Hi all,
First post here.
Anyway, i have recently got a Vario and i have sucessfully connected it up to a latop wifi via an ad hoc setup. Anyway, i know its working properly because i can view webpages that are being dished up via a webserver installed on the laptop (using IP address as the url).
Anyway, i now want to copy some files off the laptop (via a shared folder). I have opened up file explorer and selected browse path and then entered the ip address and the share (\\192.168.0.1\share). However, WM5 does not want to connect to it saying that it cannot find the server.
Is this a known issue with the file explorer? :?:
Cheers
Okay, found the problem now. Aparently you have to use the actually names instead of IP addresses.
I have tried endlessly trying to get this to work but I can't. My pc is connected to my wireless router by wire and my wizard by wifi an I'd like to access my PC files from my wizard (and the other way round if possible) Do I need an Ad-hoc connection for this? I have tried using resco, Gsfinder+, total commander and the built in file explorer to map a network drive but it never works. TC and GSfinder say the usual connot connect bla bla and "Error 53". I have also tried setting my connection to connect to 'Work' but this had no effect.
I have enabled file and printer sharing on the PC, and shared the 'shared documents' folder. Then in 'My Network Places' I added the folder as a network place. The PC's name is 'Family' and the shared folders name is SharedDocs. If I right click on the folder (called 'SharedDocs on Family')and select properties, it says '\\FAMILY\SharedDocs' but If I try this on my wizard it does not work. What am I doing wrong? I don't get it?
Anyone any ideas?
Anyone?
Thanks in Advance
Problem fixed. Recently got a laptop, set up shared folders and printer sharing, then it started to work on my phone
Hi all,
there is another question regarding my orbit.
I have setup the "File Synchronization Settings"
When I connect the Orbit to the computer, it synchronize these files on both locations.
This function works great.
The only problem is that the folder location has been pre-set in the main memory.
I want to put all my documents in my micro-sd card, although I can copy the files to it, but it addes several more steps.
Is it possible to change this location to my micro-sd?
Thanks for looking.
Has anyone found a way to automatically synchronise files or folders on your windows mobile machine with an online file storage, or even a home computer/server over the devices internet connectivity (3G/GPRS/Wifi)?
Thanks
Hi there. I finally found a thorough file sync solution between PC and PDA. It contains of local-network only FTP server on PDA and a sync program on pc which can access FTP and has wildcard filtering ability. I use it to sync all PDA-readable/editable contents (171 formats) of pc-s DESKTOP and MYDOCS in realtime continous manner. The problem I ran into is that this works well over wifi but activesync network connection doesn't seem to let me to the home network. I'd love to actually do it just over activesync. I know activesync is ip-based network room which even dont need an internet connection. How do I enter into that room?
I also tried PocketWizards Easysync but it doesn't seem to count the real free space I have. It only knows the free space of internal memory and thinks the content wouldn't fit to the 16Gb storage card.
confusing text
Sorry. As usual I hurry expressing myself here. The question:
How can I access the same home network through activesync where my laptop is (the ip standard is 192.168.1.*)?
SOLVED
It just works now... I dunno what I did :S
