Great price for the G2X at Costco !!!

Hey guys, the G2X is now here, and guess what - I just got mine today from Costco.
The price was $149 after $50 mail-in rebate. For an upgrade. And it came with everything that comes from t-mo, but it also came with an extra car charger, leather pouch, and a bluetooth device. It was a great surprise for me, and if you are waiting for the right moment to get the G2X - now would be a good time.
Go to your local costco and get that badboy!

Dang and i ordered it the day it came out. Why didnt i wait lol. Jk.

Went to local Costco and they don't have it in stock.... I'm interested to buy it off contract.

BTW, see your location as Atlanta. Which Costco did you go? I went to the Duluth on and they said they don't have any in stock.

The one in Alpharetta, off of exit 11 on hwy 400
They had 5 on stock, I got 2 of them. I went there in the late afternoon, and they didnt even know that they have it

If you want to get it off contract - its the same price in costco as it is in T-Mobile store. Your best bet is to go and look for it in craigslist, as they do have good deals sometimes. But if its over 500 - dont buy it, just get a new one for a few more bucks, and you will know that if something happens - you can return.

Wow, they list it as $399 retail but no option to purchase online for retail...

I knew I should of waited to go to costco.. stupid impulse buy..

I tried to get it with no contract - they asked for 599 .... so im not sure if 399 exists

Weird they told me that they didn't sell off contact when I tried to buy it from costco.

I tried this today at my Costco. No go for the full $400
They said they would not even do it prepaid or on Even More Plus (no contract plans)

I went to tmobile to buy one. They wouldnt sell one to me off conrract at all and tried to make me upgrade my plan. So i just ordered one off contract at amazon wireless for 509. If tmobile refuses to take my money i guess amazon isnt. But it kinda pissed me off rmob wouldnt sell it. Guess they really are changing into att.

You could have upgraded with a 2 year contract, then just paid the ETF and you'd still have it cheaper ~$400 ...

I called Costco yesterday and the guy said that they won't be getting the phone for a couple of weeks! I guess he doesn't know what he's talking about.
oh and btw, costco will not sell the phone off contract. your better off just getting it at tmo

Got mine yesterday at a T-Mo store.
They discounted the phone to $450 and gave me $95 in accessories for $65.
$515 plus tax.
Even More Plus, no sweat.

I am a Costco Manager so hopefully I can shed some truths.
1. Wireless advocate our subcontract company (owned by CarToys WA) is stocking the g2x. Stores should have received an initial shipment of 5 phones yesterday and another 5 today. If they claim they dont have phone, ask them to check stock. I bet its in receiving dock area.
2. The phone is available to non-contract customers for $399.99. The issue is that the employees do not get a commission for non contract sales. So many times they will refuse to sell full price for a couple weeks so they can get there spiffs. HOWEVER Costco is customers are always first. If you demand, go find an acutual Costco manager and have them assist you with Kiosk personal. That brings me to point 3.
3. Be prepared if in a state that has sales tax to pay tax on full $399.99 This is our policy unless you buy online at Costco.com. But you can use this to your advatage if buying full price and they refuse. Say well than how come upgrade customers have to pay tax on full price. Remind them you know that they are required by Costco to sell Tmobile phones at full price. No other brands in Costco Cell kiosk are sold to non contract. Only Tmobile and that is why the full tax issue. You just need to push and you can get it full price.
4. Best thing is you are protected for 90 days with your phone. You can return, exchange phone for any reason. I use my first phone as a test phone. I test the hell out of it and return for keeper phone before the 90 days is out. Plus if a better phone comes out I get that. Love the 90 days!

G2x for $149 or less as an upgrade

This forum helped me a lot answering my question so now it's time for me to contribute a little to it.
I don't know about new activations, I'm just talking about my case which is an upgrade and I've been with T-mobile for 5 years already.
My contract has ended for a while so now it's time for an upgrade and I waited for this fone as the GS2 takes too long to come out. So I did a little research online and found out that I can match the price of this phone (currently $199 after mail in rebate on Tmobile website or store) with Wirefly's price at $149 using a promotion code "courtesy" when calling them.
First, don't talk to a regular representative, they have no power to reduce the price, ask to talk to Customer Loyalty, and insist on it if they refuse to transfer u to them. Then just tell them that a friend or other people can match the price with Wirefly. In my case, they even lowered the price to $103 after taxes and shipping, no rebate watsoever. I have a 3 lines family plan with them, I don't know if it helps, but for the price, it's great compared to other people that have to buy them at $149+tax. I'm pretty sure some of u got the fone for free, I don't know how u guys did it, please tell us how.

