[Q] CM7 + PowerAmp - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

i am hoping to find other people to see if they can reproduce what i am seeing. when i am listening to music and using navigation, in 1.3 i could not turn on the audio focus option in PowerAmp because it would turn down the volume on both the nav voice and the music so the voice became inaudible. now, in 1.4, Max has introduced cross-fading and fade ins and outs, but it has made things worse on at least my phone because the fades again fade out the nav voice.
i just have the one phone on CM7 and no way to check other phones myself, so i was hoping some people could try it out on their CM7 phones to see what happens, or maybe give me a hint as to what settings to change and where. seems like i've tried all the audio focus settings on the CM end as well as in PowerAmp to no avail.
thanks.

[Q] Navigation Sound Problem with AOSP ROMs

In the past when I have had navigation and music player running the music would cut off for a nav announcement and then resume. Lately the music cuts off but the navigation voice is inaudible. If I hit the volume rocker after the music cuttoff the nav sound comes back loud and clear for that announcement only.
This is true with CM7 and MUIU. I haven't tested on a Sense rom. It is also true whether I am running the native music player or Poweramp. I have never posted in this forum, only the dinc forum, but this seemed like the place to go as I suspect it is not limited to the Incredible.
Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?
Thanks........mm

Music Skipping And Voice Dialer Self-starting

I've noticed this since I bought my htc inspire 4G the phone (I had other issues before such as low battery life, vibration feedback simply not working, etc - I hard reset the phone and those went away, but this is back), and I'm wondering if it's my hardware, or the software.
Basically, if I'm listening to music (Pandora or the Music app), it'll randomly hit Next song - if it's the music app, it'll be a mish-mash of fast forward and next track. This is with the phone screen off or on. When it starts happening I turn the screen on and notice it jumping all over, and I've not touched anything. Additionally, while this is happening, voice dialer opens over and over after I close it, and sometimes it'll just start making a call to the last dialed/received number (which is making me a hit with all my friends).
Finally, I say possessed because this is not consistent. For example, I'm listening to Pandora now with no issues. However, the fact that I have to even worry about this happening again
You are using incompatible headphones. You didn't mention headphones but it explains everything. You need to use headphones that have a mic. These headphones have 4 gold contacts on the plug. Without a mic it only has 3. The big contact at the bottom is grounding out 2 connections causing your phone to switch tracks and make calls. Get correct headphones with a mic. You have to remember this is a phone and not a simple mp3 player.

Independent Navigation (or all app) volume control?

The newest versions of Google Maps and Navigation have combined the Navigation volume with the Media Volume. I've read that by rolling back the version of the app to somewhere around 5.7 - 5.8, you can get your separate Nav and Media volume back, however I'd like to keep the latest version. Is there an app somewhere that allows for control of individual application volumes (similar to the newer versions of Windows' volume mixer)? I'd like to be able to separate the voice and media again.
Thanks,
Dan

Or get the Pro version.
I use this app to keep the damned speaker phone volume being linked the call volume.

Close but no cigar. This app only allows volume control of existing system functions like media, notifications, ringer, etc. Since the latest versions of Google Maps cram voice navigation and media (music, etc) into the same category, I can't control them independently.
A little back story:
I have a new motorcycle helmet with bluetooth capability. I need to be able to hear the navigation over my music. I'd turn music off and JUST have navigation, BUT... there is a delay between the navigation speaking and the bluetooth realizing it and switching back on from an idle/sleep mode, resulting in me missing directions.
What I want is for pandora to play sweet and soft tunes into my earholes while I'm riding, and for me to be able to crank the navigation volume WAY THE HELL UP so I can hear it. With the audio constantly playing through it I won't have the bluetooth wake-from-rest problem that I have using navigation alone.

It's been awhile, so I don't know if my memory serve me right. But there is a hidden menu for the audio settings for the Charge. If you do a search for the code, once you in, you can set the volume for navigation and media volume to balance out. There should be a threads in this forum for the recommended settings. Good luck.

