I couldn't find one in upgrades, but I thought I read you could convert Vibrant ROMs to this?
Anyone know of a CM7 ROM for this device?
No cm7 as of yet.

When in doubt:
http://www.cyanogenmod.com/devices
Well even an unofficial port would be nice, I mean the HD2 isn't listed there but we have fully functional CM7 roms for that device.
I also don't see any SGS device listed but can't we convert this ROM to the SGS4G?

Krylon is working on it... last I heard he was a one man team for it though, so it may be awhile yet since I know he is working on multiple other projects as well

Thanks for the heads up. Is he working on porting an already existing vibrant ROM or cooking one from scratch?
Lol. Making a joke. No idea when it will be released, but with all of the new roms that were just released, I'm sure everyone will keep busy with those.

I'll take a look, I don't own this phone but a friend has it running stock and told me he wanted a new phone and that this one was a POS, I told him the hardware is great but Samsung'd coding is just amazingly terrible, so I've been looking for a good ROM to flash for him, but since I don't have the phone was going to just rock CM7 since you can't go wrong.
Any suggestions on a stable/fast ROM? It will be hard to test these for daily use since I don't own the device.

I am running bioinix frost and I love it as my main rom. I have no complaints about it. Icbinb was just released and that includes pretty much every mod and tweak for the phone. It is very smooth. I would recommend those two for now.

To save yourself the hassle of looking all over this forum for tweaks and stuff, you should probably just stick to ICBINB.7.
Bionix Frost would require you to look for all those tweaks!
Both are just as good though, imo.

That's what I'll do then, I just downloaded the zip file from that thread.
You guys use one click root on this thing or is there an easy root method?
One click root is what I used. Bkoon has a great point. I an one of those that like to mess with the tweaks, so frost is for me. Icinb had everything included already.
Check the bible for ask of the files you need

Well Krylon is a busy man, he's got enough on his mind as it is and since I don't wanna be pestering him about when he'll release what he's working on for FREE, I just decided to follow his twitter:

installed PB and dont see a difference...
can someone enlighten me.
thank you in advance.
Pb is built off of EB and has interface tweaks and little things here and there that may or may not be a speed boost... things of that nature read their changelogs.

Pretty much.
PB has been getting updated quite a lot lately, it is IMHO the best rom for g2x. EB did just get updated by doniqqc tho, there both awesome devs and each rom is unique in their own way.

PB is not based off of EB. Go read the thread. PB is built of CM7 Source.

ya you're right, so is EB though lol... either way they are very similar one has more updates and tweaks to it. The only thing I noticed any difference in was the theme PB was has read in things in little places. EB is plain.
Ok first off im on valhalla final.with lightning zap.....all bloat removed and voodoo lagfix is enabled.

It's called tegrak overclock. It's a paid app in the market and it doesn't require for the kernel to be "overclockable."

Do not mean to be disrespectful its a great rom and I have been using it for many months... I'm just asking if there are any stable roms like Valhalla final but ICS and not gingerbread.
if its not too hard please post ur recommendations and explain what's good about that rom.
Thanx a bunch.

I would recommend trying them out start with cm9 for a few days. I love aokp personally with hefe kernel, there are so many little options to make the phone feel like it's yours. They all have little twists to them and the older more updated ones are more stable. If you haven't felt ics yet your in for a treat.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
I like barebones, its completely debloated and has the look and feel of stock gingerbread
I've tried all the other roms and yes with cm9 comes alot of customizations and neat tweaks.....but also they come with alot of bugs.
I miss the fun stuff but love everything working and love the touch wiz.

I like bare bones better than vallahna

Nothing ICS that is as bug free as Valhalla final or black edition. The ICS roms are definitely all good enough for daily drivers, but the battery life is inconsistent to say the least and your going to have issues with voodoo sound still being partiality busted if that matters to you. I flash the new CM9 builds and ROM's based off of them when they come out to look for bugs and generally see first hand how the development is progressing but still using Valhalla black as a daily driver for the reasons I mentioned previously
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Since you are in GB and Valhalla is a stock-ish ROM, then I suggest Barebone or if you want some more theme and custonization then go for Valhalla Black either Raver or FB with Anton's Basic with a Twist kernel.
My pick is FB's Valhalla Black, but Barebone is awesome too. I'm just not a fan of stock.
ICS ROMs are all good. I use CM9 and AOKP, they all have bugs and some issues. Development is still ongoing. Yet, once you try it, it would be hard going back to a GB ROM.
the best rom is the one you feel is the best.. Seriously. Its not a omg this is the best rom ever made we all do different things different flavors .

This is BEST Answer. I know BUT I want to know another PROFESSIONAL OPINION as a beginer.
Some of the people that have responded are the developers, and all of the people have tried many (if not all) of the ROMs. In my humble opinion, that is as "professional" as it gets. The best advice here is to try them out and see which, if any, you personally feel drawn towards. You can always go back to the one you like best. Being a beginner can be scary, but read, read, read before you do anything, make backups, and follow the directions. It is very easy once you get into it.
Good luck! Oh, I like the AOKP best, so far, but I haven't tried Raver's ICS ROM yet. That's next on my list.

basically, raver is saying that everyone has their own opinion on what is the best rom. each person wants different things. you can't just ask people which is better. you just have to try out each and decide for yourself. so in other words, don't be lazy by asking people, check em out yourself.

no each rom is diffrent and unique and bring diffrent things to the table.. TO just say oh one rom is better then any other is like slapping every other dev in the face.

"No" was simply the answer to the ops question. Unless he enjoys random reboots, sub-par battery life and lack of functionality then he should wait for a "final" ICS rom. Last time I checked there wasn't one.
