Hello all,
I have searched the forums quite extensively regarding unrooting the G2x for warranty purposes. I used SuperOneClick to root my phone last week before my phone began to experience reboot issues. I do not have any custom ROMs or anything of the sort on the phone, just the basic root. I used SOC to unroot the phone but I was wondering if there was any further procedures needed to have my phone acceptable for replacement warranty. Should I do a basic factory reset?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
If all you did was root the phone, then unroot and factory reset will be all u should do.

Just out of curiousity, i used superoneclick and see that you can also unroot your phone. I've also heard that rooting your phone nulls your warrenty. So im just curious, does unrooting a phone get your warranty back?

Sort of. In theory no, once you root it's gone forever, but in practice once un-rooted T-Mobile or LG has absolutely no way to know that you ever had it rooted, so for all intents and purposes it does.
Greetings all
This is my first post here, and I have done the required searches (to the best of my ability lol)...
I desperately want to root and flash my i9000M, but just as I was doing my last bit of research, I came across the words "operator locked," and this worried me I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, and my SIM is locked to SaskTel.
Will this affect how I root the phone, or if I am able to root it at all? (Root-wise, I've found great tuts...I have upgraded to GB from Froyo, so I'm going to do a factory reset before anything, so I won't need any help with that [yet lol])
Thank you so much for your help!!!
First of all I realise there are probably a lot of topics about this, but search is temporarily unavailable apparently. My question is, how does unrooting work after you root your phone? Can you get your warranty back if, for example you just factory reset it from settings or do you need to unroot it via a program or adb, or is it even possible to restore the warranty as if it was unchanged?
Thanks.
You can always restore warrenty if only ROOT
Thanks for the answer, that's good to know.
Edit: What is the best method for the XL?
Hi all, i have 8 days till my warranty expires, but before i return it beacuse bluetooth problems i must factory reset it.
I rooted my device almost 2 years ago i dont remember with what procedure but i remember i used Voodoo OTA root keeper to keep my root for updates until i am now on 4.2.1.WW
So i need help with full factory reset so there is no evidence of rooting, i didnt unlocked bootloader so i know that is possible.
thx in advance

Shouldn't a factory reset from the device menu be sufficient? Just make sure to disable Voodoo. You could also reflash the Stock ROM using the built in recovery (without unlocked bootloader)
I have been dying to get into rooting for a while now, and I figured that the low-cost ZTE Blade 10 prime would be a great first device to root. It seems I was mistaken as I have been unable to find a guide for my device. I am also a complete noob, so maybe I have been missing something? I also need to be sure that I can return my phone to its pre-rooted state as it is my daily carry and I cannot afford to have it bricked.
I realize rooting is inherently dangerous to the device, but is there a safe way I can root the device and have the ability to recover it if I screw up?
All advice is greatly appreciated.

Well unfortunately you'll have to take the risk to screw up your device if you wanna root.
And I'm not sure if you'll be able to unroot properly after you rooted.
But hey, you're free to give it a try: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/zte-blade-10-prime-root-t4092479/
i know its old but you can unlock the bootloader and root with magisk via rom2box.
