Hi all,
I have recently sold my g tab on ebay.
I tried to clear my own personal data of the tablet. I am running vegan ginger edition and went to privacy and then clicked on reset (including delete data off sd card). Bloody stupid thing to do I now realise.
When the tablet rebooted, it got stuck in a boot loot on the vegan tab screen. I obv cant restore a nandroid backup or reinstall the rom because I deleted.
Any ideas on how i might be able to fix this would be really appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

Easy, use "nvflash recovery kit" to recovery your table via USB cable, go back into the recovery mode, have the then cwmod_internal installed if you not already done so with the nvflash, use Calkulin's_FORMAT_ALL.zip to format your gtab and then go back into recovery mode and mount it as usb and transfer the ROM that you want and then flash it ....
search in the DEV section to have more details

Thankyou so much for your reply, I will try that now
I ran the nv flash and that all went fine. however, when the tablet rebooted, it is now just doing a boot loop between the gtablet logo and the viewsonic birds, continuously. I think i need to repartition the sd card? any ideas if this and how i might go about doing that?
Thank you
Problem solved - loaded CWM using the following instructions http://guide-to-installing-clockworkmod.com/ then i was able to repartition SD card. Then performed another NV flash and good to go!
thanks y2k-inc

NP, this way you will be sure, that your personal information is wiped out
Use NVFlash to start over from scratch would probably be the best bet.

Please help me fix my Droid Incredible
I bought my Droid Inc last night (3rd Party). When i got it, it was rooted with some sort of Cyanogen mod. In the process of trying to install just a normal leaked Froyo build i really messed up... please forgive me in advance for my limited knowledge on the subject
The Droid didn't come with an SD card so i put my old Droid 1 SD Card in. Everything is wiped and i believe the card is formated correctly (FAT32).
Now, i can't do anything. I just keeps boot looping. I've gone into recovery and tried a factory reset, tried to put files onto the SD card via the Droid 1 and transfer the SD,....i've tried everything i know how.
The main error i keep getting is "unable to mount data, cache,..etc"
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP. I am so desperate

Which recovery menu are you getting? A recovery menu is a good thing! Depending on the recovery that you have will determine what the next steps are to fix your phone.
When i hold the down arrow and power on I am getting to the HBOOT screen. I'm unfamiliar with this menu coming from Droid but i have tried to Clear Storage and that didn't work. I've also gone into the "recovery" which i'm a little more familiar with as it looks like the Droid 1 screen.
Whats next?
again... which recovery menu do you have? it should be listed on the main recovery screen
oh i'm sorry
I have ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.1
And i figured out how to mount my SD Storage via recovery... I just don't know what to do next

Beautiful! Now... Choose a ROM that you want on the phone and put the zip on the SD card..Then flash via recovery...
Once this is done and you are back into your OS, you can either keep the ROM or you can follow the instructions for unrooting the phone back to stock.. your choice.
Just a quick update...

Let me start by saying I had a perfect install of TNT Lite v5.01. I semi-bricked my G-Tab trying to install it and learned how to recover it using nvflash; regardless I decided I wanted to backout of TNT Lite 5.01 so I could stick w/ released firmware and re-install TNT Lite 4.3.x. I should say that I've flashed many a ROM via recovery/cwn in the past and am fairly familair w/ the process.
I followed roebeet's instructions of backing out by flashing over TNT Lite w/ the OTA 3588 ROM and go back afterward to flash over it w/ TNT Lite 4.3. The flash to OTA 3588 went through fine and the auto-reboot occurred and I was stuck in bootloop(Viewsonic & gTablet screens). I then tried flashing 3588 and TNT Lite 4.3 both multiple times with no avail. I then proceeded trying the Format Utility and reflashing back to stock afterwards as I had luck in the past reflashing to stock w/ nvflash. However I still come back to the same bootloop. I format once more using the above link and nvflash comes up w/ a bootloop, I power it down and it won't power back up, even into APX mode.
I've since opened it up to unplug the battery physically pulling the plug from the board. This re-enabled APX mode. I have since been able to reflash replacing recovery w/ cwm and can get to cwm, but that is about it. This is where I've been since w/ nothing but bootloops for my attempts.
note
---
When I try to wipe data/factory reset in cwm it returns the following error:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk3p2
(Invalid argument)
Error mounting /data/!
It formats CACHE & SDEXT no issue.
cwm can only seem to find my internal storage so I have been transferring ROMs to it via mounting it as a USB device(using cwm). And regardless of what I attempt to flash(the install runs fine) I always come back to the bootloop of the Viewsonic and gTablet screens. I can confirm that cwm can't find my ext microsd by checking the listed directores when I choose install from sdcard.
Any ideas at all? =]
Attempting the 2048/0 partition trick recommended by butchconnor in another thread. Won't have time to try it now, but will be taking my G-Tab to work to attempt any recommendations.
Have you tried powering it down from the bootloop and then powering it back on normally without going back into recovery?
I kept getting bootloops coming back to vegan from TnT lite and was frustrated as hell untill one time I forgot to hold down vol + and it booted fine. I had changed nothing as the 3 previous boots were just wiping data / cash / davlic.
I also get that error when trying to wipe dalvic and was told that it has something to do with a part of partition 2 but never got more info than that.

