Hi all,
I need a little help on getting andriod onto my old htc. I have got to the point where I have put all the .cab files on my formatted SD card and selected the .exe through filexplorer. Initially it looks as though I am in business but all I get is a white explorer screen which doesnt go anywhere!
Can anyone point me in the right direction to which I can acheive andriod?
Here are my phone info for anyone that wants it!
HTC Touch HD T8282
Rom version: 1.14.405.3 (22273) WWE
Radio Version: 1.09.25.14
Win 6.1 Prof

Does this section cover the HTC S720 model? i see its the S710 but there the same arent they?
I just want to know if im able to upgrade to 6.1WM or if theres nothing out yet for my model...
Same for ring tones and themes and other cool apps.

ringtones and apps should work w/o problems on your HTC s720 (aka HTC Libra). for upgrading to a new ROM i'm not sure, i think here we need more info about the libra (what version has the spl, ipl, is it unlocked, what for a CID, and so on).
maybe one of the cooks could help here with more knowledge than /me .
also have a look at the wiki, sometimes really helpfull and always interersting VOX Wiki Pages.

It has CDMA not GSM, therefore other drivers are needed. Extract a ROM for the S720 (if you find one, otherwise get it from the device itself). Then replace the OEMDrivers folder from a Vox ROM and cook a ROM with that. That should be a start, but I don't know if you can use the Vox USPL. So no idea if you will be able to flash it.

Well ive got no idea how to do any of that lol, im totally new to the HTC products and just came from using a long line of Blackberrys.
Maybe ill wait for microsoft to release the WM6.1

And thank YOU sir, that was alot of help, im going to go read that thread now and see what i am able to do with my phone.
I am having trouble installing Windows Mobile 6.5 on a HTC Touch HD. I have extrected all the files to a folder and then I have connected my Touch To the computer and have activated activesync. I have then opened up the PDA Phone Rom Update Utility and followed the instructions. The HTC Touch HD gets stuck on 0% and the PDA Phone Rom Update Utility displays an error 262-the update utility has encounterd Communication problems with the device. how can i resolve this problem?
Which Operating system are you using on your PC?
When on XP what ActiveSync version?
Did you hard-SPL the HD?
and, did you make sure your device is actually detected and installed on your PC properly?
Hey, I have encountered the same problem when I was trying to downgrade my HD from WM 6.5 to 6.1. You may try to upgrade your SPL to 1.56, then cook the ROM to your phone again. At least that how I cooked my HD first time.

Is there any trick to upgrade a blackstone to WM 6.5 used by Touch HD2, i mean, the rom from htc site for touch hd2.

Hey there,
Please do not try and flash an HD2 rom to your HD, or you will end up bricking your device.
If you want 6.5 on your HD, head over to the blackstone forum, Hardspl and choose the rom of your choice.
Make sure you understand the instructions for hardpsl and flashing (it isnt that difficult really).
If all goes wrong, put your phone into bootloader and flash back the official HD rom.

i have a htc touch hd mobile with 6.1 windows with spl 1.54.0000 .....i want to upgrade it to 6.5 windows but i am new in this so i want someone's help.... i have seen some stuff in your site but i have difficulties in the start....my htc does not even connect to the pc.... when i enter the bootloader mode it doesn't tell me usb on the bottom.... and anyway the drivers and the other stuff where should i extract them??? to my memory card??? plzz someone help.... in simple steps.... from the start plzz..... as you understand i am really new in this and i really want to do upgrade my mobile.... i would really appriciate your help....

Hey, if you want to flash wm6.5 then just download a stock rom from either Htc or from this site and away you go. lol

Hi Guys
I was wondering if someone could please help me,
i have a SPV m5000 and after installing wrong rom and bricking the phone I then bought a second hand one with damaged screen and told was working ok just damed screen which was unlocked on O2 and I swoped the motherboards over so I now have an O2 motherboard in a orange M5000 phone.
It's working a ok except it shuts down when the battery seems to be half empty and it happens with both my batterys, so I am hopeing it's a bug in the OS and not the phone it's self, so I guess one way to find out is change the rom, I am looking for the most newest and stable rom with instructions on how to install as I am not that up on flashing roms on phones which is clearly obvious .
my phones about page lists my phone as follows,
Windows mobile 6.1 professional
CE OS 5.2.21028 (Build 21028.1.6.0 TML)
processor PXA270-520MHz
memory 48.37 mb
I am using this on Orange network but the phones boot screen says O2 when booting, and could someone tell me if the rom for O2 XDA is the same rom as rom for Orange XDA?
If any one would be so kind as to point out the exact rom link I need I would be eternally grateful.

What I personally would do, and probably loads of others at xda, is load it up with Android. I'm sure she will find the phone much more useful. There are plenty of guides in the HD2 section here at xda or at a site like htchd2android.com.
