I currently have a US wifi only xoom, rooted and running tiamat v1.3.0 and clockwork recovery. I wanna update to honeycomb 3.1 manually, but do I need to go to the newest version of tiamat b4 I do the HC3.1 update? Or does it really matter if I don't?

No need to update anything if you're already rooted. Just follow BRD's guide and you'll be good to go.

I just updated to rooted wifi xoom to HC3.1. No issues everything went smoothly. But now i cant overclock to 1.5ghz like i could b4 3.1. Is this something that can be fixxed when new kernels come out? or did we lose this when we update?

They are in the process of making a new kernel just have to give them time.
You did remember that you had to root and install a new kernel before you could overclock right? You may have rooted 3.1 but you have not installed a new kernel yet since there isn't one.
Yea I remember. Sorry I'm still new to the whole rooting process, been an android supporter since the beginning, G1 still on of my favorite phones lol. but I'm learning and trying to stay up to date and in the know about my device. Thanks for your help

Hey Folks,
I'm pretty new to this Rooting and Roming of Android devices so please bare with me if this sounds like a stupid question.
Last weekend I roots my nexus s i9023, installed ClockworkMod 3.x and Axura NSE Rom ( Gingerbread 2.3.3 ) with netarchy 1.2.5cfs Kernel. Everything went perfectly but now I'm being badgered by the Auto Update to in OTA update 2.3.4. The Nexus S is on Vodafone NL.
My question being a nooby is can I go ahead and let the OTA update install on reboot ( will it have any effect on my rooted device, recovery image or custom rom? ) ?
If not, how do I get to 2.3.4? Do I wait for Axura 2.3.4 update? Or is there a way to disable Auto Update from bugging me every couple of hours.
Any help would be great,
Neil
I don't think you will have able to update to 2.3.4 its because you flashed clockwork an you have a custom rom. I suggest trying out another rom that has a 2.3.4 Core. Also axura nse is no longer supported by master so you might not see an update on it.

You will lose root and recovery if you install the OTA. Not hard to root again, but just install a custom 2.3.4 rom

HELLLLLLP!!!!! i install the rom from
[ROM/UPDATE] Android Honeycomb 3.2.2 - Stock & Rooted
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242524
after install this rom but the wifi not work!!!?
If you are useing a wifi only xoom 3.2.2 will not work.. or at least it did not for me... and when I unrooted my xoom to send it to moto it only updated to 3.2.1. So I am assumeing the wifi only xooms do not have a stable 3.2.2 build. Flash a 3.2.1 Roman or something other then stock and it will work fine.

thanks NissanNick , i alrealy flash back to 3.01 and update to 3.2 now. i am looking how to block the 3.21 update now.
I bought this g2x and it came with cryogen installed. I just want stock Gingerbread installed so I used what I thought was a stock OS. It says I'm using 2.2.2, and I have a horrible issue with my wifi. What's the current version available?

Current stock version is 2.3.3
CM never had a 2.2.2... sounds like the original stock Froyo rom.
Easy enough to fix. NVFlash using the easy nvflasher app available in the development section and download your favorite rom. CM has a stable CM7.1.0.1 available. I use MIUI w/ fauxs 4.3 Kernel.
Weapon makes a nice stock-like solid build.

cryogen Cyanogen will cry reading this.
How did it come with Cyanogen? Did you buy it from friend or ebay?
If you are back on stock 2.2.2 and you have the baseband dated March, you can use the LG Updater to update to GB and get the new baseband. It is the new baseband that will fix your wifi issues. You can download the LG Updater from the link below. Make sure you read the posts on this forum regarding the updater. If you don't do it right you can mess up your phone; but if you follow the instructions exactly, turn off firewall and anti-virus, unplug other usb devices, etc. you should be fine. Install the USB drivers from the Updater program to make sure you have the latest USB drivers.

Good luck and enjoy!
In store they are doing upgrades on the mezmerize to 2.3.5...waiting to get mine done...

yep, got mine updated the other day! 2.3.5 is nice and im rooted
Was gb (2.3.4) already rooted before the update? Did you lose anything?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda premium
when i upgraded to 2.3.5 from 2.3.4 i was rooted and lost the root and apps. but you can get it back the same way you root 2.3.4.
then the device was having problems so i called the tech support and the guy there (Alan) told me that the up date was made for a tablet. so i re-installed the 2.3.4, rooted and went custom.
You don't have to go to a store to get 2.3.5. Go to rootzwiki and flash it yourself...
ICS
Id recommend running Ice Cream Sandwich, Screw 2.3.5.
Follow the directions on a rootzwiki page, and you can easily get it.
The rom runs pretty smooth and is far better than gb.
Just remember to flash rom, flash gabbs in cwm, then gabbs fixer in cwm, then gps fixer.
Id recommend installing icy glitch to help your in-call volume settings as well.
