Ditto. Just installed these and I can play AVIs from Serviio on Ubuntu.
Anyone know a good DLNA Media Server for Windows that properly transcodes for the Transformer or have a profile for a Media Server that gives proper support for it?

I am running Serviio on Ubuntu 11.04, and the Transformer is seeing it in MyNet. I can browse pictures and listen to music. But I can't play any AVIs. Does anybody have a profile for Serviio that works with the device? If so, please post the XML section.
BTW, my XBox 360 sees Serviio and plays the pictures, music and AVIs perfectly.
I believe it's because of the native video app. Many people suggest using a combination of UPnPlay + Moboplayer or using Plex. I'm currently using the former and it works well for me. I'm using a ReadyNAS to host all my media.
This is the one thing I do enjoy about my Captivate is the native DLNA app and its ability to play a variety of videos.

I have had my Windows 7 in the list of dlna server for my tf101.
I can see all videos, etc...
But when i try to play one, it always says "Fail to load" on almost every videos...
somes are mpg, avi, etc.
Isn't DLNA supposed to play what ever my windows 7 will stream ?
If it is the case those videos works really well on the windows 7.
What i am missing ?
Have you tried installing a decent media app like V player, Rock player, Zimly etc - pref with one with its own codecs?

I agree UPnPlay works really well, mynet uses the default gallery movie app which won't support most of your vids rendering it pretty useless.

Are you saying that there is a way to get MyNet to use another player? myNet works for me, I can see my videos on my Twonky NAS, but I can't play any of them with the default player of course. As far as I can see, there is no way to use another player with myNet.
Looking for a solution to stream my huge FLAC collection to my Android devices, with or without transcoding. Looking to use Logitech's revue, or some low power embedded Linux box. Streaming should be possible over the Internet, not just LAN. Any suggestions?

Thanks, I've been trolling their forums for a while now Can you suggest a particular NAS to install Subsonic on (hopefully under $150)? Also, I think Subsonic needs Java, hence may have hefty HW requirements. Do you stream FLACs with or w/o transcoding? How does your NAS hold up to on-the-fly transcoding?
I've also been looking at Twonky (my E4200 router is supposed to have a Twonky media server, only Linksys smartasses managed to ruin it in the latest firmware), MPD, Plex, Tversity and Chumby. Anyone care to comment on any of these?
I have been using WD My Book live which also has twonky media server in it. I use the free bubbleUpnp for streaming audio/video from the NAS, which it does perfectly. Flacs too play very well.
Strangely I could not get the paid Twonky mobile client app to stream my flac files from my NAS!

Does bubbleUpnp stream onto the Internet as well, or just the LAN?
Hi all, so here is my situation:
I have a new Xyboard 8.2, and with the MX Video Player I can play 720p MKVs perfectly fine, as long as they are stored on the tablet itself. However, if I want to play the 720p MKV by streaming it off of my computer, therein lies a few problems. I am using TVMobili as the dLNA server on my computer, and I've not had any problems with it for other dLNA devices, such as a WDTV Live. However no matter which dLNA browser I try to browse/use to play, I can see my files, but when I try to play I either get a cannot play message or audio but no video. Does any one have any suggestions such that I can stream via dLNA (or some other means) and play these 720p MKVs with audio and video?
Plex media server with the plex app for android works like a charm on my Xoom.

Thanks for the tip, will check it out. I actually ended up ditching the dLNA route and going with the MotoCAST server/app that motorola was touting for this device, and it works quite well actually. I am not sure (actually, I think it does) if it employs dLNA technologies, but it is quite seamless. May try the PLEX route to see if the video/audio quality is any better.
For plex there is actually an option to change the streaming quality.

Plex works well, but bsplayer with native lan support baked into it works better locally.

For a tablet side fix rather than server, try using ES File Explorer to browse to the SMB fileshare on your PC rather than DLNA. You'll then be able to stream straight from the PC.
I am looking through the mynet app and there is a dlna section but it doesn't see my xbox 360, it only sees my WD player. How can I connect my TF101 to the xbox 360. I want to stream videos over the air. I know dlna is very limited for formats, but so is my xbox, so it's no big deal - unless someone can recommend and app that will let me hook up my TF101 to my xbox and allow me to play more formats

There is ArkMC application which supports almost any file format. If Xbox support some file - ArkMC supports this file for sure!
Unfortunately neither Mynet, upnplay, or arkmc can see my xbox 360.... I configured my xbox to play videos from incoming devices btw....maybe I have to open a port?
Hmmm it seems upnplay finds my xbox but I can't play videos because the xbox is limited to mpg and wmv...... Too bad, I was really hoping for an epic dlna device
