Official Twitter app in the Android market now

In case you didn't know, Twitter has been working on an official app for Android and Apple, and Android's app is available in the market now.

This is one beautiful and well working app, thanks for the heads up

hmmm.. wonder if I should replace my Twicca with this

lol iam just gonna use both switch off from time to time on each one

touiteur still has more features...like multiple reply function. Plus it has @ auto complete. Also threaded replies is a must for me!
official twitter app sync with your contacts is amazing feature though and I like how it builds in the OS like facebook does

I'm not much of a Twatter person, but this is a nice looking app, will try it instead of Twicca

Nice, simple...damn, sync feature is nice...but I got used to Touiteurs different colours..

hmm it seems the sync feature replaces your contacts address book name with their twitter name which is actually pretty damn annoying

I don't know, I'm pretty used to Twidroid already

hmmm, I already theme Touiteur to match my minimalistic theme...I'm about to theme Twitter and see how that goes...I'll let you know.

yea i've disabled sync for now. hoping it's treated as a bug and fixed in a update soon

No it doesnt. But its early on this app and i like it and im a twidroid pro user. Give it a try.

Agreed. I've yet to find a twitter client that worked as well as TweetCaster.

yeah it doesn't give any syncing option anywhere. it says that i have no contacts when i look in view yet i have 10 followers who i follow. that makes them contacts surely?
and where is this map interaction? i cant find it

FOR 2.1 Only !
My personal strategy does not involve, being on 2.1 until an official release gets modded, so I can't use it. Maybe it aught to be said up front. FOR 2.1 Only ! Doesn't show in my 1.5 market.

You're only doing yourself a disservice, the jump from 1.5 to the current 2.1 build everyone is using is massive compared to what an official release is going to provide on top of what we have.

You may be right. That's why it's personal. I'm not recommending it. I'm not justifying it. It just is.
Back on topic: the 2.1 issue for com.twitter.android should be posted. Even the QR code should have been posted.

the sync is strange. I even switched it to Sync All and it did add the people I follow to my contacts, but the one contact that I already had in my phonebook, whom I also follow on twitter, did not get added or updated with the twitter link. oh well.
I found the map interaction after viewing a profile that had location-based tweets turned on, then pressing Menu > map.

Yeah this update seems not too bad. Especially with auto-complete for mentions. I am trying it out to see if it can replace Twidroyd. =P

Wish they'd add remember your place in the timeline like Tweetdeck has. However this is much improved from the last version.

i like tweetdeck but one thing that annoyed me was the facebook thing, i want to post from facebook but dont want it in my timeline, as soon as i sign in it updates my collumns with facebook crap, i know you can turn it off but even when you turn of facebook, the posts still say there untill other posts e.g. tweets push them to the bottom. apart from that and i know its only a minor thing tweetdeck is easily the best social media management tool on your mobile and desktop devices. i think its just the fact that people like to keep things simple, and the official twitter app is REALLY simple to use, also like i said "official", this probably has a big effect on people, some people arent to keen on third party apps, apart from people on here lol, if you didnt like third party then i really doubt youd be on this forum

lol it was in the market when i put it on here anyway, howd u think i got the apk, this is incase people dont have an internet connection or just want the apk for a faster download or w/e reason i dno, could use it to cook in a rom who knows.

Dolphin browser HD beta3 rocks?

Hey, guys, I wonder whether you have tried Dolphin browser HD beta2? You will understand me if you have tried out. I read their dolphin blog. The Dolphin HD beta3 has come out. Compare with beta 2, I think the address bar becomes smoother. And layout of settings, I can finish the common settings in the side bar. It’s cool. They have fixed some bugs. The most important is that they are pretty fast. Moreover, they have updated 4 add-ons (Speed dial ,Alexa Rank, Shiny Shake and Screen Cut) but in beta 3 only blue theme have updated. I really like their themes, fresh layout makes me relaxing. Hope they will update more themes soon.
It seems that beta3 is the final release in the market. But I’m not sure. Anyway, they have done a great job.

Actually i heard from a friend this morning, and then i downloaded the newest version, beta3. It is so cool that i can import bookmarks from the original browser without using bookmarks to SD.

That's not a valid excuse to avoid saying what it does. I tried it and its just a wrapper for an ios simulator. It works and looks nice but its kinda pointless if you can't full screen it and use it

How does it work?,is it need any internet connection?and is it possible to install others app?

Works good, to many ads and pop-ups to be useful though. Also requires a lot of permissions I'd suggest disabling right away. I disabled all of them.

I mainly use ilauncher with inoty for status bar and Launcher. For lockscreen I just use a cool lock I found on go locker, lockscreen doesn't matter that much for me. Control center I downloaded an apk from the internet since it was removed from play store and there I go!

I was going to install until I saw all the permissions it needs. lolno.

I know this is a late comment, but are you still working on it? It's not available in the Play Store, so I had to download the apk online, but when I try to use it, it says "Embedding the demo is not allowed, please visit https://appetize.io/demo". Is there any way at all I can get around this, or no? I would really like to try this out...

- Could not find any valid link in this thread.
- I'm interested to try this app but could you please fix the link or upload the APK file to google drive or dropbox?
- Also I would like to know if it needs root or not.
