NEEDS ROOT - BELIEVE IT
Features:
Currently the following alerts are supported:
- In call minute timer
- Outgoing call answered
- Incoming call answered
- Outgoing call failed
- Active call ended
If you have more ideas, or something isn't working, please write to us before leaving a review!

1.0.2.5
Extended Demo to 12 hours
Some tweaks to UI
1.0.2
Added minute timer - allows you to monitor the length of a call. Useful when calling expensive numbers.
Hi everyone! Could we please get some feedback on the release?
I was wondering if this feature is already built into CM7. I'm using infin1ty right now and it seems not to have the feature but I'll try it out.
Im not sure - but from what i remember its not as powerful as our little app.
Just for ****s and giggles, where in CM settings are the vibrate options?
Found them, not very configurable!
Cool beans. I also notice the trial period is a bit short. Any changes in that?
Ever since i let go of my winmo htc touch pro and moved onto the Atrix, have been looking for an app like this. working just as expected, only made two calls tho. but still. great job!
one suggestion, hopefully it isnt too nit-picky but an option to change the delay between vibrations would be awesome for some added customization.
Sure thing, I'll add the delay customisation shortly.
Regarding the trial period - just how much time do you need?
Regarding the trial period - why would you need any more than 3 hours to test this? So you can uninstall it once a week and avoid paying $1?
It either works or doesnt. You either need it or not. Apparently its only a free ride thats worth 5 stars.

Maybe they wanne see how it works when not paying attention to it.
and if someone doesnt get a call within 3 hours.
Test failes.
Maybe. Or they could just ask their mom to call them back. If not, they can always reinstall.
The app provides very simple functionality and 3 hours is more than enough to test it.
Anyway, whatever. You dont like it, you can flash CM and enjoy lots of testing there.

i personally dont care for the function..
i'm just saying that i can imagine why he asked for it.
Sure, but as a dev with some experience in customer relations, i despair when someone gives an app a 3 star review and negative comment because of such an issue. Only to then buy the full version because they are apparently satisfied with testing...
If i made it 5 hours, people with no mates to call them back for testing purposes would still whine that its too short. Remember - there are thousands of far more complex applications on sale that only give you 45 minutes or an hour!
People just love to complain... like you for example - you dont need the functionality, but youre still here complaining.
No offense, of course, just saying.

No. I downloaded the app pretty late and I didn't realize the app had 3hrs demo period. I had no one to try this out with. I really don't have any problem buying applications from the market. I love supporting the devs, so please don't jump to conclusion. Thanks for your time.
Allright. Why not just download it again?
OK, i will be changing the demo length to 12 hours. That should be more than enough!
Also, can i get some feedback on the latest build with the call timer feature?
Updated with a few tweaks and some love (12 hours now, instead of 3).
Any issues with the new build? I would appreciate some feedback or suggestions!
Comments, suggestions?

hi there well i work every night at 12am til whenever as a part time job while i continue my education during the day. well this company is known to mess up your hours. i know i can easily write them down in the notes or the calendar but i never know when my job is done so i gotta always write down something differet and i wanted to see if theres an app or if someone can create an app where its like a calandar type of app but with an 8th row after the Saturday (or sunday. whichever way they wanna end the week) that is like a total row that automatically adds up how many hours you work that week so you have quick and instant access to your hours in case you need to access them quickly. so is there an app like that or can someone pretty please make such an app? a widget doesnt have to be necessary but it could like make it sweeter

I just looked up "timesheet" in the market and myTimeSheet and Time Recording - Timesheet both look pretty good. I (obviously) can't vouch for either of them, but there were 22 results just for timesheet.
i use timeclock by spotlight six, it was a buck or two i think but its pretty slick and worth it, you can email full time logs in csv format, set up clients, set up locations, manual data and time edits
If you like i can write you up a quick one in the app inventor i'd love a reason to test it out more pm me if you would be intrested i can certainly talor it to your liking if you cant find one in the market to suit your needs.
I've been using Time Recording from the market for a month and I love it! It let me enter my pay rate per hour so I know how much I make before taxes and it calculates the hours per day, week, and month I work. Try it.

