Just did the Hulu trick using the modified libflashplayer.so.
Video plays but the sound is very very slow.
Anyone had any luck with this?
Not hulu. But crunchyroll is all messed up also. The sound is off like slow/echo type. Their app works fine, but their website with flash is no go.

I have a 4 TB NAS appliances on our home network loaded with all our family's media. This works great for our other networked devices (blu-ray players, wii, 360, etc) and using the builf in file manager on the G I can map to the NAS. Problem comes whenever it hits some xvid/divx/mpg video files, it just won't play.
Any recommendation of an app that can do media from a network server?
There is a dlna app that comes with the droid x that I don't believe is tied into the framework. I will see if I can link the files for it.

Getting a decent uPnP client is on my list of ToDo's - I'm hoping that we can port the Archos video player over, just for that purpose.
Found a link to the APK, but I haven't tried it yet...

<edit> Parse Error: There is a problem parsing this package. when trying to install it via Root Explorer.
<edit2>Copied the link wrong which caused the parse error, APK installs correctly and the app runs fine as a DLNA server. ( I didn't verify connectivity), but it force-closes if you select "Network Settings Set up Wireless Access Points" possibly due to the TnT version of Settings?
either way, it makes your gTablet a server, not a client so you won't be browsing your NAS with this APK...
ah well, looks like we might be waiting for kernel source or a custom compiled kernel to get streaming video.

I found an app called UPnPlay in the market that is working really well for me. If you are familiar with the Archos media player this has very similar capability. If you haven't done the market fix you probably won't find it though.
I was just watching a movie streaming from my Windows home server on my G tablet. Played nice.. Took it a few minutes to initially find my server but it did.

Nice tip used it and rockplayer worked perfect
This is a nice app - tried it and it found my media player (PS3MediaServer) fairly quickly. It did crash once, but it's certainly better than nothing.
It plays audio and photos well, but video seems a bit choppy on my setup so far. I have all different types of containers / codecs so I might have to find the sweet spot - Xvid / MP3 / AVI's seem to play best.
Thanks for the find!
No mkv support, but otherwise looks good
Heck, this thing even found our DirecTV HD DVR as well as the uPnP NAS!

I think it's limited by the video player - and MKV support on the GTab is very limited, unfortunately.
Fantastic Find! Thanks Sprdtyf350-
Nice!
This finds my MythTV server. I am able to play .wmv videos on the MythTV server, with the default player. But it is unable to play the MythTV recordings of OTA digital (HDTV). These are a form of mpeg-2 video, similar to what a standard DVD is. If we can find a player that can play DVD files, then I think it will play MythTV recordings too.
ORB LIVE is the answer.
Orb is the Answer to this... if we can make it work.... I use Orblive on my EVO and it works amazingly. I can stream from anywhere and it decodes most files. It runs over Wifi, 3g and if I am on the same network as my server, it goes direct without hitting the Internet. I works GREAT.
But unfortunately, it doesnt work right on my GTAB. This could be specific to my device, but it cannot stream the files. This sucks because this is one of my main uses for buying this device. With Flash fixed, I can stream through the internet via the orb.com webpage. But the App works much better. If anyone that understands the codecs of these things can figure out how to make the orblive app work, it would be amazing.
To the G tablet users using UPnPlay, how do divx files do for seeking/searching? I'm using UPnPlay on my Evo with both Rockplayer and Vplayer and neither searches or seeks particulary well..... or at all. If the video file plays with Androids native video player, it seeks just fine.
I don't want to be forced to always begin playback and the start of the video and not be able to resume where I left off if I have to leave the player/app.
I have been able to get both ORB and TVeristy to stream videos, music, pictures to my GTablet with very very good results. both have the strong points (Orb has a cleaner interface, but TVeristy has streams faster.
The secret is to setup each to use FLASH as the Stream encoder. This means you must install the FLASH APK (Search this site you will find links)
In TVeristy, you do this with
http://MyIpAddress:41952/flashlib
In Orb
You need to set the your skin to HOME THEATER. And your Streaming to FLASH.
No special Video player or other hacks needed. Should work on all MODS and well as STOCK.
In Cyanogen (Maybe in other mods), you have to click the Down Arrow the first time to Start-up FLASH.
The video quality is amazing even when tethered using my phone.
How is your luck with streaming ac3 encoded audio streams with video on tversity? I keep coming up with video and no sound. What codec pack are you using? What options did you pass to ffdshow? Tyia.
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
I did not do any special configuration or change any FFSHOW settings. The only thing I cannot stream is ripped RAW DVD files.
Im using tversity on my windows home server and was running into the no sound issue with flash. I went to tversity's site and saw that for tversity to stream sound using the flashlib, the streaming computer needs to have a soundbcard installed.
I would be hard pressed to find a home computer that does not have a sound card. But good to know. My motherboard (HP) has an integrated sound card and appears to work properly. Also, remember that with the CyanogenMod, you need to use the Headphone trick or the Headphone widget to get sound working after a re-boot.
Does any one know of how to have the browsers auto-Start the Flash player?
I use Dolphin HD and when you set it up set flash to Always by default its (on demand) if you already set it up and need to change it, its in the options menu of the browser.
I have integrated sound on my computer serving tversity. What I think the problem stems from is that it is trying to pass the Facebook audio along without reencoding it. I've been trying everything I can come up with for the week trying to get around the sound issue with no luck. What codec pack are you using?

Are you using the ORBLIVE app, or just using the web page?
Just the web Page. By setting it to HOME THEATER, it looks awesome. Give it a try
What do you mean "Home theater"?
I have been using the website to view.... my problem with the website is that it does not cache very well, and I get alot of pauses. AND... when it lags enough to lose the video, there is no skipping ahead, so you have to start from the beginning again. The App caches better and it easily skips ahead.
Is anyone's VPlayer FCing on them? I was using it yesterday morning and afternoon and all was fine. Transferred some files over to the phone just now and now I can't use the app anymore as it keeps on FCing on me. The app is removed from the Market as well so I'm not sure if the two are related.
Also, does anyone have a video player app that they recommend? It has to be able to play RMVB files smoothly.
Gave ArcMedia another try after speeding up my SD card and it doesn't lag anymore, but the audio and video slowly gets out of sync.
As for VPlayer, it continues to FC. Looks like we got shafted again.
I'm new to this whole experience and so far have had a great ride. The support has been great, all of the time and effort put into creating and making available the fixes and mods is fantastic.
I first got VeganTab to work then installed the flash fix so that I can watch movies on Hulu. With a few hiccups it worked, sort of. Video plays from Hulu and any other flash-enabled site, but no sound. The sound is on and working, I just can't get anything to play from the browser. I own that I am new, but it is not a hardware/system issue. It may be a browser issue, I haven't seen any sound settings in the browser config. I've used Dolphin HD Browser and the stock one with the same results. I've tried viewing videos on youtube, hulu, and speednet. The youtube app plays video with sound correctly.
Using a Nexus7 tablet w/Skifta and an app called DVD Media PLayer by Hadapp.com.
This the only combo of apps I've found that "kinda" plays DVD iso files.
I'm using Skifta to browse for ISO's on my Ubuntu server via Samba, then Skifta hands off playback to DVDMP.
Problem is video opens and either is very distorted or plays at 2X/3X speed.
DVDMP is not even listed on Hadapp.com but is a top hit on Play store for DVD player.
Just curious if anyone is getting same results, has found a fix, or knows of another app.
I know I can encode into a different video format, but would rather not.
Thanks
Heh found that DVDMP was doing Air Push ads as well. So I really need different app.
Anyone?

There are some adds wothe the player, but I do not find them annoying. If you want to remove the adds, the app is only $5...
Let me know if it worked for you?
