So I have a question. Is there anyone having troubles with their speakers or is it just me? I can't figure out if one of my speakers is out or not. I just got a replacement phone today and yeah not sure what's going on with it. I never had a problem with my first G2X's speakers I'm not even sure if I had ever noticed that one wasn't working

There is only one speaker on the G2X - the grill under the search capacitive button. The other grill is for the microphone I believe.
Thank you to the info.

I believe he meant why do you say its blown. Weird is a completely non-descriptive term. If you provide a better description it would be much easier to help you. Also, I'm not aware of spare speakers for the SNS.

Normal. Blown would be heavily distorted sound from all volumes. The crackles are normal> If you aren't happy with that, go do a swap. Or get a whole new phone together... Seriously, if I continue to have problems, I'm gonna drop it completely and go back to BlackBerry.
I. May wait till another android phone attracts me thence ill swap

I think mine just blown today.
My text rings started crackling.
Then all my sounds would stop, then little keyboard ticks would be fine, shutoff sound fine. then again rings crack etc.
Well I go play music and it's crackling like crazy, then goes on/off.
I BLOW into the speaker while music is playing and it "works" better.
Anyways now, it's really dead unless i use an air can to blow on the speaker and it'll make sound.
Blown.
Guess I'll make a claim for my SquareTrade warranty
I bought an in-ear headphones. But sometimes phone thinks that these headphones are with mic. And the most annoying thing is when phone starts to call last number.
What should I do now? Is it normal? Anyone else had this before?
I have coredroid rom.

Yeah I've had this before as well, I tend to just pull it back out and plug it back in but not like all the way in and it's fine. Seems like a strange little bug.

I'm doing just like you. As its not only for me I will cut wires from headphones and solder in-ear headphones with original ones, and I will have my comfortable headphones and music control.

Too late, I already modified my headphones, and guess what! Now output power is so powerful that with volume at half is loud enough to me.

Nice one, maybe I should consider soldering
Ok, my Samsung Captivate stopped ringing when someone is trying to call me. And I can't hear anything when I put it on 'speaker phone'.
It looks like the speaker phone (in the back is dead)? Yes, I've checked many times to make sure the call volume is on at the highest setting.
And I can no longer hear any sound when playing game or listening to music/video.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks

Lots of people have had success with just pushing the speaker down with their thumb, but I had to take the phone apart and mess with a connection for a permanent fix. Search this site for speaker fixes.
Thanks guys. I push the speaker down a few times and it seems to work now.

The loudspeaker in my phone (mytouch 4G slide) stopped working. Therefore the ringer doesn't work. Also I cannot listen to music or videos. Sound works fine through a headset though so I think it just the speaker that went bad or a loose connection. Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement speaker? Has anyone had a similar problem and got it fixed?
speaker is like 5$ on ebay and a quick replacement

I tried look it up on ebay but could not find a replacement speaker for the mytouch 4G slide. Do you know if there is a generic speaker I could use? Can you suggest what I should search for (part number, etc)? Any help is really appreciated.
yeah I just did a quick search and didn't see any right now either, I'm sure you could google it though. it is a strange design, held in with adhesive, you could open it up and just make sure it is making good contact. I don't know of a universal option as it is weird, but anything is possible

I'll keep looking. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hello,
same happened to me.
Finally I found out that the speaker is the same as many other HTC's, e.g. HTC Sensation.
Just search for "HTC Sensation speaker", or one of their spare parts: "EAS1S181E".
This is how it should look like.
Regards
Just be very careful when you solder in the new speaker. The proximity and light sensors are right next to one of the speaker pads and you can easily ruin one or both with an errant touch of the soldering iron.
Don't ask how I know....
The image I've posted is about the loudspeaker, it isn't necessary to solder anything, speaker isn't soldered, and is at the bottom of the phone. In fact, he only needs to remote the 2 bottom screws, not all.
This is the video I followed to replace my loudspeaker:

It's very easy
Just curious as to how many speakers are on the bottom of the N5. I see two speaker spots. But sound only comes from the one on the left (with phone screen facing me) . Is this the same for everyone?

The forum does have a search function...
As stated several times: one is a speaker, one is the microphone.

The left one's the speaker. The other one is the mic! The device has a single speaker :silly:
Such a big mic grill. Lol. Thought it was a speaker.

... and people still complain that they have low quality with the mic :cyclops: JK! (Nothing to do with the holes)
I think the mic grill is made that way to even out the design. Having different sized grills one beside the other would have looked ugly IMHO.
I agree. Glad that they didn't do that. Would have been better with a pin hole mic and a second speaker behind that grill. Lol
