[Q] Home screens hang - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It seems that every few days my Sprint Nexus S gets hung on the home screen, and I can no longer swipe to change screens. If I hit the bottom right and left buttons, I can manually change the screen, but swiping left or right changes nothing.
Has anyone else noticed this? I wonder if it's getting too bogged down with open apps. Coming from the Epic, I was constantly closing apps from the Program Monitor, which isn't on the Nexus S.

[Q] Launcher Pro Error? Please Help~

I only want 5 home screens but it is currently set to 7. when I change my home screen settings to 5 screens, I loose the 2 screens on the far right, i dont care about loosing those screens but when I tried to just move my apps and widgets back to the left, I cannot add anything to the far left 2 screens. I keep getting a "No more room on this Home Screen" message. I cant even long press an app from my app drawer and add to this screen. Basically my two left screens are just blank and useless. I adjusted my default screen to 1 and then 2 and I still couldn't get anything added to the screen. Please help, I am about to throw this thing through the wall.
With five screens, you would want to set the default screen to 3. 1,2,3,4,5 from left to right so three would be the middle.
Sent from a phone somewhere in the universe
I forgot to mention that I had moved my main default to 3 That is not a problem though, even with my default at 3, screens 1 and 2 are completely blank. Is there a lock setting somewhere outside of Launcher Pro that I dont have set or my version of Launcher just corrupt? Has anyone ever heard of this happening? If so how did you fix it?

What kind of lock screen is this?

Somehow I keep accidentally activating it, but it's basically just a dim blank screen that only shows the time and date, and the two tabs for the edge screen?
It happens every time I pick my phone up..thanks. I can't seem to find it anywhere.
This is the quick notification from the edge alerts. You can swipe the tabs on the side towards the middle of the screen to see what they contain.

Edge: anyone get recent apps key presses from resting phone on pinkie?

When I hold my phone the bottom rests on my pinkie. Ever since getting the phone, having it rest on my pinkie will activate the recent apps button and trigger multi window. It's like the frame is contacting the capacitive key and acting as a conductor. Not sure if I should return it or if it's normal?
I have this issue of S7 flat. Not always but randomly, e.g. I swipe down and application switch enables itself. Or I press the button and multi window dialog displays.
Same thing is happening to me. Randomly comes up when my finger is on the bottom left side.
sadly me too also ... i reported samsung and they told they will call back . nobody called till now.. i think samsung did some wrong on recent app button hardware.. i am having s7 edge.
Me too
Back too
Sides as well
Overall, I find the screen and the capacitative buttons way too sensitive
Looks like this 42mb update fixed it as I can not reproduce it
The update did not fix it for me. I'm still finding that when my thumb isn't even touching the back button, but just hovering over it a few mm, that it activates the back button. Also, when scrolling through pages, I've noticed ghost button presses of the back button.
Having the same issue on my s6 edge, it's like my pinkie somehow triggers the recent apps button and after that, if i press a little bit to the left of my back button, it will always trigger recent apps. Usually happens when im in bed browsing something on the phone and it gets tilted to the left side. Only reboot seems to be helping to get rid of it.
i have the same issue. It doesnt bother too much atm, but it can become annoying. Im using s7 edge exynos variant. There are quite a few reports on internet about it, but no solution yet

Different Multitasking Windows

I have been aware of multitasking by holding down the app manager button, but in the process of playing today with Chrome I realized that if you hold on to the top right edge of the screen just past the options menu and drag down to the center of the screen you will resize the app into a window. I tried this with other multitasking apps and it worked. It's cool too that they get minimized into chat head like circles if you return to the home screen and can have more than 2 running. Just wanted to share this in case that people weren't aware if it.

LG VS920 Spectrum: Unknown Screen Blocking Home Screen

LG VS920 Spectrum, ICS.
Recently, after booting from regular or Safe Mode, the phone does not get to the PIN lock screen. Instead there's a rectangular screen in the middle surrounded by black space. That middle screen consists of 3 sets of screens that are accessed by swiping up or down.
One screen set consists of different clocks that can be accessed by swiping right or left of each image.
Another screen consists of a Notifications status screen. There is no left-right swiping for that screen.
Another screen consists of the music player interface that plays tunes via the player controls. There is no left-right swiping for that screen.
A phone call screen pops up when someone calls and we can accept the call and talk.
However, we can't consistently get to the PIN lock screen or the regular phone interface to access apps. We've tried removing the battery and booting in Safe Mode, but none of that makes a difference. However, the lock screen occasionally appears if we keep making attempts to move the phone to different positions.
After removing the lock screen we can pull down notifications but still can't get to the Home screen by pressing the Home button. I was intermittently able to access the phone screens long enough to take some screenshots of the offending window that is blocking the Home screen.

Any ideas on how we can get the phone back to normal operation will be appreciated. Thanks.
[Solved]
I think the problem was due to the Pouch Mode feature, which allows some app features such as notifications to appear after pulling the phone out of a pocket or pouch.
Connectivity -> Pouch Mode was enabled. The pre-Home screen problem went away after I disabled it.
Also I have the same problem
