Lockscreen Response FIX!

So I have been reading on all the "problems" that this device has, and I've stayed pretty quiet about all the griping over minor things. (coming from the Vibrant and the G2X makes me pretty resilient to "bugs".
Sadly no one ever really talked about how it is a software problem. Everyone wanted it to be hardware related even though the touchscreen works for every other app.

Here's the fix, it's quite simple.
1) go to HTC hub and download a new theme (mine was music lover)
2) apply the theme
3) reboot phone
4) pull the ring to unlock
5) go back to XDA and hit the thanks button

I've replaced mine so I don't have it right now.
Unresponsiveness is not just lockscreen issue. It was effecting every apps on mine. I couldn't type, get carousel effect etc. Does this solve all of these?

Give it a try....won't hurt ya one bit to change themes. When ya get your device back of course.

Looks like you didn't read carrefully As I said I've replaced mine so I don't have this issue on my new device. That means I can't test this.

I never had unresponsiveness in any other app. Maybe I just got a perfect Sensation... well almost perfect (s-on)

Mine is so damn responsive, sometimes when I scroll the application drawer a little bit it opens an application

I saw the 'unresonponsive' threads, and was somehwat amused, since my screen appears to behave normally...but for the heck of it, I tried the carousel, and could NOT get it to rotate fast AT ALL! Other regular nav/touches worked fine. I just tried this 'fix', and can now get fast rotation on carousel easily! It was worth clearing defaults (LancherPro) and playing with it to get this 'fix' working. Now, back to LPro!

I posted this on another thread but I noticed that if you swipe really fast on one screen, without moving between home screens, it will always spin.
Just swipe really fast.

Can you just apply one of the themes already on the phone? busted did not work, no thanks here. Just dloaded and installed music lover, no go. Who said the problem works in every other app? mine does not. Anywhere you try to swipe/scroll. home screens, contacts, pictures, LOCK RING, fruit ninja.. registers as a touch( a lot of touches) instead of a swipe. I dont think a software update will fix it. If it would then it should work when i restore phone to factory defaults, it does not, yet it worked fine at those same settings when it was new.

That is the problem! lol that is NON responsive. Swipes are not registering as swipes, instead registers as a tap. Thats why an app opens. I open an app almost every time i try to scroll through the app drawer. NOT how it should be.

No it does not. Not on mine. Yours will get worse untill that doesnt work for you either.

Why you always gottqa be freaking negative? Even on the fre3vo thread you freaking out on people. I tested this on mine, 1 swipe and the carousel appears.

I have to agree this did make a difference in the 3D carousel spinning. I don't know about other issues as I have not had them yet.

Ok let me be positive and see if that helps. brb.. Nope, still no carousel. All i did was inform you that what you think is actually good, is in fact one of the issues. Our sensations should not be opening apps when swiping. My evo didnt, my N1 didnt, my iphone didnt, but the newest latest and greatest device does. I have a right to be negative. Sorry if i offended you.

if some awesome phone comes out in the coming months, ill have this phone back, i get 2 upgrades this month(mine & my girls) and i'm getting the infuse,she wants it too but i said to wait with the 2nd upgrade
and ill still get to tinker every once & awhile
if i can get camera(right it actually does take pix just BLUE just no preview) & gsensor working it'll be this rom being worked on

Hey drowning... You may want to double check your rom. XD I got no capacitive buttons right now. I can fix myself, but others may not understand. But wifi working is absolutely beautiful.

Nice work ill wait though till it gets most bugs ironed out

I'll be helping with it until I get my Inspire. No ETA on that though.

sorry about that just popped in the /system
as the one i was using on my device(the nandroid) was corrupted in the transfer to my laptop

take liberty-keypad.kl from a liberty rom and put it in /system/usr/keylayout
my fault for the issue
once i get accelerometer to work again i will re-up

My buttons work but they don't light up. Oh well xD

I think I may have a few HW fixes, but not sure yet. Could be a boot loop. Lets find out!
Btw to all who use this: When you hit shutdown, but your going into HBOOT for Recovery, make sure to take the battery out before you try. It tends to try to Hot Restart itself when you dont take the battery out.

That could be why! No idea how to nail it, but not worried about it. Gotta worry about this HW. Which I just got stuck at splash screen with. Stuck on Flushing Chain part. Gonna try a complete wipe. Nope. That didn't work either. Okkayyyyy... What the heck did I change!

Yeah! I noticed that. Another way to get around that without taking the battery out is to uncheck the Fastboot under the Power settings.

Disk drive mounting works for me. No idea about you guys.

Gps works!!! Has me almost to a pinpoint.

camera closes

My camera does not start up. goes to a black screen and then back to my home screen.
Any ideas on the cause of this? I am running the leaked gingerbread OTA
It just started doing this been running the leaked OTA for a week with no problems

FIX:
1. Go to Settings and select Date & Time.
2. Un check Automatic
3. Change the time to 08-01-11
4. Go and open your camera (it should work now)
5. Now you can go back and check Automatic in the Time & Date Setting

try it again.. it worked for me and a buddy.. you need to to change the date on your phone to august 1st. then try using the camera a couple of times..
once it works, just click it back to automatic for your date and time

Try the date change again. Leave it for five. Open the camera and it should work. I tried my camera and it did not work then tried the camcorder and that worked then back to the camera and that worked. Then set date back to auto.

What causes this? Is it preventable?
I loaded the leaked GB on both mine and a friends phone same time and I am the only on that has gotten the issue, or is it with the phone?

This is an issue that came up last night across many custom ROMs and stock GB RUUs. This LINK is a download for a flashable .zip that will fix the problem permanently.
The link provided may be credited to this post, as well as mpwt51 on the Android Central Forums and Snow02 on the BAMF Forums. I will also post a link in my q AND a stickied at the top of the QandA forum.

