[Q] droid 2 and milestone 2 - Droid 2 Global General

hey, I just got a milestone 2 recently. I'm new to this, so sorry if there's a post bout this. I was wondering whether milestone 2 can use the roms that are meant for droid 2 ? aren't they the same phone? thanks in advance!

nope! Won't work and if you try you will probably brick the phone.

Confirm,cpu is different,d2 uses cdma,m2 gsm...

What ROM are you running? I recently learned how to flash the Droid, and I am, in fact, using the Droid right now (on the cricKet network) and am typing this message with it. I can help guide you if you like.

No, that forum was for the OG Atrix 4g which is a COMPLETELY different phone interms of hardware. So ROM's for the Atrix 4g will NOT work for the Atrix 2.
Until we get an unlocked bootloader or a workaround for the bootloader, no.

Since this post has been moved to the proper section now.
Still no sights of any Developer who might be interested in porting a ROM from Xoom 2. or it is not possible at all.
Have searched XDA and google.. cant seem to find anything relevant
Please redirect me if any information
What's the situation on the xoom 2 bootloader.

Getting a Droid 2 Global

Hello Everyone,
I'm moving from the HTC Thunderbolt to the Droid 2 Global. (Wanted to try out the Droids and was able to get a decent deal on the winter white Droid 2 Global close to new/perfect condition. Anyone have tips and tricks for someone that is going to be using one of the Droid series phones for the first time? (Would have put int Q/A, but didn't see one.) [Moving from 4G LTE to 3G only isn't a issue for me because my home isn't in a 4G area. Only time I got 4G was at work, don't get to use my phone during that time anyways)
Thanks!
The D2G is a poor choice. It's very outdated, and runs Android 2.3.x.
There's a Tips and Shortcuts booklet in the retail box. Other than that it's just another Android phone.
do you plan on rooting/ romming?
2.3.4 can only be rooted with magic md5 link in my list

It's running 2.3.3. I don't see it as a poor choice. Signal is better than thunderbolt and the hassle of having to send it into airplane every time it switched between 4g and 3g. I only get 3g at home. It only took $80 out of my pocket for a near new condition.
Also thanks sd shadow. Was planning on rooting and romming.
So far so good as far as the phone goes.

thank you for responding. Ill make sure to check it out. Any ROM suggestions that run well? I don't care much about camcorder/camera if there are any decent ics? I was use to issues with ics on tbolt from them having to do most of the work for aosp ics lacking official kernel.
