video volume issue - Thunderbolt General

Did any one hear of a fix for the video volume issue yet ?

Supposed to be in the ota right?
-sent via 1.21 giggawatts of android.

Didn't hear that yet in the OTA update. But sure hope so. I don't need more VW bloatware instead .

I running the leaked radio update. Which should be almost the same as the OTA, if not the same. The audio on video recording is a lot better.

[Q] New Froyo 2.2 For Captivate Bluetooth Voice Command Support

I installed the latest one click froyo 2.2 update to my captivate...and the phone still doesn't support bluetooth voice commands...when will they fix this? Is the captivate the only phone on the market that doesn't have bluetooth voice command support?

You are using a pre-release beta software build. So making any judgments based on this build is premature.
Until there is a Galaxy S phone running an official 2.2 release, we will not know what is included and what is not. After the official build is out, we should be able to add what is missing.
BTW, this issue has been mentioned many times since the 2.2 build was available.
oh okay thanks....so will i be able to get the OTA update when it comes out or will I have to get from this site?
No one knows how Samsung will package 2.2. OTA is expected, but it may be to big and they may direct us to use Kies. I am sure XDA will also have it available along with many cooked versions.
The bluetooth is screwy on the leaked 2.2. When I turn off BT I get a notification that remote SIM is active, and that wont go away until I turn BT back on and off again.
That said the leaked 2.2 is still better IMO than any 2.1 build I've tried. If I wanted a simple, childishly easy phone I would go back to my iphone or get a dumb phone.
When you play and experiment take that into consideration when saying what your doesn't this and wont that.

Same here with the remote sim message. I wonder if it has to do with the A2DP bluetooth profile...
There is a way
There is a way to voicedial over bluetooth on the Captivate, although not without a flaw.
1. You need to install Vlingo, it is available on the market, and it is free.
2. You need to use a headset that supports A2DP profile ( I can not explain this, but I know by experience of trying several headsets that only those supporting A2DP work)
3. In order to voicedial your screen has to be unlocked.
After the initial pairing, some headsets will only work after you hqave rebooted the device.
I am using the leaked 2.2.
Not sure if it will work on a Cupcake pone.
yet with all these problems people on here act if someone is crazy cause they cant wait for the official version to come out. There is leaked 2.2 roms and they are great they say. Yes there kool but again its not the one samsung intended for the phones which is why it was never released. I myself always find to many bugs with 2.2 to live with and cant wait till official comes out. After that we will begin to see a much better set of 2.2 roms less buggy and performing the way it was intended to.

Well, I'm facing exactly the same issue. It is quite strange. If I record a video on my phone, and then play it, the sound would come from earpiece (front speaker) instead of rear speakers. And after that, the ringtone (on incoming calls), video playback sounds will keep on coming from the front speaker (earpiece). I do not know whether it is a hardware issue or a software issue. Can someone confirm it?
My phone (S3) has JB 4.1.1. I do not know whether Jelly Bean update is causing this issue or not, coz when I bought this phone, it was already upgraded to JB.
Can someone who has upgraded his phone to JB confirm it? Are these kind of issues related to hardware or software?
And well to fix it on temporary basis, what I did was I made call from some other number to my phone (One S), the sound/ringtone was coming from earpiece. After making this call, I went to Sound settings (in HTC one S) and re selected the ring tone and it solved the issue. Now the ringtone and other sounds are coming from rear speakers. If the issue is not resolved after re selecting the ring tone, do one thing, flip your phone and make call again to your phone, reject it, and then again select some ringtone for your phone, hopefully it'll resolve your issue on temporary basis. I also tried that (though the option "flip for speaker" is not selected in my phone).
It seems only few handsets have this issue. :S ?
Anyway if anyone else is facing the same issue, let us know here, so we can discuss about it.

Hello,
I have the same problem. Sometimes, my sound get crazy and it can be hear from front speaker, except from back speaker.
After that, I have to do a restart and it's OK, but that's annoying.
VilleC2, it happens after JB update.

Other party can't hear on speakerphone?

I have a T-Mobile 8X and when I turn on the speakerphone the other side can't hear me but I can still hear them. Both sides can hear when speakerphone is off.
Has anyone else had this issue? I've hard reset and still have the same thing so it leads me to believe it is a hardware issue.
And just to clarify this has nothing to do with the voice command to dial using speakerphone. I place the call normally and turn the speaker on and the other party can't hear me but I can hear them. If I do the voice dialing which is the thing I find on Google then I have the same issue as others online (no one can hear anyone) but I don't care about that.
That is a bizzare issue if you can give voice commands but not be heard on speakerphone. They should use the same microphone, right? That would lead me to believe the hardware works fine, and there may be a software issue.
Do you have a case on your phone? Sometimes those interfere, though I doubt it with what you described.
Have you tried doing a call over Skype? That would help you confirm that whether or not the speaker phone mic hardware works, then we'd know the issue is software.
You've probably already checked this, but make sure that the mute button is not getting pressed when you switch to speaker phone.

