[Q] KD1 - Black Circle "Check Status" - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Every once in a while since I've loaded KD1 (odex/deodex makes no difference), there's a black circle that pops up occasionally with a "Check Status" next to it up on the status bar.
What is that for?

It's your T-Mobile back up app (bloatware) working in the background.

[Q] What is the name of the App that controls notifications

I'm looking for the Application that flashes the buttons at the bottom of the screen. For Notifications.
I need the name of the app and how to find it so I can delete it or disable it.
I think this is causing all my reboot problems
How many of those apps do you have running? Go to settings/applications/manage applications then click running... it's probably the app that has the word LED in it...
Freeze it and see what happens.

Couldn't find one with LED in it. One called LGE though.
You talking about "LG 2X/Black Notifications"?

I'm not sure? Whatever app controls the notifications to flash my home, back, search, and menu buttons when I have a text or email.
I'm just trying to pinpoint why the phone keeps turning off all the time.
Thanks for your help
It's called LED Me.

It looks like you are running CM7. Its built into the rom I believe. Try going to settings- cyan mod settings- interface- LED notifications

Phone icon gone from Home screen

I recently Flashed GB and Valhalla. I can't seem to get the "Phone" icon on the home screen to show up to get to the dialer pad.
I have contacts - messaging - applications. Any fixes?
Is it in your app drawer? If it is, open the app drawer. Press on the menu key choose edit and drag the phone icon where u want it. Hit menu again then select "save". Let me know if it works.

No I don't see it in there.
Have you rebooted your phone? Maybe back everything up and do a factory data reset. That should fix it.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
It's in there, unless you were unlucky enough to get a bad download.

Reset to factory and still nothing. Same 3 icons and it is still not in the app drawer
----------------------
When I drag the phone option on the lock screen to open it..it just freezes, kills and reloads to the lock screen as well as the EDT slide function on the lock screen. The unlock slide works fine.
I would download the rom again and reflash

Fixed. Just re-downloaded the ROM and flashed it. Thanks!

Ish. Well now it just constantly resets and reloads itself ..the launcher.
Constant soft boots.

Bad download would give an error 6 in CWM.

Completely remove mobile life album app?

If a thread like this was created already please point me to it.
I installed the mobile life app from tmobile, and when i set my data to 2g, the app has a notification that '2g is enabled' then it eventually automatically turn 4g back on....it uses up extra data and battery so i decided to uninstall the app, but it still shows the notification that '2g is enabled' and turns 4g back on....
Is there a way to completely remove the app??
Thanks

I would say if it is a T-Mobile app you should contact them to help remove it.

The ongoing notification requires root. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1770622
Or you can root to the Synergy Rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792499
The notification deletion is imbedded in the Rom. After flashing it, reboot once and it's gone for good

If you're on Verizon, it's impossible to miss. It's in your notification bar when you drag it down each time and reads "Wi-Fi off: turn on Wi-Fi"

Oddly enough, some report that they have neither the ongoing notification nor the annoying pop-up when wifi is off on a fully stock device. The vast majority have it but I've seen a couple saying they don't have either.

PROBLEM SOLVED!! (kinda.)
you can pull down the notification bar and long-press the "Tap to turn wifi on" ongoing notification and then click app info. from this point, the process will come up titled 'Android System'. (this is not what runs your phone, its just titled this) if you force stop this process, the notification will go away until the next time you boot up your phone! -i know its not permanent but it sure beats the hell out of it always being up there!!
THE MAIN BENEFIT OF THIS FOR ME (AND FOR ANY OTHERS WITH 4.1) WHEN YOU GET A MESSAGE OR EMAIL, IF ITS THE TOP NOTIFICATION IN THE LIST, IT SHOWS ADDITIONAL DETAILS. CHECK IT OUT IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

*2 disabled

***SOLVED***
when i dial *2 i get a message saying "unable to open app" com.android.phone is disabled. I have gone to check if the app is disabled, and it isnt. When the message appears, it gives me "ok" and "app info", the app info dims the screen and nothing happens. Not that i call sprint often, but id like that functionality back on my phone. Im VERY rooted and am running MOAR 6.2. Any ideas here?

I've begun getting this as well. I have a Note 3, stock rooted.
I get the sprint zone app when I dial *2. When I want to call sprint, I dial 1(800) 639-6111. I saved it as a contact.

The app has been removed as bloat and is probably going to be that way on most custom roms. You can reinstall it from the bloat installer located on that rom page. Not sure if you can get it from the play store too.

Makes perfect sense now thanks to you both! And I'll just have to add the contact as I'm perfectly happy with the bloat removed and staying that way!
