Or specifically, Honeycomb? The last time I had Android, it was Froyo and the app itself was darn sluggish. Wondering if any new RSS reader has been released since then? I love Reeder for the iOS.
Newsr is the shizzle. Best layout of all modern Android RSS readers, formatted for tablet. Enjoy.

Thanks for the recommendation. I just checked and Newsr looks very clean. Exactly what I want. Still wish Reeder would come to Android ;P

Is there an app thats works and is full screen for reading books on Vs g tab? I tried a few on market but couldnt get them to install.
I was able to get the Kindle App installed (stock tNt) and the Aldiko app installed as well. Work fine. I downloaded the apk onto my SD Card as I am currently network challenged. Next up B&N Nook app. I also added the SlideMe dot org app market so try there if the Handandgo App market isn't doing it for you.

I've successfully installed and used, Kindle, Noon, and Acrobat PDF readers on mine.
Aldiko for all your non-DRM ebook needs. Still the best, imo.
txtr also works for me (better than the default Adobe reader imo).

I agree Completely
I don't have a tablet, but I imagine that FBReader would work fine on one, and it's my favorite reader. It's light and without a lot of nonsense most of the others have.
Kindle and aldiko arent dowloading successfully for me so ima try and fine an apk for them online. Hope that works. Btw im using cyanogen beta 3. Wonder if that has anything to do with it.

K well i got kindle, nook, and kobo working but when i try to make an account it tells me i have no connection when i do....weird...
I sideloaded FBReaderJ which works fine, and yes I missed an ebook reader as well even after the update and even though the box mentions ebook reader.
OTOH I found the 10" form factor to be LOUSY for reading primarily fiction books, while 7" was a perfect form factor for me. 10" is just too large and unwieldly, great for web and maybe other applications, but if I end up keeping mine I know that I'm going to want a complementary 7" device... just wish that there was a Tegra based 7" tablet then I'd be a happy camper.

You make a fair point, re: form factor for reading fiction, however, for reading papers, articles, textbooks and other page-sized formatted text, a 10" screen is far superior to a 7" screen, which is just too small.

Got everything working. Re installed and restart tab worked.
Has anyone tried any of these apps on the transformer yet? If so, do you agree with the article, or do you have any apps you'd recommend instead?
http://www.everythingabouttablets.net/2011/05/03/1-apps-honeycomb/
I've tried all those, apart from the twitter one. Yes, they recommend some decent apps, and it's interesting to read others views on them. At the bottom of my second post HERE I've added a section I believe are 'must have' internationally available apps, with a couple that aren't in that other websites list.

Use moboplayer...very good
dropbox...don't like it at all on the android. On PCs it sync automatically, but on android it's "ondemand" so you might have a file in drop box, but it sits there until you "download it" kinda stupid if you ask me. They assume we are on phone and gives no options to just sync for tablets.
File Manager HD is the best file manager for a tablet, IMO.

Try Feedly, it is supposedly the best news feed/RSS reader app for Honeycomb...
The best twitter app on the tab I'd say was plume it looks better and has bigger Widgets.

Feedly doesn't even have a landscape layout. I like Newsr better.

I would add:
Plex and Screen filter to that list.

Good to know. Actually I prefer it that way on a tablet (mostly because I put much work stuff on dropbox and don't want it taking place on the tablet). They should make an option so one could have it one way or another.
I like SugarSync best, precisely because it just syncs things in the background and documents can be directly edited. I use it with QuickOffice Pro HD, and I can open and save documents directly to SugarSync. For my writing projects, it's great: I can start a document on one machine, save it to Sugarsync, and then pick it up on any other machine seamlessly.
One more suggestion...
Check out the Samurai II game for something to show off your Transformer with.
It looks freakin' amazing.
I disagree with the comic viewer. I prefer Perfect Viewer.
I'm not a big comics reader, but I've enjoyed some of the free comics you can get under the Comixology app.
Comics look awesome on the Transformer!
Does anyone know how use Mylibrary(AsusReader) app on CM9? I donwloaded the Revolver removed apps, where is the Reader.apk but id forced closed. All other aplication from this zip work properly. Works it for everyone?Or have someone of you the apk?
Thanks
If your custom ROM is not based on Asus's release, it probably won't work.
Not sure anyone is going to put effort into porting it since it's not that great of an app anyway. There are tons of better substitutes.