EVERYTHING works except my voice when on speakerphone. Skype, voice commands, everything. I can record audio with a voice recorder and play it back. Mute button is not pressed.
I've hard reset the phone and it didn't fix the issue. I think I'll send it in for service soon.
Also, I noticed we have different firmware and bootloader versions. Mine are:
Firmware: 1532.20.20004.531
Bootloader: 0.0.1532.20(160093)
I'm on T-mobile too, my phone is only a week old. Your post made me worried, so I tried out a speaker phone call and it worked fine.
Looking at your OS version, I know there is an update available. I haven't gotten it yet, but you might try it to see if your problem clears up.

My phone is on the latest OS available to it. There is an even newer firmware that some people have (20010).

One plus 8t tmobile variant major Bluetooth lag/studder/buffering after Nov26 11.0.4.6.KB09CB OTA

I updated my TMobile one plus 8t to the November 26 ota 11.0.4.6.KB09CB There's a major issues right away with bluetooth connection lag studder, buffer a total mess .. even after a factory reset. I tested my one plus 7 and it does fine on my radio. I had tmobile test a store phone on the android 10 firmware with no lag to there in-store device on bluetooth .
Anyone know of this issue after updating.. is there a fix? Or an update that fixes this ? Major let down ,even tho one plus usually addresses issues ..
i've upgraded to an ota yesterday. build # is 11.0.5.7. you sure you're on the latest one?

It's a well documented bug in the latest update.
Hotfix 11.0.6.8 fixes all lag issues in the 11.0.6.7 update
The 11.0.6.7 update brings November patch, but also has a widespread lag issue

Well that's good to know .. what do we expect timewise for the fix ? This issues seems to be from the beginning of android 11 update .. First 11 firmware all the way too the Dec 29 ota... I tested an android 10 One plus 8t and the music connects and plays fine.. no lag no studder.
Anyone heard of a fix coming? Seeing as it's just bluetooth will they take there sweet time over that issue alone ? I was just about to return this 8t for exchange thinking it's possibly hardware related ...

I missed your link posted ... I read it, I'm gonna try the work arounds all three . Hopefully they just send a ota fix .I wasn't aware of any video playback lag just bluetooth from phone to a speaker or car radio. Thanks in advance.
Okay, just going to throw my 2 cents into here. I had a similar problem with my head unit in my car. The audio would play really fast no matter what media was playing. I would reboot and try re-pairing and nothing. I cleared the bt mem of my head unit and suddenly it was fixed. Furthermore, i wiped my phone and rooted it same issue resetting the bt on the head unit fixed it. This happened to me on a op8pro and 8t.

I'll give that a try can't hurt for sure .. ... Although when I try an iphone 11 and my op7 they work ok on the radio via bluetooth .. the op8t has this huge Connection time /quality/studder/lag issue regardless... And then there's the fact this has been related on xda as an issue with oxygen software Android 11 on op8t and not just my particular instance. Leads me to believe it's software
Much credit to Kevkid for your suggestion I did have 5 phones stored in bluetooth menu .. cleared the memory and the op8t bluetooth is spot on No lag
Thanks for that appreciate it alot.
I have found the issue needed to clean clear bt memory in radio credit to Kevkid for the suggestion. Also I added in the video playback from gallery fix suggestion. Both did the trick.

Question Should i update to android 12?

There's a android 12 update coming but it hasnt released yet. Ive been reading about android 12 and people seem to have problens with it but google claims it increases performance and ive read some reddit posts about it too.
Might want to stay on 11 until it's stable or something.
Hello, if you want to flash your phone with a custom ROM in future, i will recommend you to stay at your current android version to avoid some problems like downgrading (rolling back)
I can definitely say A12 is noticeably slower than A11, and with Samsungs OneUI it straps away the "customization" aspect of A12, OneUI really sucks.
Hello
Mine has downloaded the update and a reminder remains on the top.
Is it a way to abort update for a couple of months ?
Updated to A12, and no difference with A11. Only issue for the moment is overheating by using waze, but not sure linked to update. No data loss or any other problem.
After i update to a12 I noticed that I'm in mono audio by default in earphones and i cant switch to stereo. I've looked in the device info app and it says channels = 1 only, does anyone have the same issue? this make me want to downgrade cuz of this im audiophile.

A shame, entry level phone ok but so ridiculous...
I have A12 but everything works fine. Audio is stereo with Dolby Atmos enabled and SoundID app configured.
yes ive tried it and it works very good on my samsung galaxy a22 5g
I'm now using Android 13 One UI 5 and it's working very well, better than with A12
