Does anyone experience a pixelated picture when using the stock camera in a low light setting? I find it kind of annoying. The picture during the daytime is great but as it gets darker.... doesn't do so well. Is there a fix for it? Does anyone know if the camera mod fixes this issue??
try adjusting the ISO settings in the camera app. This is mostly a limitation of the camera sensor on smart phones.
it's still pretty pixelated. I'm guessing there's not much more you can do about it since it's a hardware limitation?

Hello all,
since a couple of days i own a HTC One X and i really like it.
What i noticed when using the camera, when i am outside i always get a purple veil, when changing the AWB it gets green.
pic-upload.de/view-14166734/2012-05-12-19.24.20.jpg.html
magezinepublishing.com/equipment/images/equipment/One-X-4692/large/HTC-One-X-trees-IMAG0070_1340963256.jpg
Now i want to know, has anyone else experienced this? (i have seen lots of pictures with this purple veil even from professional testers)
Is this generally on the HOX or is it a failure in a couple of models?
I read "purple vein" and had to come in here to look.
I was expecting something else...
This is what happens when bright light shines onto the camera lens.
Worsened when the camera sensor is overloaded with light.
It happens on any camera but it's pretty bad on this camera.
Try to block bright light sources with your hand, or better yet, avoid shooting into the light.

Ok so it happens on all devices of the HOX?
Anybody getting a constant flow of lines going across their camera? I'm experiencing this with rear and front camera. Really not impressed
I am not experiencing anything like that.

No
I only get it in low light conditions... Might be my energy saving light bulbs, now that I think about it lol.
I do get the lines, but not in the final picture, only in the screen in the camera app.

that s common in xperia somehow. it appears when put camera in dark place
it s only on preview and nothing to do with capturing.
it can be both for lcd and lens
but it s software issue that because final pics are fine
:good:

Does it kinda look like an old CRT monitor when recorded with a video camera? I kinda suspect it may have something to do with the manufacturing origin / intended country of sale for your phone and the region in which you are using it. Here's an interesting video on why https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzP8FFKpwQ0 forgive me if I've misunderstood what's going on.
I get lines sometimes. Usually when near fluorescent light sources, or looking at a TV screen. Don't forget these sources run at certain frequencies, UK electricity for example is 50Hz, so fluorescent tubes are flickering at that frequency, same with TV's. Basically.
The lines on my screen don't seem to translate into the final images, or the image enhancement removes them.
At the club, at the bar, or just in your mom's basement, nighttime is when you come out to play. Rate this thread to express how the OnePlus 5's camera performs when no or low light is present. A higher rating indicates that the camera sensor "sees" lots of light in dim conditions, and that the resulting photos have minimal noise. A higher rating also indicates that when the flash fires, the resulting photo is evenly-lit without any bright spots.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Probably requires a little work on the SW, as I've noticed it takes great pictures at times, and then bad pictures in the same conditions at times. Misses one star for low light pictures.
I deduct 3 star for low light, EIS doesn't work in still image & there is no OIS in OP5 (OP5 downgraded from op3 in stabilization) so, in pro mode it's impossible to use 30s long shot without tripod or stands(who the hell like to use tripod in smartphone).
And the normal shots has lots of visible noises compared to advertised, portrait mode doesn't work in low light with flash, (missing on background lights bokeh), telephoto lens which is only 1.5x optical doesn't work in low light.
??????????????????
It's great to my untrained eyes. XD

No the photo would come out terrible. Tripod is a must on any phone with a long shutter time.

Now I ordered a tripod from Amazon, and a separate smartphone holder. I already got a Bluetooth remote that can be used as remote shutter.
If you are experienced photographer or using OP5. can you tell me what setup would be the best to take photos of half moon with lots of patterned light clouds, I tried to take photo of that and the Moon is all blured out to a round bright circle, I tried on different iso and shutter speed, with focus on that landscape sign ...
I'm very impressed with the low light quality of this camera.

It even got the stars from the night sky.
I putted an auto picture for comparison.
Also Consider the loss of quality from the collage app.
If you are interested in the originals or the shutter speed/ISO settings, just tell me.
how is low light photos after 4.5.8 update ? is it still blurry ?

Yes, I provide here the link for the photos.
These are a set of night pictures, all taken in the same place with a tripod and different settings. This was my first test with a lot of different manual settings.
In every picture taken there's the apperture, the shutter time and the ISO in the details.
You can see for yourself which settings took the best pictures.
Remember this was complete night time with just a few street lights.
The download is pretty big, 427MB but they are the originals with the respective RAW files.

Did you use it? Did you notice some grid from small circles when you crop a picture?
First one was done with stock camera, second one with Gcam HDR+
Hi all
when i take picture of my yard in bright sunlight, when i open the camera app and choose the HDR+on/HDR+enhance with autofocus, the yard in the camera screen is over-exposure, and when i take with HDR+on/HDR+enhance it doesnt change any thing when i saw in the camera screen, it quite strange, because i thought that function should process the over/under-exposure to keep the best detail, highlight and make the picture as real as it can ? what do i miss ?
and one more thing
when i tap the screen to focus to the sky, all around object and bright become darker and when i tap to the yard the bright around is brighter but the sky is lost detail of cloud and the building, it's normal ?
sorry cause i'm newbie with google pixel
Note: i post my isssue to topic https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-3-xl/how-to/share-pictures-pixel-3-xl-t3854033/page12, but i think it would be better if i make new seperatelly topic
test new night mode in daylight condition, works fine for me.

Yes, nightsight would be better than in daylight but if so why do we need HDR function ?
hi all,
i have another picture with my yard
that when i tap focus on the sky to keep the detail of the building and the sky, the yard is more darker, i dont see any advantage when using HDR function on this camera ?