I got it free Cuz they. Screwed me over on data for 3 months... and they sent me two broken vibrants as refurbished ones..... I was in the process of canceling when the manager came on and offered two new phones I got this one and saving my next free one for sgs2 if it comes to T-Mobile. I have two lines and only been a customer for 11 months. Just gotta know how to talk to them

Wow, that's a great deal u've got. But ur case is very special cuz they screw u up. At least u got a really good deal on the phones. I guess because I'm not born here in the USA or else I'd get a better deal than that, lol

sorry to bump this but it sort of goes along with my question
on october 27 i'll be eligible for my 22 month upgrade, but can i upgrade earlier and still get the phone for $149? when i'm logged into mytmobile account it shows that the g2x is $149 after rebates but since i'm not exactly eligible to upgrade, would i still get the rebate?
basically i can't stand my current phone anymore and i don't think i can wait a month and a half haha

Go through the checkout and see. You probably will only get a partial discount. I suggest waiting it out to see what the nexus prime is all about...

i'm going to try it, i'm just not sure if upgrading early will affect my contract price in any way. and i just looked up the nexus prime a little bit and found this "It’s said that the Nexus Prime’s screen could be as big as 4.65-inches." that is way too big for me

Ouch... Good point. I like 4" and would settle for 4.3" but no higher.
As far as upgrading early, it will just start your new 2-year contract from the date that you actually upgrade, not an extension onto the end. At least that's how my partial upgrade was a few years back. If you have 2 or more lines and can stick it out a while longer, T-Mobile's new $99/mo unlimited for 2 lines is awesome if they're still running the promotion. Unlimited calls, texts, and 2GB data for each line (throttled after 2GB). But it requires that you're not under a contract when you sign the new plan or there are some pretty hefty migration fees. Just food for thought.

Got mine at CostCo as a 2year contract upgrade for $149, then they sent me a $50 gift card, so $99 out of my pocket. Later they had it for $79 out of pocket.

i'm about to order it soon... it will be $149 with mail in rebate so i'm happy with that my g1 was more than that when i bought it haha

I was at the Costco in Texas and they had the dummy Sensation behind the counter. He said they would be carrying them but he did not know when they were going to get them in stock.

What are the benefits of getting it from Costco as opposed to $100 cheaper from http://www.letstalk.com/htc-sensation-4g-t-mobile ? I'm thinking about going to costco tomorrow but want to make sure the benefits are worth the extra $100.

I bought 2 on Saturday at the Costco in Austin, TX (north location). Pulled the trigger when they were offering the same Father's Day data deal as the Tmo stores ($10/mo off). Paid $30 more per phone than other places ($180 vs $150), but felt the 90 day return/exchange policy was worth it considering the issues some people are having.
That said, the 2 we got are working perfect.
Costco also gives you a cheap holster, car charger, and a Plantronics Explorer 200 bluetooth headset for free.

Costco gives you 90 days to return the phone. They also provide a bluetooth earpiece along with a case and a car charger. Also, I have seen them give refunds if the price drops within the first 30 days of the phone.

If you have a membership, go to Sam's club and get the phone for $155.00 out the door

The pricing as other threads have probably shown, prove that sam's club has a silly pricing point for their wireless devices. They had the phone for $144.00 and right across the street at a tmobile retail store I would have had to buy it for $294.00. So, if you have the ability to pick it up at sammy's or costco!

With contract tho right u had to upgrade???

Oh yeah. Def. with the upgrade or new line. But its still cheaper by far!

Radioshack has it for the same price.

What about if you don't have an upgrade? T-Mobile wants me to pay $499 because I upgraded 8 months ago for the Nexus S.

Without a contract extension, which you aren't eligible for, good luck finding anything below MSRP

I bought mine on ebay for 400 (380 + 20 for S&H). With Tmobile I would have had to pay around 549.99. Yeah right they were going to get that much from me. I also have my HTC G2 on ebay at the moment to help with the cost of the new phone. But this phone is definitely worth the upgrade, its so fast!

Ima just try to find one on Craigslist bc my chick is spoiled and gets what she wants yeah. I just got her sidekick 4g for her bday on 4th of July and now she wants this mytouch 4g slide bc she doesn't like Samsung and bc there's no camera flash kinda gay. She came from the old mytouch 3g slide so that's why I just figured she like the sidekick but yalls know women so yeah but let me know if u cone across ne brand new ones from cheap eBay Craigslist whatever

Costco (near me anyway) does not sell phones without a contract. They told me I couldn't even choose a T-Mobile Value plan - it's Classic or no sale.

Costco is in agreement with the carriers that it cannot undercut carriers with off contract price. Don't bother looking for that anywhere. Ever.
Craigslist, however, is another story altogether.

Not sure if anyones noticed, but its 199 on the site. I paid 250 on 1/5 for it and renewed my contract. My question is what are the chances of seeing 50$ back since ive had it for 20 days? I swore i asked the in store sales guy about this scenario and he directed me to call att for a refund. called and the guy pretty much shut me down and said no. having a manager call me back tomorrow but has anyone been in this similar situation?

I called AT&T and was told I'd have to take it to store where they promptly credited my account $50. As long as you're within their 30-day price guaranty you shouldn't have any trouble. It sounds like you're well within the period.

I also got mine from AT&T on January 5, and it was $150. The $200 it shows as now is a price increase. Maybe a regional inconsistency?
If you're within 30 days, you should be able to get a refund for the $50, but it's odd to me that you got charged $100 more than me when I got it at the same time as you.

Add me to the list of those who paid $149; also purchased on the 5th and agree, must only be certain regions.

I think the price varies as I also paid $149 a few weeks ago.

Looks like a lot of good AT&T phones are real cheap on Amazon right now. And AT&T is selling refurb Galaxy S IIs for $10.
I'm telling you, man, if you don't own a higher end smartphone these days, you're nuts. How can you not?
