[Q] droid charge activation bypass? - Verizon Droid Charge

Was looking for a way to bypass the charge activation so I can use it as a display phone at the store I work at. Tried all the usual ways, tap the 4 corners, the *#(numbers) in emergency dial, so far nothing has worked. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hit emergency dialer > *#testmode > press the home button.

Interesting, its what I've done to bypass all the ones I've opened up at work. Its the same thing as the fascinate.

Right, it seems the lte handsets try to auto activate without you doing anything, typing anything in the emergency dialer doesn't seem to work. I have also tried inserting an at&t and tmobile sim card as suggested on the android central boards which has not worked either.
Jkchad,
Has it worked for your charges also?

maybe it only works with a verizon 4g sim, except on first screen before actually activating you do the emergency dialer thing.

Its worked with and without a sim card for me. Its only from the initial start screen that the activation bypass works.

I just went into emergency dialer just like I did on the fascinate and it still works (the code of *#83786633 ) and I am in after pressing home.

what screen were you on when you did it? whenever i turn the phone on it goes into activation mode automatically and wants to restart once it fails and it just repeats when it restarts.

Try to cancel activation and it should give you the ability to do the emergency dial.

I must be doing something wrong. Cant get it to bypass.
When I enter the string in emergency dialer, hit home, nothing.
If I hit the call button, it says *#83786633 is not an emergency number.

Same here, not sure what I'm doing different, I do have a non-active 4g sim card inserted if that makes a difference.

try pulling the battery and then right at the language selection press emergency and it should work from there

*#testmode worked for me, you have to take the sim card out and its going to take you to the setup wizard, from there you will see at the bottom left the emergecny button, type in the *#testmode and it will say softkeys activated, and press the HOME key and you should be golden
thanks guys!

Remove full battery notification?

Is there a way this can be done. I cant stand the notification popping up all the time and waking me up at night. I dont really want to turn my volume down I just want it not to notify me when the battery is fully charged.
I'm pretty sure most custom roms have already done this

yes I know but I was curious if I can modify the apk or replace it or something on my own and do it?
I'm pretty sure(but don't quote me on this) you can't disable it without rooting & flashing a ROM(i.e. Gummycharged). Hope I'm wrong but I've been hearing people complain about not being able to remove it just like bloatware(also solved by ROMs).
I have the leaked GB ROM and I have this stupid thing I can not find how to get rid of it.
There is a program that is freezable in titanium called Fullbatpopupapp, but I don't know the ramifications of freezing it. (need my phone for work so I don't f&ck with it much lol)

I know, but I am running ee4 debloated and I love it. The only thing I hate about it IS.....the full battery sound!
I use my phone for a pager also where work has to page me. So turning down the notifications while I sleep is not an option. So an hour after I am asleep my phone goes off as if I am getting a SWAT call-out and it just telling me I have a full battery. Hopefully there is a simple fix.
And since the DEVS can do it, it is possible. Just need them to see my cry for help and show me the way!
please someone has to know how to do this????
I would also like a solution to this that doesn't involve flashing an already-modified rom. I am also running ee4 debloated and it suits my fancies perfectly. All I need is to remove that battery charged notification.

Go to Dialer and enter *#83786633, then press the home key
Go back into the Dialer, clear those numbers, then *#22745927
Now a screen will appear asking for the SPC Code, enter 000000
Press the Hiddenmenu Enable radio button, then press home button
Go back into the dialer and enter *#3844228#. It allows you to disable it.
You can also use this option to disable the lock screen (and power down pop up), go back into the Dialer and use the code *#7594#, select Shutdown and press the Home button. This, I have confirmed, does work on the Charge.
I can't post the url, but this does work. Credit to cwalter9 on androidcentral.

The lock screen part is, I don't disable the lock screen, just included it since it uses the same information. Mostly posted for the full battery question.
I had it removed on my fascinate. There is a zip file for the fascinate to do it. Maybe someone can port it over. The fascinate isn't far from this phone

What do you do after you put the last code in (*#3844228#)? Do you hit the home button again or dial or nothing?

