What Baseband version are you running?
Menu -> Settings -> About phone
I received the same message a few minutes ago.
Firmware Version : 2.2
Baseband version: 1897UCJI6
Cognition 2.2Beta6
It's there but mine stopped half way through the update. Will have to wait until tomorrow to try again, unless someone knows where the update is downloaded to.
Maybe you can do the update via Kies software instead of waiting 24 hours?
I got the text too, I'm running cognition 2.3b3

is this update going to be stock 2.2?
I haven't had this yet, I'm on cog, this is interesting though, has our Unicorn arrived?

what would be the most ideal FW?
I've gotten the same text twice now...
Running I1897UCJI6
Froyo 2.2
But when trying to do manual update it wouldn't let me...didn't say there was or wasn't an update. Might try mini kies later tonight.
Got the text again and im running jh7 2.1

if you just set your phone's time 24 hours ahead, you don't have to wait for 24 hours to recheck for any updates.
DON'T SEARCH FOR UPDATES WITH A ROOTED PHONE ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE RUNNING 2.2!!!
Large men in black vans will come take you away.

Haha, I highly doubt that it matters to be quite honest.
Searching is one thing, installing would most definitely brick the phone.
I received too! Cog 2.3b3 ATT Puerto Rico

no confirmation yet? what the **** AT&t!? I feel like if this were froyo the forums would be a bit more lit up
Edit
Nevermind...I had my phone replaced a few days ago. I guess I never updated to JH7...

is anyone still experiencing this sms failed sending crap after flashing or updating to KD1? I thought KD1 was supposed to fix this issue. Happens to me at least a few times a day. Very annoying!!
It happened to me only one time right after I flashed kd1 but hasn't done it since.

kc1 was horrible with that failure text
kd1 is suppose to fix it however:
SOMETIMES when i go into handcent not the quick reply and i just exit handcent before the message sends all the way through it will fail, but that is only once in a great while usually i can just leave handcent and it will go through
Simple Mobile
I just wanted to let u guys know that when i had T-mobile i was expiriencing this but i switched my service to Simple Mobile which is cheaper at $60.00 a month for unlimited everything. Simple Mobile has a contract with T-mobile to use their towers so i don't understand why it stopped when i switched? Best part is the service is identical to T-mobile cause the towers are T-Mobiles but the price is like $20 a month cheaper!!
oh wow, i thought i was the only one with this problem. it was happening to me several times a day every day. i'm on my third galaxys4g (one was replaced, the other was stolen, this is my third) and it seems to be better, but it sucks that the hardware replacement is the only thing that has seemed to work on it so far.
yeah, this was discussed over in the vibrant section to some extent. basically what came out of it was that you need to remove all special characters from your phone numbers.
for example: (555) 555-5555 will give you the "error in server response"
however: 5555555555 will not give you the "error in server response"

Actually my friend's phone is doing the same thing. Message failed after multiple attempts or something like that. Are you running a ROM or is the phone stock?
are you sending the text in e164 format +1xxxxxxxxxx
Depending on what part of the US I'm in it's hit or miss, but when only using 10digits it's always worked.

Sorry if this has been addressed already, but was wondering if anyone else us having a lot of failed SMS messages since upgrading?
Running totally stock. Seems pretty consistent lately. one large message in particular kept saying failure to send... Although the recipient said he got several copies from me... It never shows as actually having completed.

Were they long texts? When using the KJ6 modem I've found (And heard of) many people complaining longer texts and picture messages would not send. Try using another modem like KI3 and see if its fixed.

I'm currently having the same issue since I upgraded to the official os. I thought maybe I did something wrong by flashing Dr honks kj1 kernel over this ROM. I even called t-mobile and the rep I spoke with was pretty condescending, but I was at work at the time and didn't wanna get irate before a meeting. If there's more people with this issue, hopefully they'll call so it can be addressed.

Try flashing another modem like my post above ;P
all kj6 and 2.3.6 roms have this problem if its even a problem that is.There is max of 160 or 180 chars you can send. When the numbers start to pop up like 5/1 while typing a long text it will almost always fail. If your typing up a long essay to your friend send it through email other wise sms is for only short messages. sms(short message server). I believe its the Tmobile network that limits this per message and theres ane asy work around of either flashing a different modem or typing short messages below 6 lines.
160 for SMS, and some cdma networks can not send / receive anything over that. You can split some messages in some SMS programs like gosms.
Switching to the ki3 moden has stopped my can't send message, however the other person still received the message even though it said the message failed to send.

I've never had this as an issue until just recentlyand it's not isolated to more than 160, even 2liners fail. CDMA limits your message to 160 chars but GSM network have never to my knowledge set a char cap on sms unless if its been recent.

Thanks for the responses. Glad i'm not the only one. It seems to happen regardless of text length, and had definitely only started since upgrading.
In regard to flashing a different modem, will that have a detrimental effect on wifi?

No, the files that improved the wifi are in the system folder, I separated them and posted a thread in the dev section on how to use those files on any room... Yes you can now have improved wifi on any GB ROM the modem.bin file, from what I've seen only delegates mobile radio

I've had a problem with my skyrocket for quite some time now. No matter which radio, ROM, or kernel I use the data will be hit and miss and so won't phone calls and messaging. I've already had one skyrocket replaced because of this issue and even got a replacement SIM card to no avail. I get full bars of H+ service. I've tried adding different APNs as well. The AT&T store is obviously stumped (they are basically worthless) and phone support is no better. I was wondering if anyone knew of this problem and what caused it or a way to fix it.

I will take it to them and try to get a replacement or a different phone. I got my first one within the 30 day return period but I have had my current phone for about two months. I also forgot to mention that if I throw it against the wall or smack it against my hand, the message will usually go through. Now, I don't usually go throwing my electronics around haha. I only did this after it started happening and that always seemed to make it work.
