This was an issue on my Fascinate and Epic too and was eventually fixed via updates and custom kernel/rom so I can only hope the same is true here

GPS In Bionix ROMS camera app

Does anyone know why the gps gets activated in the stock camera apps on Bionix Frost and Bionix Black Ice?
Also I can't figure out how to disable it. There seems to be no option to disable it. Can we? If so how.
Thanks

I could've sworn this happened on the stock roms too, but are you talking about gps getting enabled even though you had it off, or the gps icon popping up

I'm talking about it getting enabled even though it is off. And there is no way to turn it off in the app.

Main settings/location and security/ then uncheck everything in my location. That should do the trick

Auto rotaion

My auto rotation stopped working, has this happened to anyone else?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
You sure you didn't turn it off by accident?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
I checked that, turned my phone off and on. Nothing...

Does it not work with anything? Or just a specific app? Some apps allow you to specify for that app only, even if it differs from the system setting.
It doesn't work on anything

Maybe have accelerometer went bad. Have you tried anything besides autorotate that uses that?
On YouTube I have to double tap the video to get it to play full screen. In the browser I have to put it on portrait mode only. I can't look or take pics in portrait mode

Have you tried a factory reset? If you get to the point where you tried everything else I would back all your data up then try that.
Which rom are u running or are u running stock?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
I say try the bubble level app. See if that seems to work right. That will tell you if there is something wrong with the accelerometer. If that is bad, that would explain why it isn't sensing what way it is being held.
ya what rom are you running cause it might be within the notification bar the far right notification in weapon rom it has it in there, if so, try clicking it and then going to landscape mode.

I don't know what I did, but I went into my account then auto rotate started working again

Did you install a rotation widget, turn off rotation, then delete widget? Re-install widget, reset, then delete.

Are u on the weapon rom? Cuz I did turn mine off by accident I pulled status bar and figured out it was the last setting on the right, I had same problems as u pics only in portrait etc. I'm telling u it prolly got switched off by accident

Skype doesn't work in portrait mode

It works but I have to hold it in landscape because it wont rotate. I've reinstalled it but the problem remains. I'm running stock. Is anyone else having this issue?

Go into settings bro enable zoom and rotation.

I don't have that option in the settings for Skype

Does anyone mind testing Skype to computer for me and see if they also have this issue? Just want to see if this is for all skyrockets or if it's just mine. Thanks!

So skype does work with the SR? I haven't been able to get either the front nor rear camera to work at all.
Yeah it works pretty good. The only issue I have is that it wont work in portrait mode. Gotta hold it in landscape which feels kinda awkward. Maybe you should try reinstalling.

Brightness adjustment

Did they take away the ability too adjust the brightness by sliding your finger across the notification bar in the official 4.0.4 update?

I used custom roms so I didn't know. That sucks though I'll probably waste 100 hours this year going into settings to adjust the brightness

Many of the jb ROMs have the option to place a slider in the notification drawer. See screenshot next to the word "auto"
I'm running Orthus Five at the moment, but I'm pretty sure that the option is also in liquid, as well as other ROMs in this thread.

Ya I went totally stock bacause I didn't have enough time for all the flashing and updating of roms.

Get and App called "Display Brightness". It provides a transparent and auto-hiding brightness slider on the screen that works anytime the screen on on (lock screen, in apps, home screen, etc...)
it works well on the skyrocket... and yes, I'm still pissed that samsung took the notification bar brightness slider away.
