Call recorder app - Thunderbolt General

Hey i had das bamf and I liked the call recorder app and then i changed Roms any ideas in how I can just get the call recorder app without the Rom.. the ones in the market that i tried are weak sauce
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App

I switched roms as well and couldn't get the right call recorder either. Even backing it up it won't restore. I believe you have to have dasbamf kernels for support. I am back to dasbamf 1.6.3 remix and am loving it with call recorder support.

You have to have a kernel with the drivers compiled in. Only way to get it on each Rom is to request support from dev of the Rom u want to use. Or compile yourself. I've been trying to figure that part out for the gb leak. Good luck
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk

Didn't know it was a kernel thing.. I have the minimal kernel installed and it works
Edit: nevermind my bad I am mistaken
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk

I pulled the apk from the bamf remix rom and installed it on my phone. it can see all of the old recordings but i'm not sure if it can record yet, haven't made a call yet. I'll let you know if i get it working.

I just made some calls and after i hung up from the first call it said that callrecorder was granted superuser permissions, but nothing was recorded and it doesn't even give the toast notification anymore

Lol,buy it. I did.

I'd like to have a list of roms with this kernel. Anything working yet for a GB rom? I see Th3ory had it incorporated, but then removed it because it was force closing on boot.
Can anyone using the call recorder successfully please post your setup?

I just installed Th3oryofginger 1.7, and the included app works and records both sides very clearly. So far it has worked for all incoming calls, but for some reason it does not record some outgoing calls...haven't figured out why yet.

I would like to see the devs bake this into all the kernels. I miss it and I am running ginger remix--thought it would be there but its not. Maybe in a future update!!

This has been asked in many threads and not been answered. I liked it on BAMF 1.6.3 and really miss it on BAMF Remix 2.0-6. I have tried it on the stock kernel and on Dreamkernel. No luck so far.

[Q] Gingerbread 2.3 ROM's Question

Can anyone running one of the Gingerbread ROM's tell me if it has the HAC (Hearing Aid Compatibile) option, it's in "Settings" under "Call" in the stock ROM. According to HTC support it has been fixed in 2.3 (Doesn't work in 2.2) and I would like to use it with my hearing aids if in fact it does work.

Hmm... Im running 2.3.2 and I don't see it. If someone can point me to where it is (if it's even there), Id be happy to test it for ya.
I am running Inspired Saga v1.1 with Gingerbread, and there is no such setting under "Settings -> Call."
Thanks fellows, the tech support at HTC told me it would be in the upcoming Gingerbread update for the Inspire and I was just wondering if it was already in some of the ones we have now. Evidently not Thaks for looking.
capman231
One thing to check would be if HAC is enabled in build.prop, I bet it is not on these ROMs.
Sent from my A500 using XDA Premium App
In the Build.Prop It is "htc.audio.hac.enable=1". My guess is 1= on, but that is just a guess. The HAC works great on incoming calls but the caller can't hear me at all

That is what I thought. I know the 2.3 ROMs have the option but I seem to remember it set to zero. I would check it but I am on the new Froyo update.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App
I think that the Inspire is the only HTC phone that has HAC but I haven't been able to prove it. HTC support says that the problem is in the ROM and has been fixed in the upcoming gingerbread update. I asked the tech if the software on the phone was actually developed for the Inspire and he said he couldn't answer that, but he did say that the upcoming update was developed from the ground up for this phone. I think a lot of the problems that people are complaining about is due to HTC piecing together a ROM from their other phones. The Inspire has a different radio and a different audio chip than any of the other phones and most of the complaints I have heard can be traced back to either the radio or the audio.
I just checked mine and its set to 0
htc.audio.hac.enable=0
Im on Inspired Saga v1.1
Which phone and what ROM?
I wonder if you change it to 1 and reboot if it shows up under call settings.
If not, then change it before installing the ROM and see what happens.

I just edited it and changed it to 1. Rebooting and will post back with results.
If it shows up in "Properties" under "Call" can you turn it on and call someone. If it's not working, they won't be able to hear you but they will be loud in your ear.

Yes "Settings". Wonder why it didn't show up. It's in the stock ROM, and in the Ingersol 2.4 that I am running. Is your ROM based on the inspire ROM?

Its a gingerbread ROM ported from the desire S so it might not work.
The inspired saga ROM may have a better chance as it has inspire sources baked in.

