[Q] Moto Droid. Ok, I blew it. Flashed Gingerbread ROM without kernel - General Questions and Answers

First I rooted my Droid as per: Motorola Droid: Full Update Guide - CyanogenMod Wiki
Got the ROM Manager installed and working and then selected: Peter Alfonso's Stock Rooted Gingerbread ROM GPA 13 using the ROM manager, but didn't install the kernel!
Rebooted phone and it shows a M logo, blinks and gets brighter, but nothing from there.
Tried to repeat the rooting steps to reinstall the update.zip and got errors: e: update.zip install blocked and E;error in /sdcard/update.zip (Status 7) installation aborted.
Got a fresh sd card, loaded update.zip on it and repeated rooting instructions with the sbf flash. Got the update.zip to load by first selecting allow update.zip. Loaded update.zip and got message that it was successful, but still boots to M and hangs.
I would really appreciate your assistance in returning to an operating phone!

Error upgrading to Gingerbread!

Hey guys,
Every time I try to install the "Monster_2.3.2_4.5.153_updater_Rooted.zip" ROM from Droid Life the install aborts with an error message and I have nothing left to do but to remove the battery and reinsert it. When I do that however, I get to the boot loader with an error message and I have to revert to the stock SBF and re-root my phone, re-bootstrap recovery, boot in recovery, and try again - I'm feeling lucky. I have done this about seven or eight times, nine as we speak, and so far with absolutely no success. I would really like to know if I am doing something wrong here, I have installed other ROMs with success such as Fission and Liberty.
The last few lines of error message in the installer were as follows:
...
Unmounting Systen ...
updatinig radio image ...
assert failed: motorola.update_cdma_bp("/tmp/rdl.bin", "/tmp/bp.img")
E:Error in /sdcard/Monster_2.3.2_Rooted.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
---
The Device being used is a Droid 2 Global with the stock SBF running.
And that is all that I get, this problem has repeated itself many times and I have tried installing the above ROM while having another version and ROM installed both with no success. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Have you tried to apply that monster.zip file from the Bootstrap Recovery app & choose the option to choose the zipfile?
Do you have it in the root of the /sdcard directory?

ZTE Blade flashing help

Ok guys I really need your help. I messed up flashing and because I did things in the wrong order. Here's what I did:-
1. I upgraded gen1 to gen 2
2. I then wiped data/factory reset without flashing clockworkmod recovery.
3. The phone then rebooted and stayed on the green man screen and thats it.
4. I managed to finally find a clockworkmod that would work v3.0.1.4 none of the others came on, it just stayed at the green man screen.
5. I try flashing and all it say's:-
Install from sd card
Finding update
opening update
E:Can't open/sdcard/update.zip
(no such file or directory)
Installation aborted.
I did another phone at christmas and that worked fine because I did it in the right order. But I do remember when I flashed the clockworkmod it was green and upsidedown, but I can't find one that does that now.

[Q] Clockwork and no backup

Howdy all, yay another newbie!
Phone is a droid 2, verizon network. I rooted it last night with the super 1click, have SU access, wireless tether and installed rom manager free version.
Flashed cwm recovery to 2.5.08, tried to backup existing rom and had an immediate reboot with no backup made. Tried repeatedly same results, reflashed cwm repeatedly same results. Tried to change the cwm recovery version, and have
2.5.08
2.5.1.4
2.5.1.3
2.5.1.1
listed. But trying to load any but 2.5.08 returns "An error occurred while downloading your recovery.
I tried going into CWM recovery through rom-manager but it immediately reboots back to normal, no recovery screen.
I entered into normal recover and tried to run the 'update.zip' which returns
E:Can't open /cacherecover/command
Install from sdcard
finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted
I wiped back to factory through the normal recovery screen and started fresh and am getting exactly the same as before with everything above tried again.
I have not tried installing a new rom, don't want to go that deep until I know I can reset if needed.
Any help or other ideas? What I've been able to find by searching hasn't resolved the problem yet.

Please help, trying to flash stock gingerbread

I flashed back to froyo with no issues at all. I removed clockwork recovery and just put it back on, I downloaded the gingerbread file and I go through the process of flashing the rom from my sd card from the recovery and not rom manager and it says installation aborted. Why is it saying that? I used two different gingerbread file downloads.
I power down, power on to the clockwork recovery, do a factory reset, and go to install zip from sd card, but it says installation aborted.
Does battery level have anything to do with it?

Help updating XT1032 to official motorola 5.0.2 (custom recovery)

I've just finished flashing the stock motorola 4.4.4 EU rom and updating it after using CM 12 and having it become very unstable on my device due to the recent nightlies. I downloaded the official ota update to 5.0.2 the system reboots into TWRP (Version 2.8.5.0) and displays:
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/cache/Blur_Version.210.12.40.falcon_umts. EURetail.en.EU.zip;
E: Error installing zip file '/cache/Blur_Version.210.12.40.falcon_umts.EURetail.en.EU.zip'
As soon as i select reboot into system, the boot loads fine and stays on for a while, but then automatically restarts to attempt the install again. Im assuming this error is because I'm running a custom recovery, but any help would be great! I know exactly where the zip is on my phone storage too, so would it be a matter of installing manual (however when I checked it displayed a message saying it could be incompatible and render my device unstable, and I really dont want to have to reinstall the rom again.
Also I have not updated to a custom boot loader, its running the kitkat boot loader from motorola.
Thanks in advance
