I agree with you that's why I got me the Nexus S 4G and dump T-Mobile and their bull mofos where giving me edge every 2 weeks since I got the SGS4G ... and never gave me my mail in rebate ... also they give more promotion power to crap phones like that Nokia. I think if I saw 1 ad for this phone it was a miracle ... but that's my beef with T-Mobile ... back to the phone I think it could have been great. But I'll again compare it to the Sega Dreamcast bad ass died young ...

There is no eta. There is a project underway being led by Krylon360 so I have no doubt it will be available eventually.
I don't mean to be a d*ck but it is considered bad form to ask for etas from independent development. They mostly do this stuff out of love for the work usually in their spare time. If they have an eta for a project they will post it with updates. If they don't, that means there isn't one. Fyi.

Cm is no safer than any other rom in development stages. And yes, it is bad form to ask how long for anything. You need to understand that we devs and modders do this from the kindness of our hearts and for experience. This is the kind of question that pisses a dev off.

I wanted to say thank you so much to all the wonderful devs here for all of their efforts making the Captivate a better phone than Samsung could. Please don't flame me, this isn't a knock on the Captivate, I loved the device even with it's flaws. I will miss the Captivate forum, yesterday I jumped to T-Mobile, better rates and they have dual core phones. I got an HTC Sensation and I love it.I will miss my Cappy but I couldn't deal with Samsung's shortfalls any longer, I want a device that works as it should out of the box. I also would like timely updates which AT&T proved they suck at providing. Happy flashing to all and thanks for the wonderful support provided by the community.

You can't blame the hardware for crappy made software from the service provider or user error from bricking. I have never done anything that I couldn't fix and that wasn't my fault...
The fact that you CAN make it better by flashing new software proves that the hardware is adequate. The only thing you could perhaps complain about is gps but if you're that dependent on it maybe you should take some time learning your way around...

I have switched over to Sprint and nabbed a SGS2 Epic Touch 4g. I jus would like to thank everyone on the G2X forums, the trolls, the DEVS, and the people who actually help one another by directing them to the right links to make their G2X experience awesome and jus right for them.
P.S I'm really missing my G2X running Miui on Faux. Time for me to move over to the Epic 4G Touch page. But G2X will remain in my Favorites.

You're right. People DO dumb **** all the time...like insinuate that ICS will keep a device relevant after it's out of date.
Got my SGSII today, as well. The TMo version, but nonetheless. A SUBSTANTIAL upgrade.
In my opinion, this wasn't a smart decision, especially considering the fact that the GSIII should be announced soon... You could've held off for a little bit longer!

Trying to stay on the top of the technology curve with Android is impossible unless you have plenty of money to burn. I try to get a year or 18 months then upgrade. ICS is definitely keeping me with the G2x for the time being.

Pretty naive for you to say that. You'd be a fool to even think the G2x is remotely better than the SGS2.
Better processor, more RAM, bigger/better screen, and most importantly, actual support from Samsung as opposed to the lack there of from LG.

This thread keeps appearing everyday. If its that important for ics go buy a different phone or donate enough to our devs that they don't have to work and can just build roms all day. How many times does this have to be brought up? You ungrateful people make me sick.

If u read i said that everyone has ics but us and samsung made our phone too good anand everyone keeps complaining..im not complaining

People like you piss me off. You have a opinion and express it as a fact. Posts like yours that are written to incite drama is the reason people get upset and rage on people for arguing.
Instead of trying to pick a fight use that energy to help. Stop being part of the problem and instead be part of the solution.

I am sorry but I don't know what opinion I stated as a fact.
The point is that we have devs spending their free time building roms, tweaks, fixes, themes and everything else under the sun... and all people say is "what about ics?" How many times has this question been answered by devs themselves. I just looked in 5 threads and saw the answer 3 times. Its frustrating that nobody is ever happy with what they have and instead make posts about how we are a disgrace because we don't have ics. If you took time to read and understand there would never be a need for these topics.
Now perhaps I was a bit harsh but its getting ridiculous. My post was not meant to incite drama. It was meant to tell people to be grateful with what they have. In my opinion (not a fact since you can't tell the difference) that is more of a solution to the problem than just answering every thread the exact same way. This entire thread had absolutely no benefit to the community in anyway shape or form.
It's not in the OP but is a few posts down.

That was just asking for somebody to respond. But instead of just posting dang you guys should be grateful for what you have. Not that people make you sick. That just rubs me wrong and IMO you owe the community a apology for that. That was rude crude and unnecessary.
Y'all might want to have one of your devs look into porting a rom from the Vibrant (ics from 2.2 sources) yall have 2.3x sources and drivers which are handled very similarly in 4.x.x. One of your devs would have to make some alterations to existing Vibrant kernels since the GPS and Ramdisk and file directories are a bit different by comparison. Keymapping should be more or less the same and as i understand it yall have figured out how to get CWM running. Basically all yall would need to do is recompile an ICS kernel for yall's device (no easy task) n then use the framework and other files from a vibrant rom. Least that's what we didnt get 2.2.1 and hacked away at a release yall got
This phone is very different from the rest, is T-Mobile exclusive and we just recently got FBI source so of course were behind

Ehhh it is what it is guys. I'm sure you all knew what you'd be getting into before buying this phone. Can't expect much from it when its basically just a Vibrants cousin. Although I do appluad the little devs that have worked hard on this. But I think the same thing is happening to the Amaze. Great phone just like this, but it was just a Sensation cousin. That's why its always best to get the flasgship, and not its slightly bettter predecessor. That's why the SGS2 or 3 is what you should get, as well as the upcoming One X.

I didn't really know this would happen but I'm still greatful for what we have. This was my first android phone and the best option at the time. I had no choice since my phone was broken and I really needed one.