I bricked my friend's GTAB but roebeet saved my arse
My friend wanted a Gtablet when he saw mine with TnT 4.2.5, he couldn't get over the fact i control my PC with VNC viewer, can view my webcams etc etc. So he offered me a 32G micro SD to order one for him and ROOT it. Long story short once in 4.2.5 and downloading everything in the market it froze or something then went into boot-loop. then i really messed with it and then magic NO-GO (only messed with it because i knew WE had such awesome support HERE)
1st flash only gave me a boot loop, then affter finally understanding to rename the recovery.img in clockworkmod v08 to part9 and part9 to part9.org in the NVflash folder i created, i was able to flash, enter clockworkmod and wipe old data and voila.
THANKS roebeet and others who help us rivalize and surpass IPAD. Now everyone in my town wants one!

Yes, I get bootloops after installing a ROM from sdcard, from internal storage and even after wiping all but the boot partitions(cache, dalvik, data, sdcard) via cwm. I was able to wipe data now by partitioning my sdcard 2048/0 and will be trying to install via sdcard again here shortly.

Yes, I've nvflashed w/ recovery and cwm in place of recovery; mentioned this towards the end of my initial post. =]
I have also set partition to 2048/0 and no issues the past hour of stress tests
Hi Notwen
Initially i also received the E:Can't mount /dev/block / Error mounting /data/! prompt. In CWM I unmounted everything in advanced, formatted everything, rebooted and only had the Viewsonic birdy screen with 'Magic..error' script above left, that's it. Proceeded to NVflash process from there
Not sure what the root cause of it all, but simply repartitioning the sd card 2048/0 killed the bootloops and I was able to load and install ROMs from the internal storage. TNT Lite 4.3.2 is up and running great now. Thanks all for the recommendations/help. =]
Awesome! Good to hear! Repartitionong can really fix a lot of goofy errors. I do it instead of wiping everything when installing a new rom. I just move my backups to my PC and let er rip.

I tried searching the threads in regards to my problem but could not find an exact similar issue.
OK, here's my problem. Running Clockworkmod recovery with the new touchscreen ability, and all was running fine while in ICS 4.04. Its the Xoom mz604 wifi only model. I then installed the WINGRAY rom (Yes, BEFORE I read about the loss of ability to read from the SD port. So, now, I can still boot into recovery, but it obviously wont mount my sd card, and I can't uninstall the pre sd error fixed wingray rom, so all it will do is stay in the motorola screen ad infinitim. I have tried full factory reset, everything, but nothing works. I cant \even do a restore from my backups, because they are on my SD card.
Please, PLEASE, all you brilliant people out there HAVE to have heard this happening, and hopefully have a solution for me.
You can email me direct if it makes communication easier for you at [email protected].
Any suggestions whatsoever would be VERY much appreciated, and I am thankful for your time and knowledge.

