and have only 3 pages up so you're not left with all these blank pages. I used to just use 1 page back on my MT4g Bottom line is you're not an idiot
I know exactly what you are saying. I've got launcher pro and have the dock all customized with 15 icons in 3 docks. Some camera apps and different markets and the usual messaging and stuff.
Now I'm like...why do I need anything in my home screens? I've got my vacation days left widget on the home screen and the launcher pro contacts widget on another. That's it.
But then I downloaded three icon packs and see myself customizing the screens more. There sure are a lot of cool choices. If I do that the dock choices become redundant.
I just don't use most of the apps in the drawer enough to put them on a home screen. Only a select few.
Having a blast playing around though.
Instead of having all my apps on one page, I'm thinking of giving the pages themes, like games, tools, camera, messaging etc.
I also like to keep one home screen blank so the wallpaper, living or not, is highlighted.
i also have 3 screens
I also have just 3 screens.
I use LauncherPro + QuickDesk + SwipePad
Screen #1 just has 9 icons for each of my fave Google apps: Browser, Calendar, Market, Latitude, Maps, Navigation, Talk, Voice and YouTube.
Screen #2 has minimum of 2 icons: Shortcut > Direct Message > My Wife
The second icon is either my ToDoList for the day or a ShoppingList.
I use ColorNote.
Screen #3 is for my widgets.
Battery Monitor Widget, Catch Notes Widget, Pure Calendar Widget.
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
I really love the scrolling dockbar in LauncherPro. I use just two dockbars for a combined quick access to a possible 10 apps + 10 gestures.
I also use SwipePad for quick access to 12 more apps, and also QuickDesk for additional quick access to s'more apps & shortcuts
Using the Hidden Apps feature of LauncherPro, I hide most of my apps in the app drawer.
I access everything else from the capacitive touch Search button.
I run simple as well. However adw ex utilizes both cores for instant function.
Buy adw ex. Open settings/Profiles and select FAST SETTING.
it will be like nothing you've had before.
I call it Instant.
I don't even use any animations at this point.
Its more impressive not to even need any then to watch one.
It will impress you.

here is the latest 360launcher and sslauncher apps. 360launcher is modded in english (not by me) and it has to be the fastest launcher (most beautifull too) i have ever used. It allows folders even inside app drawer, automatically puts your media in tabs inside app drawer etc. It haz a memory optimizer that really works and an auto power manager with 2 profiles (more options available if you upgrade the power saver for free from within the app). Overall it is bugless other than that the built in weather widget (which is really nice) recognises only chinese cities. sslauncher on the other hand makes your phone look like a magazine cover which is really cool. it has many pages on the main screen with the main page (or more if user specifies) being like a cover with highly customisable styles and the rest being pages with apps contacts(no screenshot for obvious reasons) internet favourites and so on. Both apps are free and some screenshots included. Enjoy.
edit:first 4 pics are launcher360. Rest are sslauncher some greek on it but i forgot o change language
edit2: launcher 360 includes a themechooser app with 30ish themes to download plus an unlocker app with really cool unlock styles (got to see tetris unlock screen)
The ssLauncher is very nice I tested it out for a day or so and its great, very promising but its still in beta

yeah but no issues (at least that i found of) and it does make the phone look pretty different than anything else. Only thing i havent figured is how to make the time appear as a text in the cover pages (like date does), although i havent looked for it much.

You cannot do that. I use the Fuzzy Clock Widget for that, however.
I have 360 Launcher, its really very good and enjoyable.
I use HTC Sense theme
Hi Guys
I'm after a battery widget that is just a battery widget. I don't want one that reports back what my battery usage was all night just a widget to sit on home screen I can click that gives me information of the current battery status such as percentage left and battery temp.
I used to have a HTC one on stock sense 3.0 but since I've upgraded to ICS using ARHD i can't get the widget anymore. I got the old widget from htc sense app but I don't have this anymore.
I use this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/...o#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDUwMSwiY2NjNzEuYm13LnBybyJd it sounds like it will do what you want. The link is for the paid version, but you can also download a free version.
BMW & current widget are the more popular 1s...
Do the above all sit in the background though and use up my resources. I'm after a good reporting tools really rather than a 24 hour battery reporting tool.
I'll give the suggested a go though and see how it goes
Here's one that does nothing but report battery percentage and can be set to read temperature. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...UwMSwibmV0Lm1haWNhcy5hbmRyb2lkLmJhdHRlcnlzIl0. It uses little if any resources. I keep it on my main home screen just for reference.

Thats exactly what I'm after!! thanks Stev32k!!
shame its not the fancy HTC one but maybe they'll release it again on the new htc sense app.
I use current widget...not sure if it is what you are looking for, but I find it very useful to monitor battery draining applications.
System info widget is good. Shows batt, temp, phone storage, SD storage and ram. I think its 99cents

Hello Guys! Since your talking about battery widget i have a question: after the ICS update on my sensation the stock battery indicator turns to orange color below 20% ( before it was 25%) but i cant find any battery app that show the same animation, all of them turn to orange below 25%! any seggestions??
Ive been using an older version of weatherbug elite for a long time and now that ive switched to lg v20 it doesnt quite work as well as on older versions of android. It seems the widget doesnt refresh like its supposed to leaving a blank widget untill i open the app, then the widget refreshes and displays.
So ive tried the included weather, ive tried several from play store and NOT ONE does it all inside the actual app like old weatherbug elite, even the newer weatherbug app kicks over to web for simple extended forecast, and i cant seem to find anything in it that shows wind forecast.
They all seem to show a little info and then push you to web browser for more details or extended forecast. I can create a bookmark for weather.com if thats what i wanted, but its not.
I work outside daily during winter and spend days on the water frequently in the warmer months so extended weather is very important to me, and old weatherbug elite has been a great app for a long time but i guess its time to move on since its not working right.
Basically im looking for a weather app that actually is an app, not a front for a website weather details. Something that shows pressure, wind and all that crap within the actual app so i dont have to dig thru multiple web pages
The Google app had a beautiful interface with everything you need, without taking you to the browser.
BTW you can check out weather timeline.
