Hi All,
I have recently bought a 16gb SD card and want to migrate my current Rom (LeeDroid 3.0.5 with Apps2SD).
Before doing anything, I did a nandroid backup. I partitioned my new SD card (15GB Fat32 and 1GB Ext3) and copied my old sd card to the new partition.
When trying to 'restore' to my recent backup, I keep getting an md5 mismatch.
Is this possible, or am I going to have to start from scratch?

I did all the steps to move apps, cache, data to my sd card for the G1 phone and everything is working good but I want to backup everything on a bigger sd card and I also noticed that even if I use a new partitioned fat32 and ext2 sd card it wont boot, can any one tell me how to backup all my sd card please thank you
Hi,
When I upgraded to a bigger card, I did this:
1-copy current sdcard to computer.
2-backup your apps with astro
3-delete all caches on phone.
4-move apps and caches back to phone.
5-format new sdcard with a ext2 partition.
6-copy sdcard data from computer to new sdcard.
7-transfer apps and caches back to sdcard.
8-reinstall all apps with astro.
You should be good to go.

So im considering upgrading my SD card and going to a 16gig one from an 8gig one. I have Move2SD Enabler and most of my downloaded apps over on the SD card. What would happen if i copied everything from my current SD card and just dropped it onto a brand new 16gig one and inserted that into my phone? Would i not notice anything or would it break all those apps?
any help? Im sure there is a quick answer to this.

Hi,
I have upgraded my SD card by these steps:
- Make the titanium back up and copy all contents of your SDcard to the pc.
- Then change the SDcard for the new one & format it in your phone.
- After formatting, copy the saved contents from the pc back to your new SDcard.
okay but what happend with the ext3 partition ?

ext2/3 Partition u can access by a linux live-cd like knoppix.
or try totalcommander with the ext2 extension from a win-box.
I'm running MiniCM6 1.0.0 on my Xperia X8 with Apps2SD working. I have moved many apps from the phone to the SD card. The problem is that the card's size is too small for me. I need a 4GB one. I've seen many threads that some guys had problems when changing SD cards.
If I copy all the files in my current SD card and transfer them to the new one, will I have any problems? My apps will still be there, right?

You don't say whether the apps on the SD card are in the FAT32 partition or in the SD-EXT partition.
The FAT32 area can be read and copied using a PC.
Should be able to backup the NAND and EXT in recovery. (My phone is a G1 but I've used CM roms for most of the past year. The backups created in recovery are available on the FAT32.)
Always make a good backup in recovery. When you try the transfer to the larger card, you can always go back if something didn't work quite right..
Sorry but I'm not familiar with these concepts, I'm still a noob
Can't I just copy the files of my old SD card to my PC and then transfer them to the new SD card?
How did the change of SD Card go?
Im about to do the same thing and was wondering i its possible to copy all contet from current SD Card to my PC and then copy it to the new SD Card.
i have a 4g mem with 512 ext3. how can i copy the data on ext to the new larger ext i will create on my 32g with 2g ext3?
make a nandroid +ext backup on the current sd card, then transfer the nandroid folder over to the new sd once you have formatted and partitioned it. restore the nandroid and voila! your ext is restored.'
edit: this shouldnt be in the development section by the way...
Not actually tried it myself but...
If you backup your rom, then copy your clockworkmod folder from your current SD card to the FAT 32 section of your new SD card, then put your new SD into the phone, boot into bootloader, maybe do a full wipe for good measure then restore your rom from recovery.
As i say i have not done this myself but it sounds logical.
Might be better off in the Q+A section?
Hey guys, I currently have a 8gb sd card on my HTC One V.....
It's almost full and has a lot of nandroid backups and other data on it.
I just bought a 16 gb card on ebay and what I wanna know is if there is any way to transfer the file system/data from my previous sd card to my new one without changing anything.
Thanks.
