While it's possible, it is a b*tch to do. I've tried on 3 different devices and no luck.
Yes, if it is att ss galaxy tab. It had one, and it was easy to flash to make phone calls and 3G working with att

So im thinking about selling my MT4G and "upgrade" to inspire...but, i sort of wanted to know you guy's overall impression of the device
Should i sell and get it?
Should i stick with mine and wait till Q2 and htc's dual core line up?
Is it worth getting it right now?
I know sgs2 is coming out but y know once u go htc u cant go back lol and samsung sucks

MT4G is a good phone. Why exactly do you want to switch? Bigger screen? Standard Sense instead of T-Mobile customized? You will lose ffc and WiFi calling. More of a sidegrade than an upgrade imo.

Yea I definetely agree. The MT4G is a more than capable device with the same RAM and a 1gHz processor as well. Definetely not a necessary upgrade

The problem is that in my area i have better ATT Coveragr (yes...its true u_u) and so that is one of the major reasons i would consider the upgrade, and i used to have a an HD2 back on the winmo times and i honestly miss the screen realstate :S
Also to be honest my radio signal with the mytouch is quite unstable and the wifi reception is somewhat poor

I've been using an iphone for years now and I sick of IOS and its lack of usefulness IMO.
Anyways I'm looking to switch soon to andriod any suggestions on phones or manufacturers? I have heard from a friend that HTC is the best for rooting is this true? I'd like to root my phone so I dont want to end up with a phone that is locked down.
I am currently looking at the samsung Galaxy S II, Driod Bionic and HTC thunderbolt. Though I hear the driod bionic may not be rootable? Any other suggestions?
I'm open to service providers though I am looking at verizon right now.
Sorry if this has been asked before I tried to search but didnt find anything.
I'm starting to research now so any help would be appreciated and any website suggestions would be awesome too.
Thanks for the help!!

HTC evo is very good. Anything from HTC for that matter
+1
HTC is the way to go. Samsung is cheaply made.

The galaxy s2 is a nice one on paper, I haven't tried it myself but I believe it would be good. I wasn't a fan of the original galaxy s though, it felt very cheap and the touch screen wasn't as good as the htc's. I used the htc desire and really liked that one, htc makes some brilliant phones, that feel well-built, well programmed and really stand out when you actually use them.
I think either the galaxy s2 or a htc phone would be good, I'm liking the look of the HTC sensation myself. If you're looking for a dual core like those though, I believe it would be best to wait it out for a while and see how the development goes for them.
thanks for all the suggestions how are samsung phones for rooting? or does it all depend on the development community picking up the phones?
no problem at all with rooting, personally i would suggest you'll get a fully customized rom for your phone - these are much faster than the stock firmware and rooted by default...
For google, make the Maps 5 with navigation to be available completely offline, like you can do with OVI Maps in nokia.
I am looking to trade my inspire for a moto atrix 4g because my dad is going to get the thunderbolt and i want a front facing camera to video call him.
I m looking for a almost new/ no scatches atrix. My HTC inspire is in a Otterbox from the beggining and has no scratches. Is used for 2 months now.
Don't do it. The front facing camera on the atrix sux...very poor quality to the point where its not worth it. And chances are, much like most atrix owners, you will find yourself trading it back in for an inspire. You might as well save yourself the trouble.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
Ohh ok. So i may need to see if i can change it to an iphone or other android with ffc
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
You my friend are in a pickle. With att, at the moment, if u absolutely need a front facing camera, its either the iPhone or the atrix. I wouldn't go with either. Instead, if I were you, I would wait for the realease of the Samsung infuse and see how its ffc is, as well as the phone itself.

Yup, don't do it, just 'cause he sais so. Or just go in the att store take the atrix and open the camera app, switch to front cam and you'll be pretty pleased with the quality. Is more than enough for my atrix and especially for videocalling over att's 4G network.
Edit: btw, both iPhone and Atrix have same resolutions.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I would honestly get the iPhone over the atrix . Go use both for an extended period if you can. The lag of the atrix is annoying as hell and yet to be cracked. The iPhone runs smoother and you can jailbreak it, it also has amazing games and the battery lasts longer. Try them both and get what You like. also you will ne amazed at how much you DON'T use the facetime/videochat. At least most people I know don't use it.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
why trade for sth worse?
Sounds like a good excuse to get a tablet lol but I have heard too many bad things about the atrix.
So idk where to post this, So I'll post it here. I'm looking to buy a new android phone on t-mobile and I was wondering which phone right now would be the best to get? I have the G2 but I wanna look into somethin else. Any suggestions??

I was actually checking out the G2x.... I may get that one. But I see its on 2.2 and no cm rom for it yet. But very appealing with all the speed it has though.

currently it is Samsung Galaxy S 4G
The MyTouch 4G is a beast of a phone. And the amount of things going on right now in our dev section is amazing.
Ive got an extra glacier and was offered a local trade for a samsung galaxy s 4g for tmobile. What do you guys think? Is there anything I should watch out for? Is it a fair frade straight across or should one of us add cash?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
My girl got a galaxys4g and tho she loves the phone, even I know the mt4g is a better phone in all specs except maybe the screen. If your phone is in excellent condition I would say to add another 50 dollars or more for a galaxy s 4g

I figured they should add some cash. Plus the galaxy has been dropped.

I had a galaxy S 4g, but traded it back in for a new MT4G. The screen on the GS4G is much nicer than the MT4G and the phone itself functions very well... but the development just isn't there yet.
Keep in mind that it's not just a Galaxy S... it's T-Mobile's variation of the Galaxy S and is a different phone all together. I was highly disappointed to learn I couldn't use any of the ROMs that I had been planning to try, and that the 4G model was in it's infancy for development.

All SamSUX device are same BS its just another Galaxy S mockup with minor H/S revision. Also we must give credit where its due and on the display SuperAMOLED always better than our. I wouldn't take those cheap plastic looking Galaxy S-BS even if they offer me free. I am much happy with MT4G and spent more on it than 2xSG4G at full device price without any contracts.

Thanks for the input so far guys. It seems like I am better off with the glacier. Maybe I will just keep it and try to exchange it through tmobile (due to the washed out screen). I want to exchange both of them but the rep I spoke with only wanted to allow an exchange on one of my lines.

You may not want to exchange if you plan to root your phone I just got my exchange today and it has 2.3.4 on it which at the moment I don't think can be rooted with s on
Ive heard you can downgrade and then acquire s off. Is it worth exchanging if you have the so called bad chip?

Yeah you defiantly don't wan't the bad chip but you may have to tell t-mobile you are having random reboots and you reset your phone or something to exchange it.where did you see the link about rooting a phone with the update on it I can't seem to find it.

You need to know ADB though. My friend just did it and it works.
Oh, and to answer your question, I would make the trade since you have two Glaciers.
The Galaxy S 4G has a higher resale value than the Glacier. Plus I always see people willing to trade their G2x's for a SGS4G.

This is what I was just about to write. I wouldn't get into a debate about which one is better, I've had both and like both. I wouldn't trade my mt4g for another sgs4g unless I had a spare.
