Bad Rear Camera ? - T-Mobile LG G2x

I think I maybe have a bad (hardware) rear camera, but wanted to know if anyone else has run into the below:
Tried to use bar code scanner and Google shopper scanner in not very bright room last night. Screen was almost black in both cases.
I then tried the Camera - rather dark when viewing the full room. Ditto with Camera 360 - which I also had on my MT4G. Checked settings (which should no affect the scanner apps) and nothing would improve it. Note - I was on eagles 1.0.3, so this was not the original camera app.
Tried the front facing camera - huge difference - light gain produced normal pictures.
I restored a near stock froyo backup, and the original camera was better (plus you can adjust light gain), but other three apps pretty much the same - dark.
I tried MT4G with same scanner apps - all worked fine in the same room.
Again - I am now starting to think it is the hardware. Will go into local TMo store (where I have handled demo's) and check it side-by-side.
Has anyone else run into this??

MT Camera Camera Issue

I'm using the Motorola Triumph on Virgin Mobile, but for some reason whenever I open my Camera application (or any app that uses my camera I.E Yelp/Google Goggles) the camera is blue and green, much like a thermal sensor, and the front view camera's color spectrum is normal. I'm running a beta version of CM7 and its worked properly for as long as I've had it, and now I can't find a way to reset it back to normal. I've tried resetting the camera to default settings, looking at the other apps and seeing if I've accidentally changed any settings that could potentially cause this situation. On a side note, all the color effects on my front-facing camera have never worked, just wondering if that's due to the beta version of CM7, or something else I can fix. Either way, it'd be great to have an answer!
Try backing up your apps, texts, and data (if you want) then doing a full wipe with CMW and reinstall CM7... Also if you aren't using the newest version (B.08 or Cm-tg-reloaded) Then you may want to try those out and see if they work any better.
it randomly fixed after a reboot and then I just upgraded and everything works besides the color effects on the front facing camera

Visible Circular Shape in the Center of Camera Photos Taken Under CFL Lighting

I purchased a new 16GB Nexus 5 phone a couple of weeks ago. I'm quite impressed with the phone overall but there's one particular problem I've noticed which concerns me. If I take photos of something light-colored (such as a light switch on my wall) in a room that uses compact fluorescent lighting, there is a faint but visible circular, ring-like artifact in the center of the photos. If I take similar photos in a room that uses incandescent lighting, however, there are no visible artifacts in the photos. I emailed Google about this to troubleshoot the problem and they took me through some routine steps (a power cycle and clearing the camera app's data and cache) but even after a factory data reset did not solve the problem, they ultimately suggested that I exchange the phone for another one at the retailer where I bought it from. Seeing as this problem does not happen in all lighting conditions, I'm not so sure that it's a hardware issue but I'd like to hear from other users as to whether or not they have experienced this. The software on my phone is Android 4.4. I'd like to try out 4.4.1 to see if it addresses this problem but that software update has not been made available to my phone through OTA as of yet. I've experimented with different camera settings and the problem seems to be most noticeable when HDR+ mode is on but it's still there (albeit to a slightly lesser degree) in the regular auto mode. Is it just my unit that's affected by this or is it a more common problem? I tried attaching a photo to this message to show you what I'm talking about but it doesn't seem to upload because of the forum's JPG file size limit.
I side-loaded the Android 4.4.1 update for my phone and took some new photos to see if this problem still exists. I'm disappointed to see that it's still happening and definitely noticeable with HDR+ mode enabled. There's also a link below to a photo I just took which demonstrates the problem. Do you see the circular / ring-like artifacts on and around the light switch? It's easier to notice if you zoom in.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who has taken indoor photos in a room that uses compact fluorescent lighting. Can anyone here quickly take a similar photo and see if the same thing happens or not? I've even gone so far as to buy LED bulbs for my room to replace my CFL bulbs but I'd still like to know whether or not my Nexus 5 phone has a defect.
The same problem with photos taken under CFL bulbs still exists in Android 4.4.2, unfortunately. There are no such problems under LED or incandescent lighting, however. I'll just have to hope the CFL lighting problems with the camera get addressed in a future update because I'm reluctant to exchange my phone over this if the exact same thing happens on another unit. Has anyone else here encountered this?

[Q] Camcorder issues - need suggestions to narrow down issue

Ok so recently ive been having issues with my MTS4G (it used to work fine so i dont believe its a rom issue) - but i am running KK DS1.2 - which is awesome. I still miss the original sense based camera and as such have set out on a missin to find the best camera app--- hence i have the stock KK camera (i.e. camera) as well as following apps installed:
1) Ucam
2) Focal
3) camera zoom
4) procapture
5) camera KK
Again dont think its the rom , but for 2 weeks now (ive had rom for say several months now) , but when i switch to camcorder (stock KK camera app) mode and preess record all i see is a "halo" around the record button, at which time the video being displayed on phone (which is supposed to be recording) freezes for a second, then resumes as if it were recording. but i see no recording notice, or any timer indicating its recording and the default app (on a good day) makes 0 (zero) byte mp4 files. Not sure where to start i see that KK DS 1.3 is out, but was hoping to figure out what might be the cause of the issue.
I do see that when i press the record , the LED fires up as it used to , but it just doesn't seem to record anything.
Perhaps i have too many camera apps (was trying to compare and find best one) - but my camera with all the apps works great, but after several months of using the camcorder (in ANY app) i cant get it to work at all --- the led light comes on, but it doesn't seem to record anything.
suggestions?

Camera Issues

I have the Verizon Pixel 3, and ever since I updated to the November 5 version I have had nothing but trouble with my camera. The native camera app works great, but if I attempt to use any other app on the device that accesses the camera, I get nothing but a black screen. Apps I have on my device that I've tested include
- Messenger
- Snapchat
- Ibotta
- QR Scanner
Once one of the apps attempt to use the camera, the native camera app only gives me a black screen until I restart the device. Once restarted, the native app will work until another app attempts to use the camera, and then it's right back to the black screen.
Has anybody else had this issue yet? I ran across another post where a different user had the same issue, and they had reset their device a couple of times to no resolution.
On latest (nov 5th update) on pixel 3. Camera works fine in Textra for me.... you shouldn't need QR Scanner anymore with the google camera, just hit the lens button, or enable lens all the time in camera settings.
I'm now having this same issue as of a few hours ago. Nothing changed as far as I can tell but any app other than the default camera app trying to access the camera locks the entire thing up.

The settings I had to change to get it to work was turning on auto white balance (pics were green without it turned on), then I went to the advanced->ancillary camera settings to turn on the ID2 and ID4 cameras so the buttons would show on screen. Renamed ID2 to wide lens, and ID4 to Macro lens. I don't know if I used correct terms for names, the ID2 is the 0.5 camera and the ID4 is the flower icon camera from original camera. ID1, ID,3, ID5 options seems to crash app so I couldn't figure out which one goes to the physical 4th camera on back, so no clue how to access that particular camera plus I don't know what it's for.
Video and everything else appears to work without crashing. It does crash as I play with setting to get it to work better.
Not sure how many people are using the phone still being 2 years old, and didn't see post in the apps section unless I missed it. So here's something in case someone happens to still be using the phone like I am.