Can you flash back using Odin?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Flash Rogue Recovery, reboot into recovery, and then you should be able to flash things from your sd card.
Worst case: use LAIOT and the images from http://developer.motorola.com/products/software/ to reset back to a stock image, put the image you want to flash in the right place, and go from there.
Edit:
Just realized that you won't be able to get Rogue recovery where you need it, you can however fastboot flash the old CWM which should work as well for most things.
Thanks
Veilshatter;
thanks for the advice but that would do not good as I have to be able to boot first to use.\
airesch;
attempting your suggestion through the SDK. That seems to be the only way I could get around this. I will let you know.
Thanks.
Really Screwed now.... I think.
OK, after flashing the CWM through fastboot, which seemed to work fine, now once I reboot, it still endless cycles on the moto logo, and if I try to UP+Power, all it shows is Starting RSD mode 3, and I can't do anything. Can't boot with DOWN+Power either.....
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!
MZ604
I was running CM10 on a rooted TFT101. I was having some WiFI connectivity issues so I decided I would try out a new rom. I used Titamium Backup and backed up all my needed files to my Mico SD card. Once backed up, I rebooted into CWM v6.0.1.3. I went to do a factory reset prior to flashing the new rom. The tablet just froze. I rebooted the tablet back into CWM. I tried to again do a factory reset and again the tablet just froze. I tried to boot back into CM10 and I just sits and spins and never actually boots into the OS. I decided that I would just go ahead and just flash the new rom and do a factory reset after the fact. I placed the new rom on the micro sd card and booted back into CWM. I attempted to install zip from SD card and now I get e:can't mount /sdcard/. I have tried 3 different micro sd cards and nothing. I have formatted each to fat32 and not one of them is recognized. All 3 are recognized by windows.
Since I can't boot into the OS...and I can't load a new rom....I am dead in the water. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
If you can get it to that endless boot logo and connect it through USB, ADB (info - download) should be able to access whatever's left on your device assuming it gets far enough in the boot process. If it does, you can adb pull the backups to your computer to save them.
That being said, Easy Flasher will help you get back to 100% unrooted stock and "unbrick" your device with a few clicks. Then you can start over with a new recovery and rom. But it will wipe your entire device clean, hence why I suggest you first check if you still have backups and if you do, pull them on your computer using adb.
I can't help with the CWM problem, I haven't used it in a long time.

Thank you Lethe6. I saw that option and wondered if that might help me. I will try it out today.
One quick question. If I flash back to stock I am guessing I will just need to reroot once I am able to boot it back up?
Thank you again for your assistance.
Yes exactly. Easy Flasher has a root option as well so it's fairly easy to get going with customizations after restoring to stock!

Go figure. I went to fix the issue last night per your instructions and I was sitting at the Google login screen for the the new rom I loaded. What ever issue I was having corrected itself. That never happens. I guess I shouldn't complain =)
Thank you again for your assistance Lethe6!
I've been searching for 3 days now, and everything I've found has not worked. I am using twrp, and have tried flashing three different roms. Everything in fastboot and twrp runs fine, but as soon as I get to the asus boot screen (I've seen it to be called the circle/ring of death) it freezes, then reboots. I've tried re flashing back to stock rom, upgrading firmware/ downgrading firmware, different twrp versions, stock recovery, hitting my head on the tablet. I don't know what else to do.
My tablet was version 4.2.1 I used the boot unlocker v_8. Tablet was rooted and working for one day, then over night this began.
If someone could please point me in the right direction, or is this just a case of my tablet being done for?

Do you have valuable data on the tab? If yes, I'd suggest you copy them off your internal storage to your external Sd card with TWRP, then erase everything per buster99's script (search for the name); flash stock rom via fastboot. You don't need to reset the tab by poking the hole since you apparently can get to fastboot without issue.
DO NOT touch the wipe data icon on the boot screen! Do everything with TWRP only. If you choose to do it via SD card, remove the card before rebooting to see what happens. It has occurred to me that leaving the card inside might cause problems. Good luck.

I copied anything I wanted saved, but I did not do a legitimate backup of software files.
I have pressed the wipe data icon on the boot screen under the confusment of the many different posts. What step does that leave me at?
EDIT:
So crazy Buster99 fastboot flash did it. Sucks because I tried that before but I guess I may have missed one line of the reflashing script. Well thanks, after three days I've finally been put in the right direction.
Seems like that pesky /misc partition is causing problems. Glad you got it sorted out though.
