I have a US wifi xoom rooted with HC3.1, and I also have an HTC hd2 running android. My question is when i dock my zoom and want to watch movies or play music through my TV or stereo is there an app I can install that will allow me to control playback through my hd2? Fuse it would be nice to not have to get up to control everything. Anyone heard of an app like this or know of one being developed?

If such an app already exists, I would appreciate the help tracking it down, but does anyone know if there is a way to use the EVO as a DLNA reciever?
I have a xoom, and it would be kind of cool if i could 'beam' media from it to my EVO connected to my TV. Also, it would make my EVO useful after i upgrade and get a new phone down the line. Maybe it is more complicated than something an app can provide?
Anyway, if anyone knows of a way i could accomplish such a feat, you would become my new hero! <3 !!!!!1!!!1!!!!
Sounds like you'd need an infrared transmitter /receiver...

The best thing I have found is vlc stream and convert but it requires a PC running vlc and it works with hdmiwin. I've been waiting for something that works with ps3 media server, but haven't found anything...

i could be wrong here, but i think it's a hardware thing.
There are apps to do this on the market place. But the only thing I don't like is that they don't transcode.

android to android
I know there are plenty of dlna apps I can use with my computer/Xbox 360 etc, but are there any that function between two android devices?
I've been using this app and have run into a problem. There is no audio and I get. Little error message at the top saying this video is not optimized for mobile. However when I try to play an HD stream it works fine. Can anyone else duplicate this problem? TVnow lite is free in the market and I was using the Simpson's as an example. HD streams work great but regular ones have no sound. Does anyone know of a possible solution to this
Edit: I'm having the same issue with playon now. All video no audio. The volume is Turned aall the way up. Any ideas?

there should already be a app on there for media streaming... to stream movies /pics/music go into your gallery and click media servers and your pc should come up if you have it set to media share
I did something similar using wifi tether mode on my inspire.
I started wifi tether then connected my laptop to it. after chainging my computers media servers settings, ( I use windows media player and a free software called vuze) I was able to acess any music, video, or picture that was on my laptop from my inspire using HTC app Connect media. It mite allso help, I was on a RcMix Kingdom rom. on my inspire.
It dint work perfectally, but it worked after some tweaking.
I woudnt kno iff it would work for "pushing" media.

Allso worked on Coredroid. just had to go to HTC music player, go to your music list and scroll over to connected media and hit "cancel" when no wifi error pops up. it should still find urr media server.

I use iMediaShare from the market. It works great. I can stream to my pc or my blu-ray player. I'm running Ninja. Cm7 based Roms don't have a dnla app installed by default.

I use TwonkyServer (no longer free, but the older free versions are still out on the web) to stream to my xbox 360. I've never tried my pc, but I'm sure it should work. Twonky shares video, music, and pictures.

easyer way using Sense
Ok. I found am easyer way using Sence. I created an open Adhoc network on my laptop then modded my phone to see and connect to adhoc networks. For some reason it doesn't see them automatically. Set up yrr computer with media servers turned on and u should have access. It works great even as a remote for windows media player!
I allso did some WiFi bridging mods on my laptop for faster adhoc but PM me for that info iff u need help

Hi, I'm using Galaxy R with CM10
I have this Sony Bravia Internet TV.
Some of you guys must be familiar with Windows 7 & 8's 'Play to' functionality.
U can right click on any media and select play to-> Bravia(Both connected to same wifi)
This feature is also there in S3's stock music and video players.
So I can hit play to from my PC or an S3 and it directly starts playing on my TV.
I need this feature on My SGR running CM10.
The SGS3 ported music player doesn't work on CM10
So I'm basically looking for an S3 music player port for CM10 or any 3rd party player that can give me this functionality!

This should be what you need.. Able to stream to many TVs
From my CM10 powered galaxy R
I already have iMediaShare but it wasn't good enough.
It just shows the media library on tv and I still have to browse through it and play using the tv remote.
PlayTo universal:

This app is somewhat better. Needs no tv remote interaction for playing/pausing. I'll keep digging for a more intuitive app though.
Thx a lot

Really?? That's strange coz I never needed the TV remote to seek play or pause videos... Anyways it always better to find new and better apps
From my CM10 powered galaxy R
That's really nice man.
I've heard iMediaShare is supposed to do that but it doesn't work so good for me.
Maybe it's something to do with the TV.
I flashed ICS again to see if I could find something and AllShare does this job really well!!

The only app I can find is the Flixster app that display and supposedly play all my UltraViolet movies. But for some reason or another it will not stream to my HTC Sensation phone. Is there another app out there that I can try to stream these movies? Also why doesn't UltraViolet make an app?

Is your phone rooted or did you flash a custom rom? The FAQ for Flixster said that they can't support streaming to modified Android phones because of "security issues". Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.
If you installed the app, rooted and then unrooted than you would have to uninstall the app and then reinstall it that worked for me
