I have just synchronised my XDA to Outlook.
I would like to back-up my data to a CD just in case.
Is it the OUTLOOK.PST file that I back up to CD - is this the file that contains all my contacts, tasks and calendar?
Thanks.
yep
What is a CSV file - is that for the contacts or will they be backed up in the PST file?
Thanks.

Is it possible to put some kind of file, database I suppose, on my pocket PC and then import that into contacts? If so, to what kind of files should I export my Microsoft Office outlook contacts, where would I place it, and how would I team put it?
(I need to do this because my pocket PC will only sync notes and other files, it will not synchronise contacts, tasks, and calendar.)
PIMbackup will backup most everything, custom settings(some) all contacts and contact pictures to a single backup file which you can copy to another device and restore the backup.
I backed up my contacts using Resco Contact Manager's 'export' feature into a CSV file. Then, since I was in a hurry, I hard resetted my phone. I thought importing the contacts would be simple, I would just imort the CSV file into outlook in my PC.
But if I import the CSV file, all the contacts imported are blank. No info at all. I tried to open the csv file in excel, and it opened successfuly, with all the information in the respective fields.
But Outlook fails to import it. Similarly, I tried PPC PimBackup in my phone. Same problem, blank contacts are imported.
I cannot figure this problem out. Any help?
PS: I also exported the contacts (using resco) as an XML file. But I cannot open the XML file anywhere but notepad as I get an error.
I found out there is an export option for Resco Contact Manager, and you can export all your contacts in .csv or .xml format.
The thing is, there is no option to import, so how do i import those files?
I use SASHIMI, will it be ok if i just put the .xml file in the 'XML' folder?
Here is more info about the app:

Hello.
I have 3 excel files with a list of 150 contents names on each one of them.
Is there any way to add this list to the phone as groups?
Lets say that the excel files are A,B and C
And i wish to add them as groups to my phone directly. So i will not need to pass any name on the list to create groups?
Thank you

You can export to csv in excel, then convert it to vCard with http://www.csvtovcard.com. So you can import in Android or Google Contacts (web).
Thank you. I will try
