[THEME] Glasstopia v1.5 Updated For CM7 Nightly #90 [07/29/2011] - T-Mobile LG G2x

Glasstopia
So, I was inspired by the Solar Winds Live Wallpaper (free on the Market and shown in the screenshots) to create a very translucent theme. What's the point of having such a nice wallpaper if you can't see it most of the time right?
I originally created this theme for the Vibrant, and decided to bring it over to me new phone. What I've been able to port so far:
Translucent Dropdown Menu and Statusbar
Translucent Menus
Translucent Popups
Translucent Dialer
Translucent Contacts
Translucent Mms
Translucent Settings
Translucent Music Player
Translucent & Inverted GMail
Translucent Market (From Paul Diddy)
Translucent Keyboard
Translucent GoogleSearchBar
Battery Percentage Mod
General Blue Theme
Also added many color icons
To achieve a clear background for the app drawer, just set the "alpha" bar all the way down for the color setting in ADW Launcher.

I don't see any point in reproducting perfectly good work, so I won't be making any widgets that are on that list. However, if there's any widget that you don't find there, isn't up to date, or simply would like it looking a bit different let me know and I'll take a look at it

Build 11 is the one it was built off of. Realistically it will most likely work for all future builds as well, but may overwrite select certain commits in the process. I'm running it on #14 now, for example. Basically, unless they do something major, like when they upgraded from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4, you should be good to install. I'll do my best to keep it up to date, however.

Hmm....guess G2x users have different tastes than Vibrant users.

why isnt the top bar transparent? and i cant get transparent xda to work either. im using cm7 build 14

Nice theme...love all the transparency. Thanks
Flashed on build# 15 and works fine.

@OP- Is it possible to add some kind of mod for the Battery indicator? It will be a nice addition to the theme

Had unique issues with the top bar being transparent on CM7, they seem to do things a lot different in terms of image layering. Basically, if I make the bar transparent, you will always see the date in the background making it look terrible. It's something I may look at more down the road.
As for the transparent XDA, I didn't personally make it, but I use it on my phone and haven't had any issues. Might post in theimpaler747's forum about your issue.

I can and I will, just hadn't decided on a look for one yet. Plus I spent a good number of hours getting everything coded up to this point and was tired

New version up with requested additions as well as some other modifications I thought looked good. Also, of course, updated to the latest CM nightly (#16).

Thanks...the new status bar with mod really looks nice
Also it is now easier to read the text on the notification pull down.
One minor thing...in earlier version the lock screen buttons were themed. In this version it's back to cm 7 default.

Lol, very observant. I left them out on purpose as the weren't really matching the new style....and I once again got lazy I'll probably include something with the next release.

Settings -> CyanogenMod Settings -> Interface -> Notification Power Widget -> Widget Buttons.
After that is set up the way you like, I then had to go to Widget Button Order and move them around to get it to show up.

Nope, this is for CM7 only. However, I imagine certain apps would be compatible. If you're familiar with pushing individual apks, you could backup the originals and push them one at a time and see how it goes . I certainly wouldn't push the framework, Settings, or SystemUI apks though.

Will this be made compatible with CM7n26? I love the look of this theme just didn't like nightly 16, nightly 26 is running awesome best out of any nightly I have tried on any device. Would you make this theme work?

Theme: MyTouch 4G
Compatible ROMs: CyanogenMOD nightly 168 tested, RC1
Replaces: Framework, mms
MyTouch 4G theme for your cyanogen mod evo! Decided I wanted to put something out that I hadn't seen yet, and I wanted that something to be for cyanogenmod. It was built on cyan nightly 168 (what I'm currently running) but if there is enough demand from RC1 users (though I assume RC2 is right around the corner) then I will make one if this doesn't work.
More to come..
Required XML edits (these can all be found in cyanogenmod settings)
-Change clock color to white: #ffffffff
-Change clear notification color to white: #ffffffff
-Change carrier text color (if you even use it) to white: #ffffffff
-Change date color to white: #ffffffff
-Change notification ticker color to white: #ffffffff
(if I'm forgetting anything let me know)
*Launcher is not included*
Download nightly version here (168 tested): Release #1
Download RC1 here: Release#1
RLS1
-replaced all main button selections with MyTouch4g
-replaced notification bar (custom)
-replaced notification handle (custom)
-replaced notification item backgrounds
-replaced mms notify icon
-replaced widget icons
I like the way this looks! I'll definitely give a go.
barnacles, sir, you are the one. Thanks for this. I will be dl'ing directly and trying it out. Been waiting for something of this nature.
Tried to install but sent my phone in bootloop after recovery. I do like how it looks at this point. Interested in it when it works
out of Apple semen came the HTC Evo
OP,
what do I need to extract from the framework in order to get the blue selector and blue progress bar? I would like to put the blue in the ROM that I am using now.
Thanks

Nightly. I'm on 164 right now.
Edit: Ok, so for the Selector I believe I need:
res\drawable-hdpi\list_selector_background_focus.9.png
res\drawable-hdpi\list_selector_background_longpress.9.png
res\drawable-hdpi\list_selector_background_pressed.9.png
res\drawable-hdpi\menuitem_background_focus.9.png
res\drawable-hdpi\menuitem_background_pressed.9.png
Correct?
But what about Blue progress bar? Is it an XML file?
Thanks

Don't think I'm gonna be able to keep up with the nightlies every night for those asking, but I Rc2 and final are both around the corner. Ill probably continue upping nightlies when there are big changes commited.

