What do you mean by saying menus are different?

They say that the update does not pass through the / about Phone list !

I'm also on 1.28.401.1 here in CZ, no updates available... But so far I found nothing bothering on that device, I love it Can't wait for SW root, I want to modify my framework

Yes - it defenetivly supports full arabic (keyboard & everything)
My phone was that arabic today that I had to do a full new install - hard to write with arabic keys
It came with the "normal" update.zip (new hboot-, new radio and some new /system)
Even now with german ROM I have a english-arabic dictionary (which I do not need nor installed)

Have you upgraded by :-
( Setting / about Phone / software updates / Check Now )
Or how you do a full new install ?

I had some trouble with the ota because I had another recovery - and so update messes system - so I had to reinstall and after that I did a normal ota update.

I think the OTA update is Region Specific and not worldwide

The Arabic keyboard is a big fail :\ it eats a lot of ram specially when u enable auto complete and suggestions.. anyone wants to use the Arabic keyboard it's better to turn of auto complete and suggestions

If you've got an European Trophy u could flash it with the latest HTC Shipped Mango ROM.
RUU_Spark_S_HTC_Europe_5.10.401.06_5.69.09_RELEASE
That's the HTC Trophy one with internet sharing, flashed it a while ago myself, works great.
Will it also include Danish UI ?
Wishing for this for a Verizon wireless HTC Trophy but, no luck

Not this ROM, but I think there are other ways to add Danish, not sure how though, check out the Development and Hacking section.

Indeed, I guess u can always flash it with the new DFT Freedom ROM V2 when it comes out, should have internet sharing.
I wonder if flashing a ROM with the RRU will wipe out my device (e.g. remove the interop unlock which is required for my current work) or just update the current OS (and Keep the Tools to unlock)
// will there be a Zune Update available?

Pretty sure it wipes the entire device, also u can't have HSPL installed, says it will brick your device. I had to apply the dev unlock again after flashing.

New official update for HTC Chacha found 1.57.720.3

Hello Everyone,
I just received a notification that a new software update is available for my HTC Chacha here in India: 1.57.720.3
I am currently on 1.57.720.1 and have unlocked and rooted the device (no custom rom installed)
I have a question:
If I update to this version, will I have to root my phone again? If not, then what is the benefit to update to this version??
Should I update?? I don`t want to lose my root ability.
Don't update, you will have to re root. If I were you I would get cm7 or cm9 they run very well and are much better than the stock ROM

Tried what?
Those listed there on htcdev are NOT ROMs. Those are kernels. You download those and then get the android source code from google, then build android for yourself using those kernels. Which should be for ICS but it has been discussed in the dev section and they seem to be for GB.
Further more, I have compared the 4.0 India and the 2.3 India and only 3 GPIO files have been modified. So it's GB kernel with 4 more lines of code.
So Alex C.
1. this is not ICS?
2. Will i get it stable on my chacha!!

Install the HTC official ICS on operator ROM ?

My phone has only the S-OFF. It's NOT rooted.
How can I update my Desire S with the official ICS ?
the actual ROM is Orange ROM (France) : 2.3.5 (it was my old operator).
Need help.
thanks
Please read the threads relating to the ICS ROM - all the answers have been posted in there many, many times over the last few weeks.

[Q] other country rom on e8

Hello guys!
I am new to android world.I just bought this E8 from China and its the China Unicom version of E8 known as M8SW.There are many chinese apps on the phone and also it doesnt let me take cloud backup of the device as it asks for some chinese weibo account to sign in or create new account. The same phone has been launched in India and some other countries with the model code M8SD.
Sorry for my lack of knowledge,I am just curious can i flash indian or any other country rom like singapore on it which supports english as main default language.I dont wanna install custom rom on my phone and somehow wanna stay with stock rom but from some other country.
Also if i flash some other country rom on it would it be a problem with frquencies my current rom supports and frequencies what indian rom supports.i mean i dont want any hardware issue after i flash indian rom on to my e8.
After i flash indian rom would the ota updates happen or no.
Finally where I can get Indian stock rom for e8.
Thanks in advance.
Harman
Hello, i own also a HTC ONE E8 DUAL SIM (M8SW) with the China ROM on it. This ROM has not the Possibility to UPDATE the Android, is missing this Point in the options Menu. Could you tell me someone where ich can Download another Country ROM who works this OTA function?? Maybe INDIAN oder better another EUROPEAN version. SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP HERE?
THANKS
I would say you have to unlock bootloader (1), go s-off (2), change CID (3), flash international stock ROM and possibly lock the bootloader to get OTA updates. How it's done is explained in several threads here.
One of my own posts containing information on 1, 2 & 3:
I finaly managed to get dutch feeds in Blinkfeed.
What I did:
1. unlock the phone (see www.htcdev.com)
2. flash TWRP and rooted (http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-...luded-t2819571)
3. gain s-off (http://theroot.ninja/)
4. write Super CID (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2317536)
5. modify build.prop (you can find build.prop in "/system"). Set ro.product.locale.language=nl & ro.product.locale.region=NL (I found these records twice in build.prop and I changed both)
6. go to play store, remove Blinkfeed and then reinstall Blinkfeed.
I now have local news and/or feeds in dutch on my HTC One E8 (m8sw), you can probably get them in any language you like.

thanks for the information
i have try to change the ro.product.language and region to en GB , but after reboot, it resumed to zh, CN ....
i just want to change the blinkfeed to hk or tw source..... any idea? ^_^
I'm pretty sure that you are still s-on then...
S-on prevents you from making changes to system.

yes, you are correct, i find still s-on
i try firewater (free) but fail ... :crying: , anyway thank for your sharing :good:
any success?
Hello.. any success? I am also in same situation.. have M8SW, and need other country ROM.
So I can get local blinkfeed, and language support. Though I have changed language to English, some pop-ups still come in Chinese.. guess system related messages.. and default market is not google play, but gives option of either HTC market place /game center.. when I get reminders about app updates. So when I open Google play and then update apps from menu, it works fine.
it seems that it worked on my htc one e8 m8sw with lollypop