The hidden menu option looks like it works (I can still do test mode, screen debugging, etc) but the dialer code for the audio menu no longer works (I'm on FP1, stock debloated).
Back to square one.
I'd rather have the app I'm looking for than try to hack the audio settings.
Well, I have finally found someone with EXACTLY similar problem!
I also ride a motorcycle and also listen to the music while riding and ALSO use Google Navigation!! Long ago there were good days when some version of GMaps/Navigation had a separate volume control but now it's gone.
It is impossible to hear anything with the music playing. I have tried several workarounds - one of them is to use PowerAmp and to force it to pause music every time any "other" sound plays. It didn't work. Or, well, technically it did, but the difference in volume levels between the music and navigation was so high, that I couldn't hear a thing.
I see a lot of people posting thingies like Super-Beats, Super-Duper-Beats, Super-Duper-Awesome-Beats, claiming that this is some sort of "audio driver" that is getting installed "on the system level" so that the sound is better/louder/deeper/crispier. I guess what we need is a similar solution, that would just add more "audio channels" - a separate one for Navigation, probably for smth else.
Is it at all doable?
Cheers'n'thanks!

I have found that while I'm listening to my music via the Music Play app, the song volume mutes while making the notification sound (the music does not pause though).
see if that helps.

[Q] Bluetooth Streaming Audio Issue

I've been having an issue with Bluetooth streaming audio on every original development rom I've flashed. I'm currently running Slim-4.2.2 build 5.
The problem is that when I'm listening to music through my bluetooth headphones (LG Tone HBS-700) and an incoming call comes through, the music I'm listening to through my headphones comes blaring out the phone's speaker instead of being paused. This happens only when the phone is in vibrate or silent mode. If I have the phone in ringer mode, then the music will pause and the actual ring tone will play out the phone's speaker as it should.
I use Poweramp for local music and Pandora and Spotify as well. For some reason the problem doesn't show itself when I'm listening to Poweramp; only when I'm listening to Pandora or Spotify. (I haven't tried any other apps).
It's only incoming calls too, notifications don't play out the phone's speaker while in silent/vibrate mode during music playback.
A temporary solution for me is to set my ringtone to "none", but then when I have my phone in ringer mode, I have to remember to manually set the ringtone to the one I want and vice versa. I could use something like tasker to handle that, but I'd prefer to fix the root problem if possible vs. covering it up with a hack.
Has anyone else encountered this and hopefully been able to fix it? I'd really like to leave my phone in vibrate mode at work without the possibility of my music blaring out the phone if I get a phone call.
Not a single person has encountered this issue?

Have you tried an app called Soundabout? It is not just a bluetooth issue even with wired headsets this happens also. You will have to get the paid version for Bluetooth settings.
Yeah, I tried out Soundabout with the pro license. I messed with every setting and I couldn't get it to fix the problem.
I never use wired headphones so I didn't know that was an issue too. I just tried out some wired headphones to see if it behaved the same way and there's actually zero issue with wired headphones in relation to an incoming call on my phone. In silent mode, the audio continues to play out the wired headphones and I see a phone call on my screen.
As it turns out, now setting my ringtone to "None" doesn't work as a temporary solution anymore. Media audio from Pandora and Spotify will reroute to the phone's speaker for an incoming call on silent or vibrate mode. I'm going to try out Slim's weekly build 5.5. If that doesn't work, I'm going to check out a custom kernel. If nothing, I may need to revert back to stock as this is a deal-breaker. I can't have my phone making unnecessary noise in a quiet area in the slim chance I get a phone call.
Any and all solutions are welcome if anyone has any ideas or troubleshooting methods they'd like to suggest. Thanks!
same here on stock
i am getting the same thing and running a stock Droid Razr android v. 4.1.2
very f'n annoying when i get calls at work and i got jams playing and all the sudden just blares out the phone speakers.

Has this been solved yet?
Having the same issue with LG Tone+ using PlayerPro with local music. I don't know if it makes a difference (I guess I could test it), but I use last.fm to scrobble all music live.

[Q] Headset music goes to speaker when Google Search button is pressed

I can't seem to shake this issue despite trying a few different ROMs, though I didn't have this on stock, so I'm hoping someone can venture a guess as to what the source of the problem is. I haven't found any solutions through exhaustive searching, and I don't even see anyone with a similar problem.
Whenever the headset is plugged in, I get music and video files playing through the headset just fine, but as soon as I press the Google Search button (to go to Google Search, with the option for voice search and all) whatever sound was playing goes straight out the speaker until I close it or actually complete a search, sending to the browser. I've had this happen a few times in public, loudly disrupting everyone around me.
I'm using CM 11, 0224 nightly
I've disabled voice playback on the search app, but to no avail.
Does anyone have any idea how to correct this?
(Oh, and if someone can inform me how I can get my ringtone to go through my headset instead of speakers, or if I can't, which ROM can let me do that, that would be super great)