Skype Video Chat Working HTC EVO

This is a working skype video chat for the HTC EVO 4G
I installed this on five different Evo's and can confirm this app works! It might not work on 2.2 roms, but I've tried it on 4 different 2.3.3 roms (Fresh, Kingdom, Synergy, Philly Finest) give it a shot and don't forget to hit thanks if I've helped you!
If for some some reason you get phrasing error try downloading from a different browser, or try downloading from a computer and not your mobile device, but it should install without problems. If you have skype installed already please uninstall first!
There's two options for getting this app download here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7UA987T6

They have released an offical version in the in the android market, its version number is 2.1.0.46, I will keep the original link up for those who want it.
Works great... just flashed on virus kingdom rom... and no complaints... thank you
just wanted to ask if all the problems that existed with the old skype still exist with this version?? mainly the battery drainage battery and the app not closing out like it should.
very nice ty ty

Well for all my video chat apps like, qik, tango, fringo, and skype, I go to running apps and kill the process, do this if your app will not close, I have never had to but that should close the app, now remember that you can also configure the settings with-in the app itself too. Optional= make sure in skype setting that close immediately is checked, uncheck skype status in notification settings, and probally uncheck sign in automatically.
Havn't used skype in a while. Has anyone tried this on android 2.3.4 (evo-deck rom)

I am on CM7 Nightly 141, and I can get video of them, and we can talk to each other, but they cannot see me. I tried both front/back cameras and got nothing.
It's Android 2.3.4. I'm running SZ CFS SBC enabled kernel.
Not working for me. I see my video come up when i call someone but as soon as they answer the video shuts off.
Edit: it works. Had to update my skype on my computer.
just tried using this on CM7 7.0.3.1 and I was able to see the person clearly...but my cam was blank...I couldnt see myself and they couldnt see me either....any suggestions?

Im not sure why it's not working, try clearing the app data, uninstall, reboot phone then install app again, I only tested it on the four roms listed in the the op, I havent used cm7 in a few months now, I've been switching between virus and synergy! Try the uninstall method first, if that doesnt work then try flashing a sense 2.3.3 rom!

Found a Working 2-Way Call Recorder (No Speakerphone Junk)

Finally, after an exhaustive search, I've found a working solution for 2-way call recording on the Skyrocket (no beeps too!). If you're lost in the sauce looking for this very thing, take a look at my thread in the Development Section for all the juicy details..
You need to be rooted with CWM Recovery already flashed, and understand how to flash .zip files in CWM..

No offense, but speak for yourself.. CallRecorder does not function straight out of the box on the AT&T Skyrocket. This is likely due to AT&T's "special" implementation of the API.
I'm glad it works for you, but you're not the only one with a Skyrocket. Don't just look at a screenshot and assume you know the whole story..

Call recorder works for me but I'm using Sky ICS. I use to use total recall(need speaker phone though). Then I moved onto sipdroid. It records both sides of conversation without speaker phone. But by far the best( for me) is callrecorder using Sky ICS.

You're right! In fact, Sky ICS is what gave me this idea. I knew it was possible for a while, but I just wasn't sure how until I did a little reverse engineering. This uses the same tools basically, but it works on a number of different ROMs.. No ball and chain, you see.
I'm going to put the instructions out there for public consumption relatively soon. I'm just gathering information to see if there's any ROMs or kernels this doesn't work on.

Listen: The newer versions of Callrecorder (like the one you so graciously provided) don't work on the AT&T Skyrocket for some reason without modifying certain system libraries. Look as the posts above; I said the same thing to nacos. It's not a humongous discovery or anything, but for those people who don't want to or know how to mess around in the root folder structure, it's a working solution didn't exist before.
I paid for the app in Android Market now that I'm sure the newer versions work, but I sincerely appreciate you loaning me your copy to test the modifed libraries with. When I update the OP, I'll be sure to credit you. We cool?
Yeah we good. Just saw this thread right after i gaved it to you so that was my thoufht. I really dont take credit for it as i just found that online.

I know this thread is old, but since I just had to get this installed and setup, thought I'd share:
For a stock ICS Skyrocket, CallRecorder https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder&hl=en Ver: 1.3.1 works. The previous versions indicated in this thread do not.
To get it working, you have to set it to Record Calls From: Standard Android API
-and-
under Standard Android API preferences, select: Audio Source --> Voice call uplink + downlink.
That's it. The other settings are optional.
this worked on Stock AT&T ICS, 4.0.4, Kernel 3.0.8, Baseband I727UCLF6. Sound is good.
Do you guys know how to get the dialer-call-recorder on RUXLF3 / Stock Rogers ICS ?
What if you are still running the old, stock gingerbread (UCLA3)? I installed CR last summer and it ran flawlessly until I had to reset my phone last week. Now I can't get it to record both sides of my phone conversations.

[REQ][MOD] Enable Call Recording

I'm not a dev unfortunately so I would like to place this request if anyone is able to modify this MOD to work on the SCH-I535? Seems like the GT-I9300 and SGH-I747 already have it working.

It's working on the D2VZW.... Just depends on which ROM you use if it's baked in or not. Otherwise you'll need to find a 3rd party app.(Which I'm actually looking for a decent one if you know of one.)
