[Q] Warranty Question - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I live in the UK and have got family in the US to buy a transformer and bring it over with them. Can anybody WITH a transformer confirm if it is a US warranty or global like the pc's they do.
Thanks!

I think I read a post in XDA which confirmed the warranty was worldwide.

Yeah, I read that too, but I saw someone said the booklet said US....

Can anyone confirm this or not? I'm really interested in buying the Transformer Prime when it is released in the US as it will be priced at $499. Here in the UK it is likely to be priced at around £499 which is just silly. Anyway, the warranty rules for the original transformer is probably likely to be the same as the Prime so just wanted to find out. TIA

[Q] Pricing after Prime release?

I went in to Best Buy to grab the fabled $300 Transformer (not Prime) last week. They had three boxes on the shelf. They told me that the Transformer was actually $400. I showed them the Best Buy website product page for the Transformer for $300. They said that was a different model. I said, "No, look, the specs are EXACTLY the same. It is different in no way whatsoever. It is the same device." They said that it was the "black Friday" edition. And they didn't have any of the $300 Black Friday editions, they only had the $400 normal editions.
First of all, that's bait and switch. That's saying "Oh, come into our store and get this device for only $300!" And then when you walk in they say "Nope, sorry, that's a DIFFERENT MODEL with the same specifications and build! It may be identical in every way, but it's different, and we don't have any." Bait and switch is illegal. If they somehow get around that by bending the law by selling the Black Friday devices under a different model number, that SHOULD be illegal.
TL;DR
Anyway, enough of that rant. On the Best Buy site, even the Black Friday $300 edition went back up to $400 just yesterday. Is this because of the delay with the Prime? Is there any hope of a $300 Transformer before Christmas? Or will I have to get the HTC Flyer? After the Prime is released, do we have any idea whatsoever on the pricing of the first edition? I know no one knows for sure. Even speculation would be nice.
Thanks!
the prime isnt released till the week of the 19th so i dont know where you got your information
I was talking about the CURRENT Transformer. The TF101 or whatever. If I was asking about the Prime, this post would be in the Prime's forum
My question is does anyone have any valid speculation as to what might happen to the CURRENT Transformer's price after the Prime is released. I would like to know because last week the CURRENT Transformer was $300 at Best Buy (now it's $400 again. Possibly due to the delay of the Prime?)

Best place to purchase in US?

I'm looking to get a 3G P6800 and was wondering where others in the US purchased from?
Looks like NegriElctronics has them for $512 but I've never dealt with them before.
Thanks!

I, like a few members here, got it from them. Very reputable and fast shipping (at least in my case). They will be my go to retailer for future unlocked devices.

I have purchased products from On The Go Solutions for a number of years and they have been helpful. Not sure they are the cheapest but you get what you pay for and they work hard to deliver. they produced a second P6800 for me and the second had a 32 gb internal memory.
Got mine off of a 3rd party reseller on amazon and didn't get as good of a deal as that. Wish I had known about them. Oh well, still loving the 6800.
Im from germany ..... and got my p6800 from negri within 2 day express shipping!!!!
negri accept also amazon payment so for me it is also a save shop.
the service is fast ... you can instant communicate over the web!!!!
i hope this helps you

Good deal? ($250 at local best buy...probably mistake)

Hey guys. Today I was at my local best buy and saw this tablet. It sat right next to its red counterpart, which was $350. To my surprise, the blue version was on "Clearance" at $250.
Is this a deal I should take advantage of? Or would it be wrong considering it should be $350?
I'm sorry I don't have pictures, but I will try to explain why I think its a mistake. The sale end date was "1/1/99"....and also, I can't find this tablet anywhere this cheap.
Is the tablet really on sale for this price? Was it a mistake?
Sorry if this might be a stupid question, I just don't know where else I should ask.
I think i would just buy it to be honest. It seems cheap and if it is a missprice on the item, it may show when the item is scanned. It's not like you're doing anything illegal or committing a crime.

Actually not really sure how I feel about them making it illegal; I don't really benefit from unlocked phones, as rooting takes care of all I need. Seems like they're not really planning on going after individual violators, anyway, but rather places that sell unlocked phones for profit.
suppose the way I Look at it is if you get a phone on contract why shouldn't you be able to unlock it and get as much as you can for it once your contracts up it also gives options to buy a phone that your carry doesn't carry that you might like thats still good or use abroad by just buying a prepaid sim in that country
just a taught

I think this is the wrong route to people getting what they want.
It's fair enough to get yourself locked into a stupid contract - if the carrier is subsidizing the phone, why shouldn't they be allowed to lock it in ?
What customers need to do is demand more options or put their money towards products that represent what they want. Buy unlocked if it's important to you - the option is out there, just like the option to not get locked into a contract is.
i agree with you pennycake you buy a phone on contract at a discounted price the phone company has a right to lock the the phone to their service but don't you think once your contract is full filled and the contract is up that the person should be able to unlock said phone if he/she so wishs considering that by the end of the contract you've paid full price and then some for said phone
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
I'd agree with that, and many carriers do too - some don't even make you wait the entire contract term.
It's another case of "put your money where you support the policies". If people keep buying into things they hate, the carriers will just keep doing it.

[Q] Way to buy new or 2nd hand US model in UK

Sorry but I posted on incorrect place with no replies so I'll ask here which I hope is right.
1st Post
Best method to import to UK from USA
Hello, forgive me if this is a common question but searching doesn't yield much info.
I'm considering a Samsung Galaxy 2 10.1 Tablet new or second hand but really want the USA spec as I believe the UK model has less features such as IR Blaster.
Can anyone advise best procedure to get one delivered to the UK from USA. I mean is eBay a good option or do some suppliers specialise in this type of thing. I just worry a little with regards to safe delivery and reliability.
Thanks
2nd Post
Found a UK supplier of refurbished by Samsung Galaxy 2 10.1 models with the IR Blaster.
I mailed them to confirm and they replied that these were the US models with IR, at a good price but I worry how good a quality these would be.
Has anyone bought refurbished that can advise ?
