Hey, when im playing MC 2 on my Desire S i can play about 5 mins and after that the WiFi drops and i get disconnected. I'll need to wait 2-4 min for the WiFi to reconnect. or turn it of and on. any way to fix so i don't get disconnected?
BTW got a Cisco's linksys E3000 router.
Thanks!
i heard the desire s has a wifi problem.
if you're covering the top area of the phone, around the camera (antenna), then the wifi signal will drop significantly.
this is a software bug & there is a fix available for it
but the fix requires root which is sadly not attainable on s-on devices without a XTC clip
Aff mabey I should by a clip from eBay. Or from there page

Hi
I got a HTC Sensation and when it connect to my Trendnet TEW-633GR wireless router then after some time i lose my internet connection on the phone and on all wireless equipment in my house.
It look like all equipment have got wireless connection, but i cant even open the web configurationpage of the router.
I then get my internetconnection and access to the web configurationpage of the router when i disable the wireless connection on the phone, and restarts the wireless router.
Anybody got an idea about what is going on.
Kind regards
Henrik
Ok,that is just ridiculous. Sounds made up.

Now that I saw that thread.... I think I have the same problem. Keyword: think. My Sensation just don't want to work with my home network... I can connect but I can't keep signal for nothing and everything opens up so slow when it actually manages to hang on to connection. Furthermore, ever since I got the Sensation, my network has been going down at least once a day.... Coincidence?
I haven't accessed my network from my phone yet, but I have the same problem when I connect with my nookcolor flashed with CM7. Thought it was a fluke, but it happens every time I connect. All my devices lose connectivity and I have to unplug and re-plug in my router for Internet to come back up. I also have a trendnet and have never had problems until this.

I have a reccomendation for anyone who has a ****ty WiFi signal on any of there devices. Go buy the new D-Link HD router. I buy a new router every 6 months for the past 6 years and this router has torched everything I've ever owned. I live in a 3 story house and get full bars on any device I'm connected with. It uses beams instead of antennas but the only downside is it can only connect to 6 devices at the same time. A beam locks on to the device and fallows it all through out the house. I walked down the block and across the street to a neighbors house and my Sensation still had 2 bars. My prior router (Linksys E3000) would crap out once I got to my driveway.

Yesterday I bought a Linksys WAP610N Access Point and after replacing the trendnet with the AP, I got no more problems.

a few minutes after phone connected to the wireless network, all traffic on the wireless network died, on all component connect to the wireless network, such as pc, notebook, tablet and printer.
removing phone from the wireless network, and rebooting the wireless router got the connection back on the pc, notebook, tablet and printer.
On a sidenote my wifes SE x10 mini did reboot after some when trying to connect to the same wireless router. But that problem disappead when after som time SE came with an update to the phone.

Anyone else have an issue with a weak wifi signal? i have to be in the same room for it to connect. I can be anywhere in the house with my laptop and tabet.
Same for mine. My Infuse is about a week old to me and is unrooted and stock. The WiFi is very week and won't connect 30 feet away from the router. All of my other phones show weakness, but they will connect.
What kind of router do u have?

I have issues with some routers but not others...my cheap belkin works better than the linksys someone gave me
Have you downloaded wifi analyzer?

I have a linksys
mine does it too. i could be right next to my iPhone that is connected to the same thing and it'll have full coverage but the infuse has nothing.
I got the phone last week and notice the same thing. I also noticed it has the iPhone deathgrip issue on wifi. I can cover the back up with my hand and watch it drop a bar on wifi. Give it some breathing room and bar comes back. My biggest gripe is it sometimes doesn't want to get back on wifi if you get out of range.
Ni WiFi issue here, I have Buffalo and DLink routers, I get strong and consistent signal with both. I have my router in 2.4Ghz 802.11N (no GN or BGN)
Ugh thank gawd I haven't noticed those issues yet, other then last week it wouldn't connect at all was just stuck on obtaining connection so I just rebooted the phone and it connected fine, from outside in the middle of the street to test it.
The wifi on the Atrix though is a beast because when I went to Chumash Casino and Resort we had to rely on wifi (it's in the hills and no network at all) and the Atrix connected 8/10 tries vs my Infuse 3/10 to the casino sh*tty free wifi... And the Atrix picked up other Wifi spots (adhoc) etc... sigh only thing that blows about the Infuse!
Yup my infuse hates wifi, wish it wasn't true but it is
.......infuse.....Infused....infusion.........
Another user posted this link. I think it could possibly explain some of the issues I've been having. I have issues at work especially where we have multiple access points. If I forget the network and reconnect it links right up. The good news is I don't really see a reduction or improvement in browsing with a dot or full bar. At least not the feel, I haven't measured with a tool.

Bugs in the software and firmware, what could go wrong?
i noticed a big drop in wi-fi strength after changing my rom from stock to infused 2.1
I am just coming from the G2X to a T-Mobile branded HTC Sensation.
I don't know if this is a known issue or perhaps and issue with my rom (Revolution HD 3.3, stock kernel, dual-core patch .03) but my Wi-fi signal will drastically fluctuate without me even moving the phone. I know about the "death grip" and I know its not that as it happens when I am not even touching my phone. I kept the screen on and plugged in for a couple hours yesterday at work just watching the Wi-Fi signal swing wildly, from 3 full bars of Wi-Fi down to zero getting disconnected from it momentarily. I had a TPU case on it yesterday and I've taken it off today to see if that has anything to do with it.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced this.
EDIT: My G2X never had a problem with Wi-Fi. Also this happens at home and at work. That's really the only two places I connect to Wi-Fi.
OK it might have been my tpu case.

I get this unable to scan for network problem all the time. but at times when i let my phone run for about 1-2 hours still it works perfectly fine with full signal. whats wrong with my phone? it seems therse a warm up time for my wifi?
does anyone know which pins at the back of the phone is this for wifi connections?
thank you.
I think the top one above the cam us wifi below that is bluetooth, the bottom is mobile network and I think the left one is 4g but some people have said its also mobile network for non 4g devices

Thanks. this helped me toggle down varience of problems and solve my issue.
Method of checking: with the case off+ phone on, put only the front part of the phone in the case and press the area were the pins are and test wifi.
This helped me figure out it was a case problem. I put a piece of aluminum to increase the conductivity with the pins.... ****ing htc
thanks so much
Just got my hands on a HTC ChaCha, and the WiFi range seems to be ridiculously appauling. Being 1 meter away from the router gives me 1 bar, maybe 2 if I'm lucky, and then being about 4 meters or more away from the router, it doesn't even see the SSID and won't connect. I have updated to the 2.3.5 via OTA so I'm wondering if it's a ChaCha issue or just my handset? Thanks.
Just your handset buddy I can make it within 20 meter may be more I am not accurate

Took the antenna off the top and pulled the wifi contacts out a bit, added an extra 5 meters to the signal, still not brilliant but good enough for me when the routers in the same room, still not sure what the exact issue is.