Like what for example? I've been trying few free readers from market, but none was so good looking (for tablet) or so simple to use like MyReader for my ebup library. Or some features was missing - like text to speech.
My Library has a nice layout when reading ebooks both in portrait and landscape. The page flipping style is the closest any android ebook reader gets to ibooks. True it may not have much in the name of extra features but just as an ebook reader its quite good
Any news?
Has anyone tried porting it to cm9? i believe I saw it on a ASOP rom but I could be wrong.
Have you tried moon reader?

Actually the latest version of Mantano Reader Premium really outdoes all the other apps.. Been using it a few months, I dont really miss myLibrary anymore

im also desperately waiting for the port. What I like from myLybrary is offline dictionary. tried moon reader, and any top search result in google play for ebook reader. none has offline dictionary
Hi XDA,
I use both my Note 10.1 and my Amaze to read books in my off time and I am wondering if there is a way to sync the two devices so that i'd have the same Ebook in both devices and it would be at the last page I read?
currently, I have to read one book on one device, and another book on the other, or i'd have to go searching for the last page each time, which gets pretty tedious.
I currently use FBReader, but am willing to switch to a different app if it would do this.
for fbreader you can use fbsync. it's free in the market. You can also try moon reader. I it syncs using Dropbox. kindlemsyncs too, but iIhate the limited interface.

thanks, FBsync requires root, so i'll have to wait until i finally get around to doing that on my note, but the moon reader option works like a charm :good:

whoops, sorry, i forgot about that detail. i really like kindle since i could sync my ipad, pc, phones, and tablets. i just really hated the limited customizations. i prefer reading black with red text at night and kindle wouldn't allow that.
moon reader + is my choice now since i really don't read on much anything other than my android devices.
Hey everyone. Has anyone found a good RSS feed reader for the RT (outside of going to the google web variant that is)?
I was hoping there would have been some sort of integration for it with the built in News app - instead its another app Ive found myself hiding from the Modern UI.
I have been using NextGen Reader or News Bento (Slide into app then click More News (bottom right) to access your Google Reader feeds (after authorizing in settings of course) for Google Reader.
NextGen has a nice, typical layout and opens the full feed within the app. Works well and tends to be my daily reader for now. News Bento uses the Metro UI and I cannot recall if feeds open in app or metro IE. Either way it works well and is a nice change layout wise.
I also use Discourse as a replacement for Zite (which is my favorite non Google Reader feed reader). It requires significant setup, but is nice for a general news reader once set up.

Thanks. I had checked news bento but I find it laggy and takes a long time to load. The live tile also doesn't seem to show my feeds.
I'll check out nextgen. I miss some of the ios and android equivalents I've been using for so long.
FWIW, IE also has (since version 7) a built-in feed reader. It's not the best interface, but it's there and it works and it will sync across your devices...

I've used Feed Reader for a while, both on WP and RT. I like it, but it may not be what you want to see.
I tried News Bento and found it not very good either, even though it has good reviews. I actually bought Discourse, which was prevously under a different name, and find it more polished and organized.

Just tried this one. Much better than News Bento. Ill probably stick with this one for awhile. Thanks.
I've been using News Bento, and although I really like the layout (it looks awesome), it is pretty laggy and slow. Not unusable, but close. I can't really recommend it.
Google Reader has an app in the Windows Store now, if that interests you.

wow. Just wow. Never have I seen so much ignorance.
A) This thread is old
B) You just linked to an android app. This is windows being discussed.
RSS Central has made it from Windows Phone to Windows 8
RSS Central just got ported to Windows 8.
It is, by far, the best RSS reader on the Windows store!
I believe Feed Viewer is very solid cloud-based app. I use it daily. It is far more than just RSS reader. It finds dominant image and extracts whole article.