No. It was affecting any ROM using the gapps with Gtalk video. Some weirdness to do with a file that uses camera mainly, but also tied into Gtalk's video feature. The fix is actually for the camera, but it gets gtalk going again.

HTC timebombed a lib used by the camera and it expired 8/31. It was probably an accident and not malicious in nature. The lib (and several camera libs) were dated back from May. Even the 2.01 alpha had newer camera libs.

As you folks have already noticed, 2.11.605.0 will NOT be the final release version, LOL.

Can any one come up with a permanent fix for the camera, because it seems to reset when the phone is powered on?

Yesterday, my gtalk app stopped working, my camera stopped working, now my phone is going crazy. Im on uber bamf and its just crazy. re-flashing isnt working or anything.

I had this problem after flashing a custom lockring. So I formatted and restored nandriod and still had the same problem. My issue was gtalk instantly fc at startup, didn't even notice the camera didn't work until I read up on this problem. I blamed it on the new cwm update that just hit yesterday because some people were having issues with it too. But apparently that wasn't the case.

It boots but like he said nothing works. No data nothing. So you can swipe screens. I also thought by flashing that and then flashing the At&t zip after that it might work. Hells Nope! Us canadians are shafted

There is a working rogers cwm flashable ics, though. a few of us have it, but im on att and cant say what all works and what doesnt. They have told me most stuff is working, though

So... I'm really confused now.
Multiple searches, and reading tons of this forum on a daily basis for several months now had led me to the conclusion that the i727 and i727R are identical hardware... how is it possible that this isn't working on Rogers? Could it be something as silly as an environment variable set differently somewhere?
Looking forward to seeing a post that somebody cracks this puzzler soon. As far as I can tell all of the ATT and Rogers ROMS up to now were interchangable...
Have I misunderstood, or are these phones not physically (chipset, hardware...) identical?

same phone same hw but that leak was built with an ics baseband that rogers lacks in short rogers users are missing a piece of software

They are as identical as two phone with different branding can be. The software is different and that leak is very AT&T specific. So there's something in there that screws up the R. If you take it south and run an AT&T SIM I'll bet it works just fine. The good news is that it is software so someone will find it and make a more generic version. Besides, I'm here to *not* run a stock ROM so I'm staying far away until it settles down and the devs have dived in.

Alright, beautiful. this works on my Rogers i727R. Just I have the home button issue. I'll look over the phone to see what else is working and not working over the next few hours while I'm in class.

1) Receiving errors when trying to download apps on the market.
2) Trying to fix the home button. It works on start up on the homescreen, but once an app opens it stops working.

both known issues with fixes. (the main at&t threads talk about his)
Factory reset until home issue goes away
clear data/force stop to download apps.

I had that same error on my skyrocket but it fixed after i did a factory reset and the market updated to the play store.

I figured that was the problem, but my market won't update. Anything I can do to force it to update to Play Store?

a while back i had the problem where it wouldn't update so i just had my girlfriend send the Play Store apk to me from her skyrocket with an app sharer and that caused it to work

eventually it will. automatically maybe try clearing data as previously mentioned but then do a soft reset?

Yup. It eventually did randomly.
Last problem I'm encountering is I seem to be stuck on 4G and unable to get LTE, unless the icon at the top is having trouble.

Nice! Does this update the modem & baseband as well? Can you post a screen of your About Phone settings?

ICS Perfection

I have been here reading about the glitches folks are having with the ICS leak such as shutdown-reboot freeze, freeze on mms deletion, battery consumption and others. I am happy to say that I have not experienced any of these glitches, other than the contacts tab missing from the phone app (and thats is not even technically a glitch). I have been resistant to flashing any of the new CWM Roms because this original oneclick version runs so perfectly for me. Is there anything from my phone that the Devs might want to look at to help narrow the cause of these issues that others are having?

Same, no issues here. This is the first leak that I have had no problems with.

First flash I had no home button, second flash (current) my home button is a little laggy, all the other buttons vibrate isntantly but home has a very slight delay, doesnt really affect anything. everything else seems to work, except google wallet for me.

first flash was perfect, i borked it trying to import AOSP pieces haha
second flash was no home button, factory reset fixed that, still have the reboot problem though.

sometimes when i use rynga or viber i loose the incall sound so i have to restart the phone to fix it.. and i use them but then i loose the sound again

So when deleting txt messages it doesn't forceclose on you either? You must be the only one cause its happening to everyone that's reported issues with the release.

Nope, no FC on deleting mms or sms. I will make a screencast video to show the normal operation. I was hoping that maybe some files in my phone would be useful to a dev to get it fixed for others. The only thing I have done to it other than install basic apps is to root and add GO Launcher with ics theme.

Can anyone confirm that tethering (non-AT&T approved) is working with the leak? That's the one thing keeping me from upgrading from the GB from I'm on.

Is this better? And to be clear, I never said it was a "fix" or "workaround" in any way. Read the OP, and you will see that this is the one click method install with no mods other than root and Go Launcher. I stated it worked on it's own correctly.

I have done some further reading and noticed the people not getting these problems are the ones such as myself who did no kind of wipe before using Odin and oneclick solution to upgrade from GB to ICS. I did no wipes only because I got ahead of myself accidentally. Maybe this time it paid off for me. Has anyone looked into the possibility that it is the initial wipe process causing the issues that are being presented?

So I watched the video, and since I had this problem was skeptical. I noticed you used delete threads from menu. I was def getting force close when long pressing and hitting delete thread. I tried it your way, and it worked fine. Then I tried it with long click and it works now too. Problems that fix themselves, don't get it. But I'll take it
