[Q] Deleting Flash Files from SC Card - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi
I have just flashed clockwork recovery, the cyanogen mod and the radio.zip and the new theme for my backflip MB300. I was wondering if I can now delete the zip files off the SD Card? I have very little space left. I have saved a backup along the way.
I don't want to delete if its going to cause problems.
Thanks

Also an australia phone with optus service. Should that matter when flashing my gApps? if so can someone recommend the correct download?
cheers

[Q] Noob question about roms

I have been using Skyraider roms for a while now and love them, but since i have been doing the updates I have run out of room on my SD card. Can someone please tell me the files that can be deleted off of the card. I always do a backup when installing a rom, can i delete it ? if so what is the file name? please help.... oh yeah it on a droid incredible
I would simply copy everything you need to an external SD card or computer and do a full wipe/factory reset before installing the latest rom. This should clear everything unnecessary and most likely speed up your phone
You could try my app and see if you can get some more space.

Backups will be in the clockworkmod folder on your SD card and they do take up quite a bit of space.

[Q] Best way to start from "scratch" before flashing a new rom?

I'm on an OG Droid and am currently using CM7 RC4. I'm very happy with this rom, but I have been having issue after issue, no matter what rom I'm using.
I'd like to start fresh, clear my SD card, clear all app data, etc. and then reinstall my apps manually. I'm hoping that this will remove the possibility of something being corrupted or lingering on the card and affecting the current rom. So, I'm looking for suggestions on the best way to do this.
Also, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if they have been stable running GB on a Droid with CM7? I'm running LauncherPro, Lookout, Tasker and AlarmDroid, and they all seem to be fighting for memory and not able to work properly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
So far, I have:
Made Titanium backups
Made rom backups
Made a copy of my SD card
Erased SD card using the option under Settings...Storage
Copied the CM rom back to the SD card
Copied the clockworkmod directory back to the SD card
Also, I have a bunch of apps installed, and don't want them all reinstalled after I flash. Do I need to manually uninstall all of the apps I don't want upon boot, or is there an easier way to keep them from syncing?
I'm getting ready to flash the rom. I know I need to wipe data and wipe cache. What else?

[Q] Help coming from Windows Mobile to android

So i am very new to android, i did however figure out how to get root and get clockwork and flashed a custom rom. I have two questions. 1. I am currently running honeysense rom and see there is a 7.3 update, how do i go about installing the update? will doing the update erase all my apps i downloaded? If so i did back them up using titanium back up.... do i have to do wipe data, cache and all that in clockwork before installing the update?
2. If i want to do a completely new rom what are the steps to doing this as i have all this stuff on my sd card will post a pic of it curious as to what can all be deleted to free up space when starting fresh...
3. Last question sorry, i made a back up of "stock" rom before flashing the honeysense, and i named it "stock" where is that located??
ok so i thought i only had two questions changed to 4.
4. what is pd98img file the third to last one on the pic i uploaded, can it be deleted?
1. Check what Android version they both are if what you have now and the update are the same Android version (2.3.4 for example) then you should be able to just wipe the Dalvic cache when flashing from ROM manager. This will keep all of your apps and settings and flash the ROM. However it's VERY IMPORTANT to make a backup before trying this because certain settings may cause problems and you may need to restore your old version and do a clean install.
2. If you want to try a different ROM you should always wipe all data and caches before doing it, this can be done via ClockWorkMod or Rom Manager. But after that it's just the same as flashing the ones you have already.
3. I'm not really sure but I'm sure someone knows or you can find it via search.
4. PD98IMG is used when rooting to flash the downgraded rom automatically, it's safe to delete, and if you ever need it again it's easy to find.

I'm not sure what version it is, its on the download link for the rom's link I have a issue where my phone shuts off and gets stuck on the screen after the splash screen and stays there happens every two days or so and this update is suppose to fix it here is the link doesn't really say anything bout what version android it is
never mind i cant post links yet, but in honeysense forum section on here just uploaded a 7.3 suppose to fix my issue i dont think its a change in android version just a fix. If that is the case do i do apply update from sd or apply zip from sd?
2. If i do a full whipe doesn't that erase everything?? including my back ups of the roms i have backed up? never mind on that one found my answer, doesn't touch the sd card right?
Thank you for the quick response.
You can just apply the update from SD, you can even do it with ROM manager and it's a little more straight forward. I'd just take a swing at it and hope it works, if not you always have backups you can restore.
And no, all of your backups should be on your SD card, you dont need to wipe the SD card when flashing a new rom.

ok its 312 mb so im assuming do a full wipe and reflash correct? if this is case can i copy the clockwork mod file that contains my back ups to my computer and also titaniumbackup file to my cpu do a install the rom on my phone then do a format of my sd card? and have it be blank then copy and paste clockwork mod and titaniumbackup back to my sd card and be good to go?
I am sorry for being such a noob to android lol
a full wipe does not mean wipe the SD card. you can leave that untouched
I think you misunderstood me, you DONT need to wipe your sd card, wiping data/cache wont touch your sd card, and flashing wont do anything to it either, you should be able to leave all of those files on it.
i got what your saying i just wanted to start fresh i guess you could say...with a fresh sd card and this newer build i just downloaded the file and its 312 mb so i figured i would just start back from scratch, and wondering if i can do a full wipe on the phone put the rom on my sd card flash it, i have a back up of the older version in case something goes wrong on my sd card can i take the backups copy them to my computer along with the files in titanium, after the format is done with the sd card copy and paste them back on the sd card and restore titanium files and if need be restore the previous version of the rom? so then i have all most of my free space back on the sd again. Will this all work this way?
Ok, i get what youre saying now. Yeah, there's no reason that won't work. I transfered everything from my SD to my computer and then back to another SD because i got a 32GB one. You shouldn't have any problem with that.
ok thank you very much for helping me understand this a little bit more appreciate it a lot

[Q] How to check what phone is backed up on from cwm?

I use the tmo sgs2 and i have experience flashing roms. i know how to backup, flash and restore roms. its not rocket science. today i flashed the ics beta for my dad on his sprint epic 4g(sgs1). his sd card only had like 100mb free so i used my 32gb sd card with more than 15gb free so that i could download the zips needed and backup his current rom. i flashed his ics beta flawlessly without any problems at all. i backed up his og rom and everything was dandy. the problem started when i got home and decided to transfer his rom backup to my laptop's hard drive so that i wouldnt have that 1gig+ filling my sd card. when i mounted my phone storage and went into my cwm folder and into backups however i dont see any folders with today's date on it. so im not sure if its a backup from my sgs2 or my dads sgs.
My question is... is there a way that i can go into the file and maybe see which device the folder is from? like if theres a sgs2 specific SOMETHING that'll help me identify which one is which?
i tried being thorough so you guys know exactly what happened so you can help me with this.
thanks in advance
Can't you just go by the file date on the contents in the backup folders?

that was actually what i did originally to see which one it was. i also went into the folder info and none of them had today's date.
is there any possibility that it'll be on the phone's internal storage?
anyone?

[Q] Restore Rom from Recovered SD Card

I recently flashed to a new a rom. In doing so I ruined my Battle.net Authenticator.
I don't know what I was thinking...
I backed up some pictures and junk from my SD card before formatting and installing the new ROM.
Is there any possible way I can get the restore code from the Authenticator if I run a file recovery program on the SD card?
Or Even just restore the old ROM back?
I did try searching first >.<