For some reason only certain elements worked. The status bar is red, but the lockscreen sliders are not. I was running frost and it seems some of the new elements didn't overwrite the other theme that was already installed.

Well you guys did better than me; mine wouldn't even BOOT. I flashed CM 6.1 in CWM and then immediately put the theme over it, not sure if that had anything to do with it or not...also, does the data fix work? I stayed up until 3 this morning trying to get 6.1 to boot AND restore my apps (3rd time through it booted, but I didn't have the GApps package so I had to go BACK to MIUI, download the GApps, then reflash). Frustrating night.

That's really odd. Try wiping and reflashing.
As far as the clock in the statusbar, does CM for the Incredible have the options to change those colors? I didn't bother changing any of that in the theme since you can change the clock/date stuff in the status bar in CM settings on the Evo.

Try this: Wipe, flash CM, let your phone boot and sync, then go back into recovery and flash the theme.

I see this says it is only supported for the international Galaxy s3.
This will work for I535 correct?

Sorry I forgot to change that, this is a port for the verizon galaxy s3 (And it should work on all US variants), if you have an international galaxy s3, go here to the original creator's thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2080046

Thanks for porting this over. Mixed results on Beans 8. Pulldown toggles doesn't have text on his, so that's my guess. Beautiful theme.
Plans for a center clock option, perhaps?

Thanks, I will try to add a center clock version tomorrow.

It should work fine, it uses the villain theme system so it doesn't replace apks like traditional theming.

I've always flashed kinda crap mods to get toggle text back, then flash theme on top. Works with wasabi themes, not sure about this one as I haven't tried it yet.

Just installed over The Executioner 3. Doesn't seem to work properly. SystemUI keeps crashing. What does load, looks fantastic though! I look forward to a working version.

Just tried it. Got system ui FC with no status bar. Verified that kindacrap worked fine as I rebooted after flash.
Flashed Wasabi afterwards to see if that would fix it - same result.

Theme looks fantastic and works great on Galaxy Mod. Very well done.
I noticed a few key icons weren't themed though, like phone, browser, email and gallery. Are these in development or should they already be there?
Thanks again for porting this. Its awesome.

If we flash a themed app, then an update comes out for said app on the play store, would we not see that update?
This theme looks amazing btw thanks! First theme that appeals to me besides stock tw and I've looked at a lot of them.

Cool...good to hear...the theme looks AWESOME...Im just always weary about flashing themes and what they may inadvertently do to any under the hood or behind the scenes tweaks that the ROM devs make...

Re: [ROM] neXus GB [2/23/13]
For some reason, FTL is really lagging. For the next release, I'll be switching over to stock Gingerbread launcher. It behaves so much better and it does keep with the Nexus pure Google experience.

EDIT: Done. Everything runs smoother now. I am not going to use LauncherPro or ADW because I'm going for the Nexus feel here, guys.
Just installed, seems smoother than other ROMs I've used.
Really digging the old school look.
Also looking forward to future updates!
(When I hit Menu, there's nothing between the 'Search' and 'Settings' buttons, that's the only thing that looks a lil' off. Messenger could go without that pink like your other build.)

Thanks! I wanted the old school look. No fancy stuff....pure Google 2.3, y'know? And I love ay0teddy's Gingerclone.
I'll switch to green in the next update. That pink stuff is disgusting, I know...lol.

Re: [ROM] neXus GB v1.2 [UPDATED][3/01/13]
I managed to remove the pink from the messaging app. Now, it has that Gingerbread look to it. Uploading now.
As far as the empty space, that has more to do with how the dev of the app made it. Sorry.

I noticed that I did not remove the pink in Messaging completely. In landscape mode, that pink line is there....I'll take care of that.

Thanks, I'll update tomorrow.
I'm surprised there aren't more people on here that dig Gingerbread.

Ehhh I just use them all I switch between roms trying to help ric out with anything messed up
Since rubix was just about finished I've been using his roms I think I may come back to this rom soon
I would really like to see green status bar items idk why I just like them being light green they look nicer
Or even better flashable .zip that would change the status bar items colors using the lockscreen method replacing one of the tabs in display an allowing to choose from different colors would be amazing
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda app-developers app
If you really want it, and I mean really want it ill get you a green flashable, it will for the most part be dependent on one specific rom
So choose one and ill make it happen

Really I just need the wifi and the signal
Not just the bars tho it needs the signals for what its running off 4g high speed a all of that an truly I think it would look good on this rom
The reason I ask for a flashable tho is because the flashable zips work on every rom so not only would I get it for the rom I am using but everyone else would get it as well idk I might try to make something but won't be for awhile as my computer acts up a lot now
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda app-developers app
Well changing theatre status bar is part of the systemui.apk and my assumption OK s that even though many ROMs for this are the same base it would change other parts of the ROM. So yes the way the ROMs on this phone are all similar in this aspect I could get you a flashable .zip that would flash in any ROM and would change whatever icons in the status bar to green you want but when flashed from a different ROM it may change other aspects of the ui, but it would work.
I'll ask a friend and see if he knows of another way but as far as I know you couldnt simply flash a color to am icon in the status bar without overwriting the systemui.apk

Hey ric id like to request a 1-100% battery
So that it would count down each percent
Example: 99% 98% ect.