This is quick comparative review.
Cognition 4- very smooth, eats battery like crazy with minimum services and apps/no Wi-Fi/GSM only. No Brightness fix. DG seems to be busy with his new toy Atrix, so updates to this ROM won't be fast. I didn't have Cognition 4 long enough to analyze what is eating the battery, but just getting it on without reboot and collecting stats will be enough to resolve it.
Torch 1.5 - some jerkiness in launcher (tried different ones as well) and other apps, amazing battery life (had 100% on standby for 3 hours, with minimum services and apps/no Wi-Fi/GSM only). Brightness fix is a huge plus. I didn't like that so many apps got removed, miss QuickOffice and Memo - copied them over from Cognition 4. Overall for apps - I can remove them using SGS Tools, so ROM should come with the most complete set of apps . (except AT&T and Samsung branded). Alternatively, ROM developers can put apps under /data, not under /system, this will make them removable from Manage Apps (won't work for all apps, unfortunately).
As far as bloatware in Torch - I could care less for 6 lock screens, they eat memory as far as I'm concerned. Also there is still Wallpaper chooser with amazingly huge pictures. Got removed first
Overall for KB1.
TiBu restore of system setting from JS32.2.1 or JS52.2.1 other than WiFi highly discouraged. I had uncurable Force Close for Browser and for MMS. Say g-bye to your messaging history, or find other ways of transferring it.
As far as Voodoo Sound - highly desirable feature, absent in both ROMs, I tried to play with #197328640# secret code and Audio settings there - but they don't stick after reboot. It shouldn't be hard to find where are those stored, mount system r/w and rewrite.
I think I found the way to quickly flash ROMs without the hassle of reinstalling all my ~70 apps. Just get *.apk using adb from your current ROM. Then put them in the zip for new ROM under /data/apps. TiBu will restore settings for you.

You obviously do not understand what ryude was trying to do with Torch if you complain about the lack of apps.
As for voodoo sound, well it will happen when the KB1 source is released and devs can do their magic.
For backups, if you have the paid license for TiBu it offers 1-click batch restores. Pretty amazing!
My ROM doesn't have wallpaperchooser, it's built into the launcher. I optimized all the wallpapers so even though it has 30 wallpapers it only takes up 1MB. All of my ROMs take on a minimalist approach, the smallest amount of apps/services without sacrificing functionality. I will probably add more services/apps in the next version though, since so many people ask for it.
Correct me If i am wrong, but one is a rom that is being tweaked and developed. The other is rooted, debloated, stock dump

Both ROMs have a considerable amount of tweaks and while it might not seem like it, took a lot of time to create.

Hi Ryude
Thanks for excellent ROM!
Couple of thoughts:
- thanks about letting know about launcher with wallpapers, will remove it
- battery life since overnight recharge from 7 to 12 stayed at 100%, after enabling Wi-Fi and sync - at 99% at 1:30PM.
Personally I think GPS is a gimmick rather than feature on this phone. My cheap Nuvi beats it hands down with its voice directions, windshield attach etc. But still:
- GPS SUPL server is not supl.google.com (as in PlumbBob Fix)
- also in GPS app settings should be Operation Mode="MS Based" instead of standalone
I don't consider QuickOffice and Memo a bloat - they are valuable and useful apps. And they don't run as a service, so no memory or CPU overhead.
Looks like a lot of small diagnostic apps went bye-bye, judging by secret codes not bringing apps. That is a good thing, because it's hard to investigate which ones are non-essential.
As always - we patiently wait for updates! Small tweets or posts in the forum will keep us salivating.

I make the ROM to my own taste, then when I get feedback like yours I can make changes to it. I will add in the memo and quickoffice to data/app. I'll be adding back many diagnostic services.
I am working on GPS as I write this, it's gonna be hard to get it working right.
Thank you for taking the time to constructively post criticism, I appreciate your feedback.
nevermind. wrong thread
For the record, I have no battery issues - in fact, Cog 4.0 gives me the best battery life out of the stock and 2 other ROMs I've tried. Maybe it's the gallery bug - not affecting me.
DG does good work but judging by his posts in the XDA as a whole, I think he's got too many irons in the fire. I don't think cognition has all his attention.

3 things make for a good developer: Time, Experience, and Passion.
I think DG only has one of those for the captivate.
Some further impressions with Torch 1.5
Some further impressions with Torch 1.5
Battery life in standby does not disappoint. I have my phone third day on without recharge, it was at 85% yesterday, now it is at 50% after 2 hour conference call.
GPS. First to note - Google Maps is not the app you want to use to test GPS. People have issues with it even on iPhone, like driving on oncoming traffic lane etc.
I used Sygic Aura, which has offline maps. It's not free.
Second - judging by opposite posts I think GPS implementation varies between different Captivate batches/builds. So addressing it becomes a real pain.
I applied PlumbBob settings, not actual binary fix: supl.google.com:7276, MS Tracking.
My results with 1006 Rev .04 (couldn't find date) using Sygic Aura in my car are very promising - it gets accurate location within seconds, accurately tracks my drive at ~50mph, gives proper voice warnings etc.
So my suggestion for ROM builders - provide separate binaries for GPS fix (PlumbBob, Adam, stock), so people can try their options before giving up on GPS. At the end though I think it's hardware issue.
Audience noise suppression works, is superior to Voodoo Sound gimmicks. I tested it in bathroom with the loud ventilator on, and recorded a message on my home phone voicemail. Instead of loud whine I heard weak hum in the background with the clear voice.
Bottom line - Torch 1.5 rocks. Voodoo sound can only help with music and ringtone clarity/volumes, not with microphone.