[Q] Wake with Menu, home, back, or search buttons

So I have the Androidified tpu case which makes the power button kinda hard to press. Also I use NOLED which wont wake with the power button when there is a notification. For these reasons it would be nice to wake the phone with the front face buttons, as long as they dont accidentally get pressed in my pocket
So I was wondering if i could modifiy
system/usr/keylayout/s3c-keypad.kl
and add a few WAKE_DROPPED where wanted and get the desired effect???
Let me know if you've done this already or you know it works. Ive seen similar things done with other phones. If not Ill just try it myself once i get a chance to make an odin backup of my phone.
I've actually found a way to do it. Instead of using the home button tho, all physical buttons work. Its a hack to remove the lockscreen. I actually replaced my lockscreen with Ripple Lock from the market with this. Give a nice Honeycomb style lockscreen with great options. Here's what I did...
Go to the dialer and enter #83786633, then press home.
Go back into the dialer, clear the numbers and enter *#22745927 and enter the SPC code 000000.
Hit the "HiddenMenu Enable Radio" button. Press home.
Go back to the dialer, enter *#7594# and hit the "Shutdown" button, then home.
The lockscreen is now GONE. I have never reversed it to get the lockscreen back tho, I hate the AOSP lockscreen, and Puzzle lockscreens. The Ripple Lock app from the market is very smooth, fluid and has totally replaced them annoying lockscreens. Best of all, any physical button now wakes up my phone I don't have any accidental presses either. Everything is great. Hope this helps!!!!!

interesting...I saw a few other apps that would modify buttons/screens. My only concern is bloating up my rom...would love to do within the system. Also whenever I call numbers and press in codes I feel like I might be giving away my life savings to an anonymous bank account in the Caribbean lol
Tried changing the .kl file. Specifically the home button. Doesnt seem to work. Let me know if anyone figures this out

Have you rebooted your phone since the change? I did this mod. and it worked fine until I rebooted. After a reboot the lock screen fix was still working, but the physical buttons no longer woke up the phone. Others have reported the same issue.
Yes, actually I always turn my phone off at nite, and when I turn it back on, my physical keys work fine to wake up the phone. Haven't had a single problem since. I would rather do it this way instead of going ib the system and screwing something up. Not that good at stuff like that lol.

Huh... LUCKY! I'll have to try it again. Maybe I have an app. that's conflicting with my hard buttons.
The "Shutdown" button comes right after u enter *#7594#. Click it when it pops up. Its an onscreen button. Not the physical bottom on the phone.

[Q] freeze stock lockscreen???

I want to know which is the name of the apk for the stock lockscreen. I'm trying to keep widget locker as my lockscreen but that annoying stock lockscreen pops before widget locker and it's very annoying.
You can't. Lockscreens aren't standalone apps. They are part of the framework, which is why you'll sometimes get double locks when using a third party lockscreen app.
I use dialer codes to remove lock screens altogether. I haven't tried a 3rd party after that though, so it's worth a shot

Below is the text I copied from another forum. I've tried this on several ROMs with success. NOTE that this will disable your long-press power menu options. Holding the power button now will power off your phone.
This is not a problem for me, except every now and then I accidentally shut the phone off.

There is also the option to disable the full battery pop up, but I'm not sure if it actually works or not (I'll be able to find out later tonight). *#3844228#. It allows you to disable it, but the option never actually worked on my Fascinate, so I don't know if it will work on the Charge. "

requesting a messaging app shortcut

I was wondering if someone can come up with a patch/or code change where when in the text messaging app while viewing someones text, but then hitting the home button takes you back to the main screen but when you re enter your messaging app it doesnt go back to that persons text instead goes back to the main messaging screen. i hate having to hit the back button repeatedly. i will donate 10 dollars for this hack. please someone figure this out for me. all 3rd party apps seem to do this but they are not stable. please help
All you have to do is hut the back once then just press the home button? I mean not that hard I do it all the time

N5 phone dialer Q

hey guys,
I wanted to find out if anyone else is having this issue - when i go into the phone app, and press the keypad button on the bottom. the onscreen keypad doesnt show up - i have to press back and then press keypad button a 2nd time for it to show. But once i do this - it works fine if i go back into it at a later time. I have attached a pic of what the phone looks like when i press the keypad for the first time.

Not sure if this only happens when you restart or load the phone app for the first time.
Any ideas or input will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

I had this problem also when I was using Cyanogenmod. To solve this problem, try to disable Developer Mode as test.
I think the problem is caused by Scale Animation option when it is set by 0.
Hi mate thank you for your help. I switched all animation scale to .5 and turned off developers options. This seems to have fixed it
