Latest Asus Firmware/Rom ? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I downloaded the latest Rom from asus and eventually had a file called "blob". Is there a method for extracting the contents of this file?
I asked this same question in the development section and the thread was deleted. I don't know why it was deleted, it was just deleted. So I have to assume because it was in the wrong section.

It's really only one file.. its just split in 2 for downloading sake.. when you extract it does part 1 then connects to part 2 and extracts the rest

Need to shorten filenames in windows 8 activation zip file

I wanted to post this in the thread where the activation is, but couldnt.
I have tried to extract these files and the filenames are too long.
I have renamed the files in the archive and it no longer works.
Does anyone have a way they can share to shorten these names and have the archive still extract?
or
Does anyone have a version of this archive that already has the names shortened that can be sent to me or a link to a download of said file?

[Q] [Question] NVFlash Files

Hey everyone,
I have been looking all over for the files needed to make my TF700 brick proof. I basically need the ebtblob.bin file for my device so I can flash it via fastboot. The main site that says to get it from their download section does not appear to actually have it (http://androidroot.mobi/download/). Does anyone have the files they can send me? Just to be clear I am not asking for anyone elses device specific backups, rather the file I need to flash via fastboot to create them in the first place.
Thanks!

D850 Lollipop OTA dlpkgfile

Hello,
I have uploaded the dlpkgfile and fota_script for the D850 Lollipop OTA. I have attempted to extract the contents several ways and have been unsuccessful. I am uploading these with the hopes that someone either a) knows how to extract the contents or b) can figure out how to extract the contents. So, keeping things short and simple, here is the zip file containing the two aforementioned files.

From what I heard they can do nothing with those files they need the full firmware files to be able to work on but thanks for your efforts.

[Completed] How to "push" files from a zip-ped app

Hi I have a China tablet that has no apparent "recovery" and I'm afraid of flashing a recovery and risk bricking it.
I want to try to install a zipped app. (Maxx Audio) the file structure is
- Meta-INF
- System
somewhere in the "system" there is an apk file
I presume I "install" that apk file, then copy all the files under "system" into the "system" folder of my tablet?
Where do i put "meta-INF" files?
Thank you very much. Apologies for sounding dumb. I have googled for a few days and found no answer so I thought I'd ask at XDA.
Any help is appreciated.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist and it's difficult to point you towards a specific forum since you didn't provide any information about which device/ROM/file you have in mind. The file you describe seems to be a common "flashable ZIP" designed to be loaded by a custom recovery such as TWRP. Without such a recovery, you would need to study the steps included in whatever scripts are in the "meta-INF" directory and duplicate them manually from a terminal emulator prompt or maybe from an ADB link to a desktop or laptop, an eminently dangerous endeavor NOT recommended unless you're positive you know what you're doing. If you need more information, try asking with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. That's a good place to start where members familiar with your device might be able to advise you. You could also ask wherever you found the file you're attempting to install.
Good luck!
Thank you. In the zip thread someone said just to install the apk and then push the files and it worked for him.

It all depends on what command(s) the script in the ZIP file contains but I'm sure whoever uploaded the file can help you. As mentioned earlier, we cannot provide technical support here, sorry.