I do most of my calls through my BT headset so I decided I was willing to give up the audience chip support in favor of a 2.2.1 based ROM with the newest SuckerPunch #4 with voodoo sound support. Not regretting the decision at all, music sounds a lot better through my bose qc's, well worth the sacrifice for me.

Yes, I would. If it has all the features including audience chip there would be no reason to run a hacked and slashed kernel from the i9000 or other device if I could have one built from the captivate source. It's sure to offer more stability, or so one would think.
Hello all! I had a thread but it was locked because it was a paid app. Now, there is a free one to check out. It's called Prox Lite and it has just been added to the Android market.
Prox makes use of the phone's proximity sensor and accelerometer to initiate an action. Prox figures out what orientation you are holding the phone and then activates that action when you swipe your hand across the proximity sensor. Prox Lite has 4 actions:
*Flat - Emulate home button
*Toward - Expand and contract notification panel
*Left - Launch phone dialer
*Right - Launch browser (google.com)
All you have to do is turn on the service through the app and then tilt the phone in the direction you are trying to activate the action for and then pass your hand over the proximity sensor and it will activate the action for that direction.
You can amaze your friends, and feel like a Jedi. Imagine the look on your friend's faces when you do things without even touching the phone itself. Just to ease your mind, Prox is disabled when the screen is off and when you are in a call. Normal proximity sensor usage is preserved during these situations to you don't have to worry about Prox doing things when you don't want it to

And, here is a link to the android market
Download Prox Lite from Android Market
Download Prox Lite from GetJar
If you have an issue where it doesn't show up in the market or it says that your device is incompatible, I have made Prox Lite available to XDA peeps via direct apk. If your device will allow install from the market, please use the link above, otherwise, click here to download the apk directly. Downloading from the market allows for easier tracking so I would appreciate it if you would download it from there This is for the members that cannot find the version because of certain software...
P.S. Some users are having trouble with making this work properly. If you are having issues with the left and right actions, try just a slight tilt and then a swipe. Refer to the video for an example of this. Also, different phones have different proximity sensors and some of them just happen to work better than others. Give it a try to see what you think and don't forget to leave a rating in the market. I hope you enjoy this app

This is really cool. My biggest concern right now, having only just tried it for a few minutes, is potential battery drain. If it doesn't end up being too bad, i may consider trying the full version. It would be nice to be able to hide the notification bar icon, but the full version may already have that.
Battery drain is really not all that bad. The listeners are unregistered when the screen goes off. During normal phone use during the beta a few months ago, Prox was only using around 3 - 4 % battery during a normal day. But alas, this depends entirely on how much you actually use the phone itself. If your screen is on for the better part of the day, then drain will occur. But under normal use, it really isn't that bad. Thanks for the feedback

Yeah. I was originally going to put it into the Productivity category on the market, but I think it's more of a novelty than an actual productive applications. It's just cool to show people. There are some things in the paid version that can be put to actual use though. There is a Timer mode that activates an action based on how long you cover the sensor. It could be useful in a car dock or a cradle at home.

I picked up the pro version. So far it's pretty solid. Battery drain is pretty much non-existent, maybe 2% with a lot of screen time.
Some things I would like to see:
Tasker integration (this would be the best addition by far).
A combination of the Timed and normal types so you could hold over the sensor longer for a different option.
Being able to hide the icon in notifications.
Media button options like Previous Track, Play/Pause, Next Track.
Simulating a long-press of the search button to bring up Voice Actions.
Profiles that automatically change based on what app you're in.
Thanks for making this, I've been using it a lot today, and it has already become habit. Keeps my screen cleaner, too.

Im glad that you're liking it! A lot of the things you have mentioned have already been pointed out to me and I am thinking which ones will actually be possible. Some of the things will require root access. But I have a summer job atm (10 1/2 hour days) so I am not really tinkering with it right now. When I get back into school mode, you can pretty much expect to see some if not all of this added to the pro version. I appreciate the feedback and be on the lookout to some awesome future updates
P.S. please leave a comment and rating in the market

It is not currently on any other market but the Android Market. I may add it to some of the ones you have mentioned but it may be a bit before it gets there.
My portal says that it should show up as compatible for the Desire HD. I see that you are running MIUI so that may be the reason for it not showing up. Some custom ROMs and leaked builds of Android cause this and I have no reason why.

My first app, it's pretty basic but it gets the job done. The idea behind Keep Me Alert is that randomly it will sound a gently alarm to make sure you haven't fallen asleep or about to fall asleep. I welcome and would appreciate all constructive feedback. Thanks.

huh? I'm not sure what you are trying to say but I'm pretty sure it's not positive, which is ok in itself too. I was just hoping that if it was negative you could give some reasons or suggestions that would be helpful. Thanks
I was making a joke but you app is pretty cool!

Do you have a long drive? Long boring class or meeting? Just want some entertainment? Keep Me Alert app helps keep you stay focused, entertained, and warns you if you are losing alertness! Keep me alert features three different modes - Interactive, Non-Interactive, and Silent Mode.
In interactive mode you randomly get asked questions and have to respond back in order to prove you are alert! After each question a special algorithm determines your alertness level and warns you if your alertness level is low. Even if you don't need help staying alert it's entertaining just to hear the app ask you questions and respond to you
In Non-Interactive mode one of several alarms randomly sounds to to help boost your alertness level if it diminishing. In silent mode the app randomly vibrates to help boost your alertness level if it is diminishing. This mode is great for situations where you don't want to disturb others!
V1.4
Huge number of changes, it's like a whole new app
New interactive mode asks questions and expects a response. If you don't respond she will let you have it!
Expiration time out increased to 40 minutes.
Drumroll sound effect alarm added.
Several tweaks to silent mode to make it more effective.
Numerous enhancments to the user interface
Numerous bug fixes
Looks like a pretty great idea for an app. But... I launched the app and immediatly clicked the big "alarm off" button. This causes a force close every time.
Otherwise thanks for making this.

I found this app on android market and i have tried it. This is a great app and it does what it says!
It warns in case of an incoming collision. It also shows the distance of the car in front of you.
And it can takes snapshots at a touch of your finger.
But one other great feature is that it tells you where you have parked using google maps and by taking a photo of what the camera last saw.
Im am not the developer of this app and i am not promoting. This is a free app that i thought it is cool to share.
Cheers.

yes looks useful especially if you are on the road for many hours. and it also has the ability to start user appointed apps.
Ads in the Notification Area.
Dont update to the newest Version. (around 9. Mai 2012)
You will receive at random times push Ads in the Notification Area without accutaly having started the app. There is absolutly no hint to which programm is responsible for them until you uninstall iOnRoad and they stop. Very annoying and the reason for its recent negativ rating. I hope they are scrambling to fix this and might have fixed it already but I would just stay away from this app. The reason for my disgust ist that the developer does not seem to find it important to inform customers about his error or has done it on purpose. Either way is the wrong way.
Here is the mail I got back from iOnRoad Support Team. Thats what got me mad but to be fair my support request was not very diplomatic. For that it was probably acctualy a preaty calm answear.
Hi,
If you do not wish to get the ads you can upgrade to the pro
version here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.picitup.iOnRoad.pro
Or
disable them in the "About iOnRoad" section in iOnRoad's settings.
Best regards,
The iOnRoad Team

I wish they would make the Rating system more precise. There are a bunch of factors that could help in making decisions.
Overral App Rating
Overral Rating of the Developer
Version Rating
Another thing I would not mind seeing as a Customer is a precise reason why a App needs certain Access Rights. That would maybe stop Wallpaper Programms to request about every access right there is for every other reason then the app was acctualy intended for.
i guess you are right, but if you actually disable ads from settings do they appear again? i can not test. i have moved away from android until Galaxy S3
a cool application, since i cant drive.. and slow connection to connect to gps too, maybe i use it later..

Well I am not sure the developer even understands what Ads we are all talking about. He either does not give a .... or he thinks everything is normal and we are talking about the normal Ads in the Programm. Either way over the past 2 days he earned himself over 100 1 Star Ratings for the App. It would probably be higher if People would even know that the Ads are comming from the iOnRoad App. If I would be him I would pull the Mai 9th Version off the Market and revert back to the last version that worked.
at the Argentina developers I saw the appendix which allows to glance for an obstacle... by means of the camera and, wireless connection.
