So, if anyone could be so kind to tell me what prog i need or were abouts on the internal/external memory i put the actual apk files id be well chuffed thankyou. Ive tried to install android commander but it lost me with installing this sdk and jdk ect (and said my abd doesnt work) is there a simpler way?

'kay i bought a new phone without realising it had not got the android market for downloading apps.
How do i put apps on my phone using an SD card. I cannot put astro file manager to install apps because i have no market.. So how do install the .apk files using a PC and SD card?
,thanks
i dont know how you dont have market, but if you have an internet connection on your phone root it and throw some custom roms on there.
else, look up a tutorial on setting up adb and then do
adb install file.apk
how can you buy an android phone without the market :S
visit theunlockr.com for a tutorial and root your phone. transfer any .apk to your sd card and then just 'open' them. Job done
Hello I have been trying to use Android on Rhodium (Touch Pro 2, Tilt 2) Updated Build from the website. Project Android Rebuild: (I cant link to the site)
Here's my issue. I was installing the CAB file for Reference Build: Stock 2.2 Froyo
Now everything was working to a point. I would install it and I would have all the features and so forth, but I was stuck in airplane mode. After doing some digging on the site, I seen if I took out the SIM card I would catch my carrier (sprint). Everything was working fine. I was stoked. Then I ran out of program memory.. I found this odd as it was already on my memory card. I read that I had to use a program to move programs tot he sdcard inside android. seemed it was a little to late and once I downloaded a program to do it it corrupted some of the files which then I had to format my memory card.. Back to the drawing board.
So now it seems as the phone or the memory card isn't routed any more.. This is driving me insane. I still have the SIM card out. Would that be the issue why it isn't finding the SDCARD? I even had a backed up folder of where everything worked. I threw it on the SDCARD to see if I can trick the system some how, and to no avail the SDCARD wasnt coming up in the system options.. I am so stuck and cant figure it out.. If there is a alternitive way to do this please let me know, I find the CAB way to be the easiest as I never flashed a ROM before. Thanks in advance and thank you all for this great community!

Alright so Ive been searching for posts on this and trying to figure this out for hours and Im almost fed up. Ive tried multiple different ways of downloading and extracting the froyo/super oneclick and have multiple different problems. The latest problem Ive had is I can get the root, and nandroid folders into my sd card while the usb connection, then when i switch to porta and tools the files wont be in my sd card anymore. Other problems Ive ran into are my computer wont be able to read the open recovery and therefor wont put it into my sd card... Ive tried unzipping the file into my sd card, on the the desktop, ect. Ive also tried just downloading the .zip file strait to the desktop an dragging and dropping into my sd card, and nothing works...
Can someone PLEASE tell me where im going wrong? And maybe send me in the right direction?

You need to have usb debugging checked in settings/development I think. Then while plugged in switch to portal and tools and run superoneclick from your pc not from your sdcard to root. You won't see the root of your sdcard while in portal and tools
Have you watched my videos?
There is a link in my sig.

Be sure not to forget about the USB debugging. It is something so simple, but easy to forget.
For your root problem, download Universal Androot apk and put it on your SD card. Use some file mgr and install. Click root and woot you're done and rooted.
For open recovery issue, you need to make sure phone is USB debugged and in mass storage mode. Unzip OR and put contents on SD card ( you'll need a folder called openrecovery and another named nandroid-zip contents go in openrecovery folder and when you make a back up, they will populate into the nandroid folder), but also put openrecovery.zip on card.
+1 on Rev's bids. Very helpful to familiarize yourself with proper partitions and basic Linux.
Yeah rev I was using your video watching it over and over lmao and I would make one dumb little simple mistake here or there... but I finally got it. And thanks to the other answer as well guys.
Now, is there a way to make my status bar black or is that out of the question?

You can use Metamorph or Zip Themer (both in market for free) to change you status bar or other things. Make a nandroid first and if you find that you really don't like what you have done, just restore the System part of the nandroid and you are back to the original you had.
Metamorph will work if you want to change 1 or 2 or 3 things but will require a reboot after all three. With Zip Themer you can create a whole package and apply it that way. I can't get it to work right but that is my own issue and not something wrong with the program. 3rdstring has a nice theme going over on the Themes and Apps forum if you want to take a look.
Hit those thanks buttons if anything helps you out and good luck.
I'm able access my phone's storage on my pc and supposedly place files there, but when I use astro to look for the files, I can't find anything. I'm trying to flash cyanogen or even just install any sort of apk. Everything I've searched says to mount the sd card, but I don't have one. The phone doesn't come with one. I figured the hd on teh phone would be enough. I've rooted my phone, but that seems dumb if I cant even install anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm pretty sure even if you don't have an sdcard, a folder still exists that acts like an sdcard. It's something like /mnt/sdcard or /mnt/external1
Why hallo there peeps!
I have rooted my Z3 and before that I copied everyting from the internal and SD card to my Macbook through Droid Nas and it worked flawlessy. The problem is to get it back... Is there no easy way to do it??? The infernal horror way of blocking writing to the SD card after Kitkat 4.4 is just pain in the ass :/
I have been searching and trying but havent found any easy way... Sofar the only way Ive found is to copy files to the internal and then copy it manually back to the SD card..
There has got to be a better way than this?
Install xposed and download the module kitkat sd card full access to fix

Have you tried just browsing a network share from File Commander and using that to copy directly to the SD card?
I haven't tried this yet myself, I just use USB to copy stuff as its faster but I think File Commander has better access to storage being the system file manager.
why not use a card reader for the sd card? the issue with kitkat was applications/data writing to the sd card unless the fix was applied, from what you are saying you are having issues copying from the computer to the sd card when its in the phone

Well I know that works but I want to get it working to copy directly to the phone the freedom and access ya know.
I tried last night with File Commander and it worked fine.
Set up a a share of the music folder on my HTPC.
I then used the Local Network function in File Commander with the following settings.
Domain: workgroup
Server: HTPC/Music/
User: (username)
Password: (password)
Server name is just the name of the network device and the name of the shared folder.
I was able to copy over folders of music from the HTPC to my phones SD card directly over wifi. It wasn't particularly fast though but both devices are on wifi.
File Commander could be a bit better at selecting multiple folders at a time though and whiles it's copying, you can't use the app for anything else.

http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer I used version 2.6.1 on mines for T-Mobile Z3 and it works flawlessly give that one a shot.
Gutdamnit, I cant get no xposed to work. I tried the latest , 2.6.1 and it says:
"Xposed is not (yet) compatible with Android SDK version 21 or your processor arcittexture (armeabi-v7a).
CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE: could not load library "libdvm.so" needed by "/data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/cache/app_process"; caused by library "libdvm.so" not found"
What to do?

Download FolderMount. Run it, grant it root access, and then let it patch the system to allow full write access to external storage. After the phone reboots and you've verified it works, you can uninstall FolderMount.
Finally got it working, checked out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811 and installed the Alpha release and it worked
So know I got Xposed working and all the mods I want, finally!
Thanks for all the help peeps! :good:
