Lets get evild a g2x!

I'm sure many of you are firmilar with evild's work on the n1, mt4g and other highend devices. I happened to flash his 3.0 rom on my wifes mt4g sand got to chatting with him. Hes interested in getting a g2x, so I told him id attempt to orchestrate a collection of funds to buy him a g2x. First things first, what will a no contract g2x cost? What is the cheapest anyone has seen one for sale off contract? Secondly, if anyone has an upgrade they are willing to donate, THAT WOULD BE PHENOMENAL! I'm good for $100 to start things off. If you find one off contract for cheap, please post links! Moderators, please feel free to get involved.

That is why I hate xda bunch of free loading crack flashers that don't help the Dev. community just piss people off and whine for help when they get in trouble....... count me in for 20 bucks

Does he plan on making a sense port for the G2X might wanna specify what his work will entail, I'd be very happy to donate to the cause if he could get sense to work on the device... Pretty sure it won't/can't be done. I'll stay tuned in nonetheless.

Very good question... I can only assume so, since alot of his work is done with sense ui. I sent him a pm with the link to this thread, so as he reads through it, I'm sure he'll clarify on that.

haha yea a little part of me died when the sense roms stopped for the N1

Yea, I guess I didn't miss it all that much because I went straight from the n1 to the mt4g. So I almost immediately had evil support again lol.

have you been on the internet long? people are people. and you'll find people like that on any forum. i've seen people talking like that online since before the internet was mainstream. it's not only xda. there is no way to stop it. so just get used to it. but, i got your back on voicing your opinion as well. what xda needs is a dislike button. i've seen them on other sites. and after so many dislikes,your post gets hidden and members have to click "show" to see it.

People like you thinking it's ok to use these Roms for free without donating a dime is a FAIL!
These Devs work hard and long hrs. to make these roms for your phone to function and look better!
So a little donation wouldn't hurt for you to give!
Or better yet if you don't, don't bother commenting on it!
Don't look at it as paying for there phone, but rather an advance for work they are going to do for you!

Your idea is ingenious. I will take it up with a friend whose a mod here and see what he thinks. Not sure it will get too far but you never know.

That is a very good idea. Giving thumbs down to certain posters would warn other readers at this forum. It would also be useful against scammers who steal the Dev's work and pawn the mods as their own begging for donations. There was one on the Samsung Epic forum last year and on the Asus Transformer forum a few weeks ago.

I've been on the internet for awhile... a lot of forums and yes I know there are always negative people... I can be one of them... at times... but I hate how broad the ignorance on this site is..

I'm sorry to say but the original NeverAgain was a bit misdirected. In the end, it was T-Mobile who held up the update to support sales of the Galaxy S 4G, not Samsung who had already updated their international models to 2.2.1 by December and to Gingerbread as of now. I suspect this case should be the same as it is the carriers who determine if a update will be pushed. LG only makes the updates, but it has no say in whether or not it will be pushed to the G2X.

its a shame that the us has convinced so many to just sit and take it. people have forgotten the voice of the people works. whats annoying is when some ddecide to use this you get these people saying it wont work when there are so many examples of it working in the history of the us and business.

G2x replacement with Gingerbread

Spoke to a rep about getting my G2x replaced yet again #4 as this thing is getting constant reboots *stuck to stock OS to see if it was true* he explained to me that the latest G2x's are updated with Gingerbread and the displays have been fixed and I did not even mention the display...
Tomorrow it will be here. Lets see if this guy did not pull it out of his ass and was being true.
Will keep this thread updated.

Tomorrow the update will be here? Yea. Sure. Honestly I don't have any issues with my phone but it would be nice to get an update.

That is not at all what I said. I said they are sending my replacement and it will be here tomorrow and the rep said it would have GB I didnt even request any of the info just wanted my damn replacement.

No. I only made this thread because I told them to call me for my replacement when the G2x problems have been solved.
I got a phone call they mentioned all that ****.
I dont believe them but the fact that they called me back to tell me this 2 weeks later and so i can get my replacement is pretty bad ass.
So we will see what happens when I get the new G2x

This is right, we honestly have no idea when this is coming. I check our internal information DAILY and nothing has been updated. It comes when it does, anyone who gives you a solid date is wrong as of this moment.

Well, if you do receive a G2x with the update, you can post the files for us then.

What a joke....sensation is nice but not any better. In fact doesn't it have a locked boot loader? G2x is an awesome device. You have no patience if you expect...no demand GB out of the G2x by now.

Well, we have to consider many things.
First and most importantly, Google just acquired Motorola's mobile phones division for $12.5 billion. That means that they are gonna be a major hardware manufacturer and the phones that they make will probably be able to handle Android better than the rest of the competition.
Also, don't forget that 2011 is the year of the rabbit. The rabbit is a swift little creature and it doesn't like to get caught.
If we compare cyanogemod to the rabbit, and then compare that to google's purchase of Moto's mobile division, then we can clearly see that there's no connection between any of these things.
So long story short, yes, we still don't know. We're all just sitting tight.

Very understandable. In the time I've been with this forum, I've seen a lot of that going on and it's ridiculous. Internet browsers should pop up a notice saying "Don't forget the search feature!" when somebody opens a new tab or window lol

well , there's a phone I want to buy and the seller stays at newlondon...my brother is at Stamford, but he said it would be trouble traveling that distance to and fro...

Well you will be hard pressed to fund anyone to do it in my home town. To be honest I would not do it unless you can be there to test then phone and check the IMEI. New London is not the place for blindly trusting people.

All I will say is be careful. I grew up in NL my whole life and only have been out for the last 4 years. Finding someone to do it from there to Stamford will be a long run for them.

I will ask around when I get up as it is a 4 hour diff from here and most of the people I knew have moved.
Even odder is you trying to find help getting a blackberry in an android forum or on XDA at all as we don't support BB lol

a decent BB...without camera also would do he barely/rarely uses the cam on his phone...
